Sarah Palin was asked to respond to Jeb Bush’s recent comments that illegals are here out of an ‘act of love’. Palin responded: I think that anybody who breaks a law in America as their first action, putting their first foot on our homeland illegally, it may be an act of love from their heart but it’s illegal. They’re called illegal immigrants for a reason.

Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney may take another run at the White House, "Face the Nation" host Bob Schieffer said. A new poll shows that only 15 percent of Americans want former Florida Governor Jeb Bush to run for president. The latest YouGov/Economist poll shows that 47 percent indicated that they did not want Bush to run. Thirty-eight percent indicated that they were not sure. The poll also shows that both Bush and former Governor Chris Christie get a 49 percent favorability rating among those that identified themselves as Republicans. Christie, however, is disliked by 37 percent of Republicans, which is a higher unfavorable rating than Jeb Bush – who got 25 percent. Forty-two percent of respondents who identified themselves...

Meghan McCain, daughter of former Republican presidential candidate and Arizona senator John McCain, was asked by KTAR's Mac & Gaydos Tuesday if she agreed with Bush's viewpoint. McCain didn't quite go that far, but she offered up some interesting insight as to what they might mean in regards to a possible run at the presidency. "I understand what he's saying meaning that America is this shining beacon at the top of the hill as Ronald Reagan once said," McCain told KTAR. "I think everyone wants to be an American if you can be, especially if you come from a place...

You're just going to have to try harder, Wolf. Your performance as a Republican strategist attempting to provide "helpful" advice is still far from convincing. Wolf Blitzer took on the role of Republican strategist last Friday on CNN's Wolf by giving advice on which presidential candidate would be best for Republicans in 2016. You can read Wolf exchanging views with Gloria Borger on how to best help the Republicans succeed in the transcript below. The very idea that Wolf and Gloria want to be helpful is entirely laughable but it is fun to see them go through the motions. Of...

NEW YORK — The biggest parlor game on Wall Street and in corporate boardrooms these days is guessing whether former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush will run for president and save the GOP’s old establishment base from its rising populist wing. The second most popular game is guessing what happens if Jeb says no. Two dozen interviews about the 2016 race with unaligned GOP donors, financial executives and their Washington lobbyists turned up a consistent — and unusual — consolation candidate if Bush demurs, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie doesn’t recover politically and no other establishment favorite gets nominated: Hillary Clinton....

Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush has said that illegal immigration is like an "act of love" and promoted amnesty at a "Davos in the Desert" education conference in Arizona. Now, the potential 2016 GOP presidential contender has suggested that parts of America's immigration system should be more like Canada's. Jeb Bush ✔ @JebBush Canada has an economically driven immigration system. Why can’t we fix our broken one? http://t.co/gT1Zby7xZL 5:03 PM - 23 Apr 2014 Skilled immigrants to be offered 'express entry' to Canada in 2015 The Canadian government is forging ahead with anew immigration system that will offer "express entry"...

Oh, good grief! Karl Rove believes Jeb Bush is “the biggest thinker” in the Republican party today. Rove was asked today if Jeb Bush was going to run for president. “If I were betting I’d say yes. But, here’s the thing. He’s a very deliberate thoughtful guy. He’s the biggest thinker on our side. I’m glad he’s thinking about doing it.” Via FOX News Sunday: (VIDEO-AT-LINK) Here are a few examples of Jeb Bush’s big thinking ideas: ** Illegal immigrants come to US in an “act of love” ** Illegal immigrants are “risk takers” ** Ted Cruz needs to have...

In late 2011, nearing the eve of the formal start of the 2012 presidential election cycle, America’s liberal commentators had already watched a series of Republican presidential debates and formed their opinions of the prospective GOP candidates. Most determined that former Massachusetts governor and eventual nominee, Mitt Romney, was an unsavory conservative, but he was a preferable alternative to his Republican competition. In fact, the left-leaning political press was so much more concerned about Romney’s arch-conservative competitors that they were willing to overlook the former governor’s offenses to liberal orthodoxy. According to the left-of-center press, virtually all of the Republican...

Barbara Bush may believe her son Jeb should pass on a 2016 bid because there have been enough Bushes in the White House already. But her husband, former President George H.W. Bush, disagrees and thinks Jeb should go for it. So revealed Jeb’s younger brother, Neil Bush, in an interview with CNN on Thursday that shed additional light on the conflicting sentiments within the former first clan about another potential Bush presidential run. Neil Bush spoke about his father’s desire to see another son seek the White House and said Barbara Bush’s cautionary words won’t affect Jeb Bush’s decision. The...

