FReepers - let's get a list of congressional leaders in both houses who are RINO's only - those who pretend to be conservative... We need to know who they are - so we can find conservative challengers to boot them out in the primaries... Let's get a grassroots operation going to educate the public on what conservatism is - visit the Reagan Library, visit heritage.org, etc. I totally agree with Rush's comments over the last two days - conservativism is not dead - people will follow conservatism if they see it in action and not in name only.

The electorate voted for change yesterday. Now we will see what kind of change they will get. We will also see that with change comes opportunity. First, a mea culpa. I have been blogging away about how how the voters, given the choices they had, should have chosen John McCain as the nation's 44th president. They obviously had other ideas. Most voters were aware of how deep in the tank for Obama was the country's media and how far off were some of the polls. They voted for Obama anyway. They either didn't perceive the arrogance of Obama's campaign and...

Republican Duncan D. Hunter is on a path to succeed his father as the representative in East County's 52nd Congressional District, according to early returns. In the county's other close House contest, Republican Brian Bilbray appears to be holding off Democratic challenger Nick Leibham, who ran a well-funded and spirited campaign in the largely North County 50th district. Voters appear to be returning the county's other three representatives to office. They are Democrat Susan Davis, whose 53rd district is concentrated in San Diego; Democrat Bob Filner of the 51st, which takes in South Bay and Imperial County; and Republican Darrell...

The Republicans should just shut their pie holes. Every time one goes on TV and opens their hate vent, some horrible thing comes out. While I was just watching Hardball moments ago, Duncan Hunter explained that Barack Obama is impressive because, "He has nice teeth." Oh, Jesus. He then followed up by saying, "He is also a good debater and very eloquent." Yes, Obama is an "elequent black man with great teeth." By the way, "great teeth" is what they used to say about slaves on the trading block. Hunter: Listen, McCain’s..all campaigns have many, many dimensions, but in John...

Duncan Hunter came to Washington State yesterday (saturday) to campaign for fellow republican, and former King County sheriff Dave Reichert. Reichert is running for his third term in congress and his opponent (for the 2nd time) is a typical dingbat liberal, anti war democrat. Two events were scheduled. The first was a simple meet in greet at a park in the small town of Orting. The 2nd was a $1000/head event at someone's home in the swanky neighborhood of Medina. OF course, I chose the former for my opportunity to meet the retiring Hunter and to throw a few shekels...

WASHINGTON -- Rep. Duncan Hunter has been involved in 28 defense authorization bills during his long career in Congress. But rarely has he been as tongue-tied -- or as honored -- as he was Tuesday when President Bush signed into law the latest such bill. This one was different from all the others -- it was officially named after the Alpine Republican: "The Duncan Hunter National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2009." The honor was the idea of the Democrat who replaced Hunter as chairman of the Armed Services Committee when Republicans lost their majority in 2006. During closing...

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA) released the following statement regarding the financial “rescue” package under consideration by the U.S. Senate today: “Bill Isaac, former head of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) during the turbulent Savings and Loan crisis decades ago, well instructed the nation with his practical plan to resolve the current credit crunch without spreading huge amounts of cash to institutions around the world. “Isaac reminds us that the banking network is a $15 trillion system, providing a huge forest for the Administration’s $700 billion of taxpayer money to get lost. When asked how the credit...

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Duncan Hunter (R-CA) said today that he will continue opposing and vote against the $700 billion taxpayer funded bailout of Wall Street proposed by Congressional Democrats and Secretary of the Treasury Hank Paulson. “If the taxpayer funded bailout of Wall Street proposed by Congressional Democrats and Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson comes to the House floor, I will vote against it,” said Congressman Hunter. “There is absolutely no guarantee under this proposal that taxpayer funds, used to purchase $700 billion of questionable Wall Street assets, would be re-circulated in the U.S. economy. CARSON CITY -- Until Saturday afternoon, Yerington resident Laura Tracy never had attended a political rally in her life. But she had a hard time controlling her emotions and her political sign when she and 5,000 others pushed into a park pavilion to scream for Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin like she was one of The Beatles. You see, Tracy, like Palin, is a hunter, good enough to have shot a wild turkey for her family's dinner last Thanksgiving. For Palin's first campaign appearance in Nevada, Tracy hoisted a sign that read "Hunter Chick 4 Palin" on one side...

During the years that Senator Joseph R. Aug. 24 (Bloomberg) -- Barack Obama's speech announcing his running mate Joe Biden singled out the Delaware senator's son who is headed for Iraq. Obama didn't mention the profession of Biden's other son, who lobbied for two drug companies and five universities. Hunter Biden, 38, described as a lawyer in the biography of his father distributed yesterday by the Obama campaign, lobbied for clients that paid his firm at least $380,000 in the first six months of this year, federal records show. Both Obama and Republican presidential rival John McCain have said lobbyists may not work on their campaigns. McCain...

In an interview on CNBC's "Squawk Box," billionaire Warren Buffett suggested that donors to the John Edwards for President Campaign might consider filing a class action lawsuit. "I think if I had given him money I'd probably be asking him for it back now" quipped the investor icon in a half serious, half joking manner. "I think if I were Edwards I might give up a haircut or two and return some of the money....if they (donors of the smaller amnounts) had known the facts they woudn't have sent him the money." Buffett's main problem with Edwards was the fact...

The sea crashes on to the rocky beach, with the marbled sand black and white, looking like paradise with the sound of norteño music lingering in the background, but this view is violently interrupted by a metallic wall, penetrating the sea, salted water responding to the aggression by corroding the metal sheets. Here, right under the light house, thousands of families have gathered for summer days, weekends and holidays, meeting to share, kiss, and hold hands, for over 30 years. Lone men coming from the US side to see their kids grow across the fence, while they cry in their...

WASHINGTON - John Edwards' political action committee paid his mistress $14,000 after she stopped working for it to obtain 100 hours of unused videotape she had shot for his unsuccessful presidential campaign, an associate told The Associated Press on Thursday. The woman, Rielle Hunter, already had been paid $100,000 for the programs. The explanation — which Edwards' advisers declined to discuss on the record — is the first effort to justify the payment in April 2007 to Hunter. That payment came months before Edwards' chief fundraiser quietly began sending money himself to the pregnant woman. Edwards last week acknowledged he...

"They loved money! All of them watching out for themselves." That's the Florida family environment fallen presidential wannabe John Edwards' mistress grew up in. So says Jupiter commodities trader Steve Smith, a longtime live-in boyfriend of one of Rielle Hunter's three sisters. That environment, according to Smith and records, included Dad, Ocala attorney and horseman James Druck. "He had a plane and a Ferrari," said Smith, who dated designer Jennifer Druck. "They (the girls) lived with him after his divorce from Rielle's mom. "I know their father was giving some of them money for a long time." Born Lisa Druck...

On Sunday, as I was sitting in my summer cabin in Vermont, completely absorbed in a New York Times story about John Edwards' affair with Rielle Hunter, I began reading a paragraph whose message shot through me like a sudden bolt of electrical current. The story centered on Ms. Hunter's refusal to take a DNA test to determine the paternity of her 5-month-old daughter, but that was not what startled me. It was this: "Ms. Hunter was born in Fort Lauderdale. Fla., in 1964 as Lisa Druck and moved to New York City in her 20s, becoming part of a...
