Robert Pondisco of the American Enterprise Institute responded to a query on Twitter/X yesterday on the question of why academic writing is so awful. His pithy answer: The opacity of academic prose arises from the epistemological imperative to operationalize disciplinary jargon, facilitating intra-specialized discourse while obfuscating heterogenous interpretive accessibility and perpetuating a recursive dialectic of erudition and exclusion. Yup, that pretty much nails it. My young philosopher pal Spencer Case got the wise idea in his head to ask ChatGPT to render the Gettysburg Address as written by postmodern/radical feminist icon Judith Butler, and this is the result: In a...

President Joe Biden’s National Security Council (NSC) hosted the head of Rahma Worldwide, a health nonprofit that has collaborated with Hamas on multiple occasions, the Washington Examiner reported. The NSC met with Shadi Zaza, Rahma Worldwide’s CEO, and other Syrian-American community leaders on Sept. 11 in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building to discuss how the U.S. can best counter the Assad regime in Syria, the Examiner reported. Zaza’s group, however, signed a cooperation agreement with Hamas in August, and Zaza himself was photographed alongside Hamas officials days before the terrorist organization carried out attacks in Israel on Oct. 7, 2023....

Could this be the end of the Trudeau regime at last? VIDEOS AT LINK................ On September 4th, Jagmeet Singh, leader of Canada’s socialist New Democratic Party (NDP), publicly announced that he pulled the plug on his agreement with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. This deal has kept Trudeau’s shaky minority government afloat, preventing it from falling to a vote of no confidence. If Singh follows through, Trudeau’s government could finally collapse, triggering a new election and giving Canadians a long-awaited chance to oust him from power. This isn’t just Canadian political theater—this could signal the end of Trudeau’s regime. To clarify...

At the Trump-Harris debate, moderator David Muir attempted to disprove Trump's claim that crime increased during Biden's time as president by citing FBI data. Muir neglected to mention data from 6,000 jurisdictions is missing. Another method of measuring the crime rate is the Bureau of Justice Statistics National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS). It shows that total violent crime rose by 55% since Biden took office while it declined by 15% during Trump's term in office. https://crimeresearch.org/2024/09/new-bureau-of-justice-statistics-crime-data-just-released-violent-crime-rape-robbery-and-aggravated-assault-soaring-under-biden/ Trump's claim that criminals are using our open southern border to illegally enter the country has been verified by the actions of Venezuela's notorious...

A Secret Service whistleblower revealed that would-be assassin Ryan Wesley Routh had inside information on the security vulnerabilities at Donald Trump’s West Palm Beach golf course. Routh was able to set up a sniper’s nest with a perfect range just roughly 300 yards from Trump. Senator Josh Hawley wrote in a letter: “A whistleblower with direct knowledge of Secret Service protection of former President Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach — an individual who has in fact protected President Trump at that very location — alleges that there are ‘known vulnerabilities’ in the fence line surrounding the course: places...

Years of extremely inflammatory rhetoric from the mainstream media and from many of our leaders have brought us to the brink of a societal nightmare. The numbers that I am about to share with you are horrifying, but it is so important for us to understand what is ahead of us. In an article that I posted yesterday, I discussed the recent attempt on Trump’s life and I stated that “there are some that truly wish that he had been killed”. Unfortunately, that was a tremendous understatement. According to a survey that was conducted after the most recent attempt on...

Tesla CEO Elon Musk is being investigated for his now-deleted post questioning the assassination attempt against former president Donald Trump. Musk’s post caught the attention of the Secret Service after he questioned the lack of attempts on the lives of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. “And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala,” Musk wrote on X. The X owner then followed up with a reply to his own post, writing: “Well, one lesson I’ve learned is that just because I say something to a group and they laugh doesn’t mean it’s going to be all...

Right now, the trillion dollars per year interest payments on federal debt exceed the entire budget of the Department of Defense. Former President Trump warns "this will bankrupt the country. We won't have the money to pay for anything else--no roads, no schools, no military, no medical care. We desperately need the government efficiency commission I have proposed for my second term." Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen called Trump's warning "unduly pessimistic. The federal government is not limited in the same way that a household or business is limited when it comes to acquiring the money it needs to...

Among the shortcomings of the Articles of Confederation was the near impossibility of amending them to meet pressing needs regarding taxation and commerce. In 1787-1788, the lower threshold to amend the Constitution per Article V overcame Anti-Federalist reluctance to form a new Union. From the time the federal convention sent the draft Constitution to the Confederation Congress and states, many Anti-Federalists demanded a second convention, preferably before federal elections and the establishment of a new government. Not only the Anti-Federalists, but few Federalists were entirely satisfied with the Constitution as written. The difference was that Federalists were satisfied that Article...

