  • "Madam” Clinton for President

As I was looking at the Sunday evening tv schedule, it suddenly hit me that the one title Hillary Clinton should want to avoid is “Madam”. When I noticed the title of the show “Madam Secretary” I remembered something drill sergeants warned us about during basic training at Fort Leonard Wood in 1968. At that time women in the army were in the Women’s Army Corps.

I would encourage all Americans to watch the Planned Parenthood videos and face the stark reality of a practice we are funding In the year 402 A.D., a diminutive monk named “Telemachus,” then living in the hinterland of the Roman Empire, felt a call to leave his obscure monastery and visit the city of Rome. He didn’t know why, but he believed he was following God’s leading. Upon entering the city, Telemachus was pushed along by the crowds into the Colosseum where gladiatorial contests were being held to celebrate the recent victory over the Gauls. Telemachus had never witnessed a...
  • Enormous monolith, carved 9350 years ago, found under Mediterranean Sea

    08/08/2015 11:37:46 PM PDT · by 2ndDivisionVet · 50 replies
A 12-METRE monolith, hacked out of limestone by stone-age humans some nine thousand years ago, has been found at the bottom of the Mediterranean. The enormous stone totem, now split in two and sitting in the Sicilian Channel between Tunisia and Sicily, was hewed from a rocky outcrop some 300m away when the Mediterranean Sea was still a dry basin. It’s now under 40m of water. The new study, published in the Journal of Archaeological Science, says the area was submerged about 9350 years ago (give or take 200 years) when the last Ice Age retreated. Before that time the...
  • Lois Lerner: Lincoln Should’ve Let the South Go Instead of Civil War

Most Americans tend to agree that Abraham Lincoln was one of this country’s better presidents, having saved the nation from imploding on itself with the Civil War. Former IRS chief Lois Lerner, however, does not apparently have the same thoughts about keeping the South in the union. “Look my view is that Lincoln was our worst president not our best,” Lerner wrote in 2014. “He should (have) let the south go. We really do seem to have 2 totally different mindsets.” The Senate Finance Committee released a report yesterday that examined 1.5 million pages of IRS emails. A significant focus...

Wednesday, August 05, 2015 No More Mr. Nice Conservative Posted by Daniel Greenfield @ the Sultan Knish blog There is nothing that corrupts conservatives quite as much as the need to be nice. Conservatives are natural optimists who see the world as being basically a nice place. They are nice because they think that the world is nice. That worldview is not reciprocated by the other side. Where conservatives see a country store, liberals see an oppressive outpost of capitalism. Where conservatives see a family, liberals see abusive patriarchy, oppressive gender norms, religious indoctrination and apple pie. Our current broken...

When Muslims Burn Jews Alive The Muslim war of fire against Israel’s Jews. August 7, 2015 Daniel Greenfield Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center, is a New York writer focusing on radical Islam. The world was outraged when ISIS burned a man in a cage, but Muslim terrorists have been burning Jews alive with little outrage and less attention. This war, in which cars and buses are torched with families still inside, is not the work of a tiny minority of extremists. Its perpetrators have the support of the Palestinian Authority. Some have been...

Forty-six years.That’s how long William Wilberforce labored to see the end of slavery in the British Empire. His work began in earnest in 1787 when he first came into contact with abolitionists such as Thomas Clarkson, Hannah More and Charles Middleton. These activists found a kindred spirit in Wilberforce, whose conversion to the Christian faith had given birth to an abiding concern for social reform—so much so, in fact, that he wrote in his diary, “God Almighty has set before me two great objects, the suppression of the slave trade and the reformation of manners.”The dark and dehumanizing practice of slavery weighed heavy on him. He first...

If you have ever read this blog, you know I am a politically junkie.  I love politics and watch and read everything about it.  And now with the Presidential election and the "Trump Tornado" streaking across the nation like Superman trying to reverse time, I am being inundated with conservatives calling, texting & emailing me in a lather stricken with the "Trump Fascination Syndrome". And everyone of them asks me in the same enthusiastic whisper, "Hey Mike,  Whatta ya think about Trump?"  And before I am able to muster a coherent response, they immediately follow up with the question,...

