The Romeike family PURCELLVILLE, VA, July 2, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) - On June 26, the Department of Justice submitted a brief to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals stating Germany's laws that suppress religious homeschooling aim at promoting "tolerance" and are not grounds for claiming persecution. Homeschooling is illegal in Germany under a law dating back to the Hitler era, and in recent years the country has become increasingly draconian in enforcing the law – removing children from their families, levying heavy fines, even sentencing homeschooling parents to jail. The German Supreme Court has stated that the purpose of the homeschool ban is to “counteract the development of religious...

Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) and Rep. James Sensenbrenner Jr. (R-Wis.), the chairman of the subcommittee on investigations, sent a letter to Holder on Wednesday detailing specific aspects of his testimony that they say conflicts with subsequent media reports about Holder’s involvement in the surveillance of James Rosen,...

As a freshman at Columbia University in 1970, future Attorney General Eric Holder participated in a five-day occupation of an abandoned Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) headquarters with a group of black students later described by the university’s Black Students’ Organization as “armed,” The Daily Caller has learned. Department of Justice spokeswoman Tracy Schmaler has not responded to questions from The Daily Caller about whether Holder himself was armed — and if so, with what sort of weapon. Holder was then among the leaders of the Student Afro-American Society (SAAS), which demanded that the former ROTC office be renamed...

President Barack Obama’s deputies have quadrupled the number of signatures that petitioners on the administration’s “We the People” website must collect to get an official response from the White House, following a series of popular, provocative and disrespectful signature drives by his critics. Some of the petitions sought approval for states to secede after Obama’s re-election, while others called on the White House to disavow executive orders that restrict gun rights, or to deport CNN’s British-born, progressive host Piers Morgan. “Starting today, as we move into a second term, petitions must receive 100,000 signatures in 30 days in order to...

Dozens of voters in Pueblo County, Colorado have claimed electronic voting machines have changed their votes for Mitt Romney to votes for President Barack Obama. The Pueblo County Republican Party has asked the Colorado Secretary of State's office to investigate the matter. A voter told KRDO Newschannel 13 that a checkmark appeared next to Obama's name after she cast her vote for Romney. "I wonder where my vote really counted," she stated. Pueblo County Clerk and Recorder Gilbert Ortiz admitted he was aware of "fewer than ten instances" of votes being switched and conceded such errors have occurred since the...

But I'm sure Eric Holder will launch a thorough investigation any second now.... SNIP Once again, the votes of our best and brightest are suppressed, while the Obama administration tacitly encourages illegal immigrants, felons and the dead to vote Democrat. You know what we need to do on November 6th. And hopefully the margin of victory will be sufficient to represent a complete and total repudiation of the Democrat Party. Flush twice. It's the only way to be sure.

Imagine going to vote for your presidential candidate and pushing the button on a touch-screen voting machine -- but the "X" marks his opponent instead. That is what some voters in Nevada, North Carolina, Texas and Ohio have reported. But in response to the growing number of complaints, the Republican National Committee has sent a letter to election officials in six states -- Ohio, Nevada, Kansas, North Carolina, Missouri and Colorado -- demanding tighter controls on touch-screen machines. Multiple voters from several states wrote Fox News to report problems similar to what Stevens reported. "While it is possible for a...

Full Title:..Report: Fast and Furious a product of DOJ ‘deliberate strategy’ laid out by Eric Holder, other senior Obama officials... The latest congressional report on Operation Fast and Furious found that the gunwalking-program-turned-scandal was the result of a “deliberate strategy created at the highest levels of the Justice Department aimed at identifying the leaders of a major gun trafficking ring.” The report is the second installment in a three-part series from Senate Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Sen. Chuck Grassley and House oversight committee Chairman Rep. Darrell Issa. That “deliberate strategy,” congressional investigators argue, sprang from “a series of speeches about...

Maricopa County, AZ Sheriff Joe Arpaio may be facing an onslaught of negative ads and out-of-state activists funded by leftist billionaire George Soros bent on his defeat, but it isn't stopping him from doing his job. Sheriff Joe's deputies captured 11 illegal aliens and three U.S. citizens smuggling them into the country during a traffic stop - the kind that the Obama Administration and ACLU want to stop him from performing so illegals can go free. Two of the three smugglers were armed with semi-automatic weapons and have extensive criminal records, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said. This brings Joe's...

After government-trafficked guns were found at the murder scene of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry in 2010, higher-ups all the way to the White House started scrambling to cover their tracks. The gun-walking program known as Operation Fast and Furious came to a head two years later on June 20, 2012, when the House voted to hold the United States attorney general in contempt for lying to Congress. The same day of the House vote, the president himself publicly stepped into the fray. Obama invoked executive privilege in order to prevent long-awaited subpoenaed documents from seeing the light of day....

Here they are thanks to The Media Research Center : Napolitano : Tell me, Mr. Holder, why did you not get a court order authorizing you to go in and get the boy (Elian Gonzalez)? Holder : Because we didn’t need a court order. INS can do this on its own. Napolitano : You know that a court order would have given you the cloak of respectability to have seized the boy. Holder : We didn’t need an...
