"Der Spiegel" magazine reports that Angela Merkel is not running for re-election as leader of the Christian Democratic Union following yesterday's losses in the Hessian state election. The CDU will hold its conference in December where a leadership election is planned. There is a catch because she still wants to be Chancellor according to the German media.
