A Hooters location in Charleston, West Virginia, saw hundreds gather for a candlelight vigil in honor of the building being demolished to make way for a gas station. The controversial reparations committee in San Francisco had to postpone a meeting after one of its members got stuck in Colombia where he visited Hooters. The far-left city of San Francisco approved a task force in 2021 that aimed to study “financial compensation, community programs and other ways to make reparations to the descendants of slaves,” according to the Daily Mail. PLANO, Texas - A manager of a Hooters restaurant was brutally attacked last week all over some chocolate bars. The fight happened on Oct. 6 at the Hooters off Central Expressway near Southwestern Avenue in Plano. (WESH) - An 11-year-old Florida boy and his father say there was no reason for the fifth grader’s teacher and principal to tell him his Hooters-themed mask was “offensive to women” and couldn’t be worn at school. Greg Golba and his 11-year-old son Ian don’t understand why the boy had to remove his Hooters mask on Tuesday at Sunset Park Elementary School in Windermere, Florida. Hooters of America LLC has eliminated 416 jobs at 14 corporate-owned North Carolina restaurants in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. That includes 30 employees each at its 3031 High Point Road restaurant in Greensboro and 3122 Garden Road in Burlington. The restaurant chain made the employee reduction decision March 23. A federal court ruling over a ban on women going topless in public has essentially made it legal for women to go topless in public in Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, Kansas, and Oklahoma, according to a local TV station. Black women in San Francisco are disproportionately arrested compared with their white counterparts, according to a new analysis of state arrest data from the Center on Criminal and Juvenile Justice. Black women represent 5.8% of the city’s female population, but accounted for 45.5% of all female arrests in 2013, according to the report from the nonprofit, which works to reduce incarceration. For arrests related to weapons and narcotics—both felonies—black women made up 77% and 68% of all female arrests, respectively.
