KatiePavlich Katie Pavlich Jun 19, 05:46 PM MEETING OVER: Contempt still lives, DOJ didn't produce documents #fastandfurious
Latest news on Issa's meeting with Holder which apparently has just finished FWIW.
promise, . . delay, . . promise, . . . delay a little more . . .
He’s stonewalling to make it through November and he knows Romney doesn’t have the balls to investigate once/if he wins.
Go for the contempt vote Darryl! You’ve been more than reasonable and you have the backing of the people.
What a surprise. Pfft...
rut roh...here comes the strongly worded letter.
These people in Congress work for us and they had better start earning their wages.
WE demand those documents or the pulling of the plug on our head attorney!
Washington is turning into a joke since 0bama and we the people need to get our government back!
1. Treasury Secretary is a tax-evader
2. Atty General exports machine-guns to drug-dealers
3. POTUS is a bisexual muslim from Kenya who consorted with terrorists
Very complete picture.
Holder seems to have gotten himself into a little problem. Turn over documents show he lied, don’t turn them over and he could be held in contempt (if Republican have any guts left).
Obama and Holder use the same tactics as the Iranians............
I bet TIME doesn't do it this time......
The spineless GOP will not act.
Can the public in general handle the trauma of such a letter?
Perhaps the reaction should be toned down a bit for humanity's sake.
what happens if they actually have the stones to hold Holder in contemp of congress? ..... NOTHING
.
Holder only agreed to meet with Issa to say he’s going to need another five months to get the documents together.
UPDATE from ISSA:

Get ready for the talking points on talk shows tonight...
Republicans are evil demanding Holder turn over documents.
Republcians can’t tolerate a black man in office.
Republicans are playing politics.
Blah, blah, blah....
Sunni or Shiaa? Which head of the beast does he bow to?
Excellent news. Issa must have somehow persuaded the spineless Speaker of The House to simmer down.
“While the law pronounces the duty of the U.S. Attorney is to impanel a grand jury for its action on the matter, some proponents of the unitary executive theory believe that the Congress cannot properly compel the U.S. Attorney to take this action against the Executive Branch, asserting that the U.S. Attorney is a member of the Executive Branch who ultimately reports only to the President and that compelling the Attorney amounts to compelling the President himself. They believe that to allow Congress to force the President to take action against a subordinate following his directives would be a violation of the separation of powers and infringe on the power of the Executive branch. The legal basis for this belief, they contend, can be found in Federalist 49, in which James Madison wrote “The several departments being perfectly co-ordinate by the terms of their common commission, none of them, it is evident, can pretend to an exclusive or superior right of settling the boundaries between their respective powers. This approach to government is commonly known as “departmentalism or coordinate construction” Wikipedia
Holder NEVER intended to turn over the documents! He knows he doesn’t have to do a damn thing he doesn’t want to do. He flaunted the law during Clinton what has changed? Obama is even more corrupt than Clintons (& I thought I would never say that!).
More of a joke, at least.
Word is on The Hill that Holder is guilty, the GOP has the goods on him in the docs, and that Issa isn’t bluffing - nor is Boehner or Cantor.
Holder was mighty nervous in his statement in Statuary Hall moments ago.
What did the President know and when did he know it?
I was under the impression that Congress already has the documents (emails) they’re requesting from Holder. They were provided by the whistleblower — but they can’t use them because of the way the whistleblower obtained them. Congress has to get stuff “by the book”. Not sure if this is true, or where/when I heard this — but FWIW...
Hey, didn’t I see a story that Issa gave Holder an ultimatum in Breaking News yesterday? ...I see Issa wimped out again.
Did Eric Holder come to say that he wanted to negotiate??? Did he tell Issa he was only following orders??? Grab the popcorn folks, this is going to get good!!!
They can use the documents anyway they want. There is enough info in them plus testimony to send Holder up the river.

So Issa is going to give it to that scofflaw Holder. Well good.
Oh yeah, I'm a sure as I can be that the Democrats would hold off using whistleblower e-mails because they're not "by the book" if the shoe was on the other foot. Why, I can just imagine Nancy Pelosi admonishing Henry Waxman for even thinking about using leaked e-mails against a Republican President, especially if those e-mails were direct confirmation that the Attorney General had lied to congressional investigators.
I think that the end of day Tuesday is what has been discussed ever since last week. It started by saying that Contempt Vote would be scheduled for the First of this Week and Friday Holder said he would meet and comply so they wouldn’t have to hold a vote — he was given to end of day today and they have now stuck to it.
If Issa makes the contempt motion in committee tomorrow, he has held to what he said a week ago.
Stop this pussy footing around by the Republicans and bring this to a head now. How many months do the Republicans need to get their balls.
For every hour that (With)Holder gets a further delay, how many more shredded documents is that?
what happens to him if he’s held in contempt?
Looks like the country might be taking a slight turn back to the rule of law. Was kinda looking forward to ignoring all of DC’s laws. What’s good for the Goose is good for the Gandor. Looks like this Goose might be getting cooked, though.
The MSM outlets all create polls to show this is a terrible development for Republicans.
And I used to think Denny Hastert was a disappointment. Sheesh!
Year and a half later - not one person fired, demoted, etc.
FUBO!!!
FUEH!!!!
It reminds me of Cliff Claven on Cheers when he and the psychiatrist were going to fight....but FIRST,....they spent 6 hours exhausting themselves on declaring the rules. Grown men either mean what they say or they are not respected. In this case Holder runs to the microphone and camera and begins to defecate on Issa. There can be no reasonable explaination for republicans to set themselves up as feckless, nutless dupes.
Mr. Issa say what you mean or shut up. You only make youself a characature of vapidity.
Just why aren’t these people who supplied guns to the mexi-narcos in jail for abetting the killing of our border agents and for the killing of 30,000 mexicans? I have never seen such a combination of lawlessness (nobama & his anti-Am,erican minions) and feckless wimpishness (congress).
Oy vey!

You're kidding, right?
Exactly right...
Following a contempt citation, the person cited is arrested by the Sergeant-at-Arms for the House or Senate, brought to the floor of the chamber, held to answer charges by the presiding officer, and then subjected to punishment as the chamber may dictate (usually imprisonment for punishment reasons, imprisonment for coercive effect, or release from the contempt citation).
Imprisonment is usually for days like 10 or so.
What did you expect Issa to do, make a citizens's arrest or just shoot him on the spot?