Tattooed Cockney podcaster Russell Brand said it best: “If science and progress are the solution to all our problems, then it’s important that pharmaceutical companies and science more generally can be presented as the solution to the problem of coronavirus. If science caused coronavirus by ‘gain of function’ experimentation—[singing] meddling in the Lord’s domain – then our whole cultural narrative of science and progress as the driving force for all human endeavour, that starts to collapse and fall apart.”* With Big Pharma directors on the boards of mainstream media outlets and spending US$6 billion yearly on advertising, Brand continues, “If...

Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) went on CNN's "The Lead" and disagreed with Jake Tapper's assumption that "Vice-President Harris needs to let people know where she stands on specific policies and how her policies will affect them," saying "I advised both Harris and Walz to avoid doing anymore interviews. Their joy and unity campaign has already gotten them the lead in the polls." "You know, FDR, the greatest Democrat of all-time, ran on a similarly vague campaign with a catchy show tune 'Happy Days Are Here Again' and a non-specific 'new deal' and won in a landslide," Clyburn pointed out. "Why...

Kamala Harris has sat for just one and a half interviews since she was anointed the Democratic nominee. Meanwhile, Donald Trump just survived a second assassination attempt. So, it’s seemingly easier to threaten the life of the Republican nominee than it is to interview the Democratic one. That really says all you need to know about the state of American politics. Harris has dodged, dipped, ducked, dived and dodged interviews as much as possible. She sat for one with CNN alongside her running mate, apparently needing a big strong man like Tim Walz to shield her from all the not-so-tough...

The man in custody in connection with what is being described as a second attempt to assassinate former President Donald Trump was vocal about U.S. support for Ukraine and has a long criminal and civil court history, including a conviction for possessing a machine gun. Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, was taken into custody after Secret Service agents fired shots at him at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday, three senior law enforcement sources said. In 2002, court records show, he was convicted of possessing a weapon of mass destruction — a machine gun. In that...

Former Secret Service agent, author, and Conservative podcaster Dan Bongino predicted another security “incident” just weeks before the second assassination attempt on former president Donald Trump at his West Palm Beach golf club in Florida on Sunday. In August, Rep. Eli Crane, R-Ariz., asked Bongino, “Is the Secret Service in a better spot today with Director Rowe in charge?” “No, it’s worse,” Bongino replied. He then predicted that “something else” would happen, adding, “I pray to my Lord and savior Jesus Christ that I’m wrong.” “[If] you think this is the last incident, you’re out of your mind,” he said....

[TWEETS & VIDEOS AT LINK] Tinfoil hat time. By no means am I going to convince anyone with this short article that Ryan Wesley Routh (or Thomas Michael Crooks, for that matter) is an asset for the Deep State. That is not the intention because to “prove” it would be as impossible as “proving” anything the Deep State does. All I want is for our readers to ask questions. And for this particular exercise we won’t look into all of the curious circumstances surrounding Crooks, the first would-be Trump assassin; perhaps some other day we’ll do that. Routh’s attempted assassination...

The wife of Alexander Vindman, the man behind Donald Trump’s impeachment, mocked the attempted assassination of Donald Trump Sunday afternoon at the hands of a fellow Ukraine loyalist. “No ears were harmed. Carry on with your Sunday afternoon,” Rachel Vindman wrote, dismissing the attempted killing of a former president and making light of how he was actually shot in the head two months ago. “Sorry you’re triggered. I mean no I’m not. I don’t care a little bit,” she added. Alexander and Eugene Vindman are Ukrainian twins who joined the U.S. military and made their way into the National Security...

MSNBC anchor Alex Witt questioned Sunday whether former President Donald Trump and his campaign needed to tone down their rhetoric after the 2024 GOP nominee faced an apparent would-be assassin for the second time in three months. Trump was playing a round and had reportedly just finished the fifth hole at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach when shots were fired, which were later confirmed to be from the scene where Secret Service agents engaged what the FBI is investigating as an assassination attempt on Trump. At the time of the MSNBC discussion on Sunday’s Alex Witt Reports,...

Young women are more liberal than they have been in decades, according to a Gallup analysis of more than 20 years of polling data. Over the past few years, about 4 in 10 young women between the ages of 18 and 29 have described their political views as liberal, compared with two decades ago when about 3 in 10 identified that way. For many young women, their liberal identity is not just a new label. The share of young women who hold liberal views on the environment, abortion, race relations and gun laws has also jumped by double digits, Gallup...

Putin has warned long-range strikes from Ukraine would be a reason for all-out war against NATO and the United States by association. “This will mean that NATO countries – the United States and European countries – are at war with Russia. And if this is the case, then, bearing in mind the change in the essence of the conflict, we will make appropriate decisions in response to the threats that will be posed to us,” Putin told journalists on September 12.