A corollary to yesterday’s post spitballing about what Paul might do if Jeb (or someone else) squashes him in the early primaries. Whatever you think of Rand’s chances at the nomination, says Ramesh Ponnuru, he’s a strong contender for VP. Do the math: Let’s say the Kentucky legislator makes a strong run — winning some states and coming close in others — but doesn’t win the nomination, a scenario that seems more likely than not. He has something going for him in the veepstakes that other Republican also-rans would not: a constituency that might well defect in large numbers from...

Jeb Bush once again told a group he is thinking of running for president. The reason interest is high in an undeclared candidate with loud (if not numerous) opponents within the GOP is not hard to figure out. With each passing week it becomes more apparent that there is a gap in the GOP field, which Jeb or some other candidate needs to fill in order for the GOP to win the White House. That candidate may be among the group of governors who are considering a run, but we haven’t seen anyone step forward in commanding style to fill...

Jeb Bush: ‘I’m thinking about running for president’ By Cristina Corbin Published April 23, 2014 FoxNews.com Jeb Bush said Wednesday he's "thinking about running for president," in his most direct statement yet about a possible 2016 run. The former Florida governor spoke at a Catholic school benefit in New York Wednesday morning. He previously has said he'll make a decision on whether to run for president before the end of this year, making clear that he was considering the possibility. But his comments on Wednesday appeared to be more direct. Asked what his "immediate plans" were, he said, according to...

The student data processing organization inBloom will shut down in the coming months, its chief executive officer said Monday following criticism that led to the recent loss of the startup's last active client — New York state....Launched in 2013 with $100 million in financing from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Carnegie Corp., the nonprofit's goal was to give educators a data-based tool to personalize instruction. InBloom, based in Atlanta, offered to store and synthesize student data, such as grades, disciplinary actions and disability records in cloud-based servers. Nine states initially signed on but backed out as parents, school...

Breakups are rough — regrets, pain and bitter memories. As Republicans in the House block immigration reform time after time, American Latinos get the message: It's over, don't call me. Have a good life.Incapable of producing even one GOP vote in favor of the Democrats' last-ditch gamble at forcing an open vote of the House, the message to Latinos is crystalline. Whatever goodwill the clutch of pro-immigration reform House Republicans won in the last year since the Senate passed its bipartisan comprehensive immigration reform bill has now evaporated. ADVERTISEMENT What remains are the weekly flip-flops by Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio),...

As it sought to recruit well-heeled investors, an untested and unprofitable Miami company named InnoVida brought aboard a trusted Florida figure in 2007: Jeb Bush, the former governor and the brother of a sitting president. For potential stockholders, the imprimatur of Mr. Bush, who joined InnoVida as a paid consultant and a member of the board of directors, conferred credibility on the young start-up. That credibility did not last long. It turned out that the leaders of InnoVida, a manufacturer of inexpensive building materials, had faked documents, lied about the health of the business and misappropriated $40 million in company...

At a prominent conference of education innovators, Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, who is considering a 2016 presidential run, called for more guest worker programs and a path to amnesty for all of the country's illegal immigrants. Speaking at what is known as the "Davos in the Desert" event in Scottsdale, Arizona, on Monday evening, Bush said the United States needed "robust guest worker programs" and an expansion of H1-B visas for the high-tech industry," even though the notion that there is a shortage of American high-tech workers has been called a myth. He also called for a "tough but...

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush wanted to cash out after he left office, but those business entanglements may hurt him if he chooses to run for the GOP nomination in a party that is increasingly becoming opposed to crony capitalism. According to a report in The New York Times, "Bush left public office seven years ago with a net worth of $1.3 million and an unapologetic determination to expand his wealth, telling friends that his finances had suffered during his time in government."

When Jeb Bush stepped up this month to declare illegal immigration “an act of love,” he provoked precisely the conservative pile-on you’d expect. The right’s favorite crabby uncle, Charles Krauthammer, dourly pronounced the comments “bizarre.”. Rep. Raul Labrador accused Jebbie of pandering. Noted intellectual Donald Trump declared Bush’s thinking “ridiculous” and “dangerous.” And God help anyone who ventured onto sites like RedState.com. Most perfectly, fake-winger Stephen Colbert eulogized, “He will be missed.” In the midst of all the huffing and grumping, it was easy to miss the smaller, quieter sounds of satisfaction emanating from some of Bush’s fellow Catholics, particularly...
