One of my very favorite Holmes actors. Nuttin' for Christmas - Hippos for Christmas. A funny Christmas piece for Jeremy Brett's Sherlock Holmes. And if you'd like to think of it as a Wassail song, Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock Holmes in All About Berries by Julia Ecklar. Boys Night Out!

I'm going to import and sell yellow vests as I see it as a booming market. Should my first order be 1,000,000 or 5,000,000 vests? Just askin'.

CBS GOLF ANNOUNCER David Feherty He said one day, "It would be easier to pick a broken nose, than a winner in that group." Feherty is a CBS and Golf Channel announcer, who finds very unique, colorful and uninhibited ways of explaining or describing whatever is on his mind ... (probably always on time delay these days). Feherty Quotes: "Fortunately, Rory is 22 years old so his right wrist should be the strongest muscle in his body." "That ball is so far left, Lassie couldn't find it if it was wrapped in bacon." "I am sorry Nick Faldo couldn't be...

A comedian has turned down a gig at a university after being asked to sign a "behavioural agreement" first. Konstantin Kisin was warned about a "no tolerance policy" on topics including racism, sexism and transphobia. He was asked to perform at a gig at the School of African and Oriental Studies (SOAS) in London, organised by university society Unicef on Campus. The group has since apologised and the Students' Union says it "believes fully in freedom of speech". Konstantin told Radio 1 Newsbeat the experience reflects a growing trend of free speech becoming stifled on university campuses across the UK....

THE GIANT CLAW Copyright 1957 Columbia Pictures Reviewed by Andrew Borntreger on 14 December 2007 (updated) Mitch MacAfee - Your all-purpose good guy: electronics engineer, sniper, ornithologist, physics wiz, ladies man, and test pilot. Fathers lock up your daughters, because he wears underwear that matches his cap, and it is leather. Sally Caldwell - That has to be the best rack I have ever seen on an adding machine. Her handling of a firearm would give a member of the USMC Shooting Team apoplexy to the tenth degree. I am at a loss how she hits anything. Pierre - A...

Jimmy Gressier wanted to finish in style. And while he did cross the line in a memorable fashion, it was probably not quite in the way he intended. The French runner had an eight second lead on his nearest challenger, Germany’s Samuel Fitwi, as he headed toward the finish line of the European Cross-Country Championships men’s U-23 race, according to European Athletics, the organization that hosts the event. After grabbing two French flags from the sidelines, Gressier, the defending champion, powered toward a final patch of mud just before the tape. Attempting to slide along the mud and across the...

"The Recently Discovered Journal of Alexander the Great" by Henry Livingston, published in the New-York Magazine of February, 1793. Read by Byron Nilsson and illustrated with a wide variety of art and illustration. After I retired, my wife insisted that I accompany her on her trips to Target, her store of choice. Unfortunately, like most men; I find shopping boring and prefer to get in and get out. Equally unfortunate, my wife is like most women - she loves to browse. Yesterday my dear wife received the following letter, from the local Target: Dear Mrs. Harris: Over the past six months, your husband has caused quite a few commotions in our store. We cannot tolerate this behavior and have been forced to ban both of you from the store. Our complaints against your...

A Russian astronomer observed the planets thru a telescope made of ice. Henry describes his observations. Ever wondered what the opinion of equality of the sexes was in 1789? Henry's position is that "Love, and all its delectable concomitants was utterly unknown there [on Venus]; as that passion exists but where equality is found or understood." Interesting?

Happy Hanukkah to all our Jewish readers around the world. On this penultimate "crazy night", I thought it appropriate to look out a slab of Hanukkah Hollywood, but the pickings are thin, save for this 2002 offering from my sometime fellow Granite Stater Adam Sandler. Born in Brooklyn, Sandler grew up in New Hampshire and was discovered in an LA comedy club by Dennis Miller, who recommended him to "Saturday Night Live". Eight Crazy Nights was a flop on its first release but has become something of a cult film, and is in its way a significant cultural artifact: a...

IN CASE YOU DIDN'T ALREADY KNOW THIS LITTLE TIDBIT OF WONDERFUL TRIVIA............... ON JULY 20, 1969, AS COMMANDER OF THE APOLLO 11 LUNAR MODULE, NEIL ARMSTRONG WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO SET FOOT ON THE MOON. HIS FIRST WORDS AFTER STEPPING ON THE MOON, "THAT'S ONE SMALL STEP FOR MAN, ONE GIANT LEAP FOR MANKIND," WERE TELEVISED TO EARTH AND HEARD BY MILLIONS. BUT, JUST BEFORE HE RE-ENTERED THE LANDER, HE MADE THE ENIGMATIC REMARK "GOOD LUCK, MR. GORSKY." MANY PEOPLE AT NASA THOUGHT IT WAS A CASUAL REMARK CONCERNING SOME RIVAL SOVIET COSMONAUT. HOWEVER, UPON CHECKING, THERE WAS NO...
