Carly spotted in Indiana Yesterday, we discussed rumors that Ted Cruz was vetting Carly Fiorina for the VP slot. Allegedly, he was going to announce his running mate early, in order to drum up some positive press, generate a little momentum, and make people forget about his then-impending East Coast drubbing. Now, as the Hoosier State is looking more and more like Cruz’s last chance to stop Trump, it appears like the big day has arrived.

It's the middle of winter, so backyard rinks are in full bloom. Many you see are of the no frills variety -- some wood acting as the boards and a fresh sheet of ice with hockey equipment littered on top. But for Justin Lachapelle, a resident of St-Lazare, Quebec, he's taken his love for the Montreal Canadiens and his ability to build a backyard rink to an entirely different level. Not only does his 64-by-32 rink have re-used boards from a local rink, painted lines and face-off circles to make it look like Bell Centre, there's also a dressing room...

Today's "we swear we're not the Onion" story: Dick Cheney has canceled a planned appearance in Toronto ... because he fears it could be too dangerous a trip to take. "He felt that in Canada the risk of violent protest was simply too high," explained the head of the promotions company that had scheduled the April 24 event at the apparently risky Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The National Post reminds us that Cheney reportedly got stuck inside a Vancouver building for seven hours during a September speech after a protest outside indeed turned violent and a security guard was choked.

A Michigan man who was aboard Northwest Airlines Flight 253 says he witnessed Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab trying to board the plane in Amsterdam without a passport, and believes at least one other person from the flight was arrested on Friday at Detroit Metro Airport. Kurt Haskell of Newport, Mich., who posted an earlier comment about his experience, talked exclusively with MLive.com and confirmed he was on the flight by sending a picture of his boarding pass. He and his wife, Lori, were returning from a safari in Uganda when they boarded the NWA flight on Friday. Kurt HaskellLori and...

Please excuse the Vanity post - I am desperate! I have a new PC with Windows 7. At odd times I loose the Internet connection. I know cable internet signal is coming through the router as other PCs in the system have connections. At first the lost connection was happening each time I would reboot. Now it happens at seemingly "random" times .... I realize it's probly not random, but I can't see a correlation yet ... and the connection usually comes back when I reboot again. The Dell tech support wants me to reinstall the windows software. That would...

I was reading the text of the interview between Kalb and Rather and learned that the Rather story on Bush's aborted National Guard service was thwarted by "blogs" called "Free Republic" and "Buckhead." I did find a Buckhead.org, but it just seems to be a bland Atlanta area news source, so I don't know the story in that. So I came here. And guess what? Nothing. Your story page is nothing more than boilerplate site/conservative mission comments. I really don't know why this blog is meaningful at all. I would guess the main stream media has nothing to worry about.

‘We’re not going to give up,’ PM vows By Julia SkikavichThe Canadian government won’t sit aside and just wait for the U.S. Congress to pass legislation in September that will permit drilling for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), says Prime Minister Paul Martin. “We’re not going to give up. I can tell you that – we are not going to give up,” Martin told the Star Monday during a telephone interview. “I have personally raised this on a number of occasions with the president (George W. Bush). I made it a major issue when we met in...

I Saw Fire In The Sky Judy Curmi 2-11-2005 This was a very vivid dream. The dream occurred on a bright sunny day. I was walking along a black-topped road. My mother and sister Rosie were with me. We were in an upscale salt-water community, perhaps along the coast of California or Florida. Along the sides of the road were guardrails made of steel rods and thick beams of wood painted white, in keeping with a nautical theme. To our right a ramp went down steeply to wooden docks holding a number of small pleasure craft. Due to the steepness...

Another New Democratic Private Member’s Bill supported by Liberals OTTAWA, February 25, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) – At the Federal Liberals’ national convention in March, party members will be asked to support the introduction of legislation to legalize protitution legal in Canada. If passed by the 2,000 delegates meeting from across Canada, the party would ask Parliament to remove section 213 of the Criminal Code, which currenlty prohibits the activity. National director of Young Liberals Denise Brunsdon said the issue is a priority on the convention agenda. “This is one of the few resolutions brought forward by the national executive themselves,” Brunsdon...

Judge found dead mouse in beer A US judge is seeking compensation after finding the body of a dead mouse in a bottle of beer. Judge Randy Anglen says he screamed and screamed when he saw the mouse - after finishing the bottle. Anglen, a judge in Hollister, Missouri, drank the bottle of Miller Lite at home one night after finishing work, reports the News-Leader. He drained the last bit into the sink, so he could put the bottle in his recycling bin, but heard a 'plop' as he put the bottle on his worktop. When he peered into it,...

Just caught the tail end of an ABC News special where Barbara Walters interviewed a number of Iraqi women about Saddam's regime. They recounted lots of horrible stories and showed some nasty video of chemical attacks, etc. After the segment, Barbara Walters discussed it with Peter Jennings. Her sympathy for the Iraqi women and the Iraqi people after 34 years of the Butcher of Baghdad was obvious. However, when it was Jennings turn to respond and comment he turned the entire segment around and blamed the plight of the Iraqi people on America. "To be fair", he claimed, "they left...