“The purpose of propaganda is not the personal instruction of the individual, but rather to attract public attention to certain things, the importance of which can be brought home to the masses only by this means. Here the art of propaganda consists in putting a matter so clearly and forcibly before the minds of the people as to create a general conviction regarding the reality of a certain fact…it must appeal to the feelings of the public rather than to their reasoning power,” wrote Adolf Hitler in Mein Kampf. Hitler continued, “The aim of propaganda is not to try to...
  • Goliath Gates: Entrance to Famous Biblical Metropolis Uncovered

A massive gate unearthed in Israel may have marked the entrance to a biblical city that, at its heyday, was the biggest metropolis in the region. The town, called Gath, was occupied until the ninth century B.C. In biblical accounts, the Philistines — the mortal enemies of the Israelites — ruled the city. The Old Testament also describes Gath as the home of Goliath, the giant warrior whom the Israelite King David felled with a slingshot. The new findings reveal just how impressive the ancient Philistine city once was, said lead archaeologist of the current excavation, Aren Maeir, of Bar-Ilan...

Christians With Their Heads In The Sand Friday, July 31, 2015 I recall how history tells us of the German people living next to the gas chambers, ignoring the smell and horror of over six million Jews being slaughtered, and then acting as though they didn't know it had happened. I can also recall that Eisenhower was so disgusted with these callused and unconcerned people that he made them face their denial by marching them all past the dead and decaying piles of corpses of the slaughtered Jews within these electrified wire compounds. Get where I am going with this?...

Donald Trump’s burst upon the political scene has caused the most excitement in Washington since stripper Fannie Foxe, the girlfriend of House Ways and Committee Chairman, Wilbur Mills (D-AR), jumped from his limo into the Potomac River tidal basin at 2 AM to escape incarceration by the Capitol Police. But in an effort to better understand presidential candidate Trump, I turned to his autobiography, TRUMP – The Art of the Deal. In Part I of The Donald Phenomenon, we learned that “The Donald” is brash, dedicated, determined, and isn’t easily deterred from seeking his objectives. Hillary and friends are saying...

It began quietly enough. A talking head on television would say it’s unfair to expect the robust economic boom of the 90s again; we had the “peace dividend” to thank for it, and it’s not like the Soviet Union is going to fall again. Or a columnist reminds us of the invention of the modern computer in the early 80s, and then the arrival of the internet age in the 90s; such technological breakthroughs were a once-in-history occurrence; they’re responsible for the booms we remember, nothing else. Or some caller on the radio, aged and experienced, with opinions fortified by...
  • What Would Have Happened if Germany Had Invaded the U.S. During World War II?

Invading the North American mainland can be safely left in the realm of bad Hollywood films. And that's even today, with larger ships, jet cargo aircraft, and more people. While it makes for a great strategy, in the end, it's just a nonstarter. Why? The Germans had no forward base in the New World. If they had seized Iceland, any of the French protectorates in the Caribbean, or northern South America, then an invasion, while still a stretch, could have been conceivable. Without forward bases to deploy to and from, an invasion isn't going to happen.

Sunday, August 02, 2015 A Tour of Our Decadent Civilization Posted by Daniel Greenfield @ the Sultan Knish blog Civilizations normally go through three stages; Barbaric, Vigorous and Decadent. It's easy to find examples of barbaric and decadent civilizations. We can find all the barbaric civilizations to suit an entire faculty's worth of anthropologists in the Middle East. And then back home we can see the decadent civilization that employs their kind to bemoan the West. Vigorous is what America used to be when it was moving west, producing at record rates and becoming a world power. Decadent is what...

In his fourth book, "American Nations: A History of the Eleven Rival Regional Cultures in North America," award-winning author Colin Woodard identifies 11 distinct cultures that have historically divided the US. "The country has been arguing about a lot of fundamental things lately including state roles and individual liberty," Woodard, a Maine native who won the 2012 George Polk Award for investigative reporting, told Business Insider. "[But] in order to have any productive conversation on these issues," he added, "you need to know where you come from. Once you know where you are coming from it will help move the...

And the organizations did what they do best. They expressed concern. The ADL was “deeply concerned” about the Iran nuclear deal two years ago. It announced that it now has “cause for concern”. It’s unknown whether the next ADL boss, Obama crony Jonathan A. Greenblatt, it also concerned, but it...
