Marc Lamont Hill Calls Obama ‘Murderer’ After Asking Media To Stop ‘Language Of Violence’by Frances Martel | 7:36 pm, January 12th, 2011 The political rhetoric debate that has arisen in light of the likely schizophrenia-induced Arizona massacre this weekend has led to a whole lot of line-drawing on what media personalities can and cannot say. That doesn’t mean that some haven’t been immediately– and egregiously– crossing them. Take Columbia University professor Marc Lamont Hill, who called for rhetoric to be toned down nearly in the same breath as calling Barack Obama a “murderer.” **SNIP** After protesting that he has done...

The question on everyone’s mind: Why didn’t the United States do more to prevent the progress of North Korea’s uranium-enrichment program? Regrettably, the answer to this question is even more disconcerting than the disclosure itself. Intelligence amassed over the course of nearly two decades on North Korea’s uranium-enrichment program has been an inconvenient truth for most U.S. officials involved in North Korea policy through consecutive U.S. political administrations — but nowhere was this delusion in more abundance than in the latter years of the George W. Bush administration, in which I served as the director for counterproliferation strategy, covering North...

Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas) is denying that he has used opposition research in an effort to undermine a rival in the race for the chairmanship of the Energy and Commerce Committee. Media outlets have reported that Barton helped orchestrate an anonymous analysis of Rep. Fred Upton's (R-Mich.) voting record that conservative activists are using to argue Upton is too moderate to lead the committee.

Republican Todd Young has defeated five-term Democratic Rep. Baron Hill in southern Indiana's 9th district, dealing Democrats a second loss in congressional seats they held in the state.

Baron Hill has represented the 9th District of Indiana in the U.S. House of Representatives for 10 of the last 12 years. During that time, Hill has been a part of the Blue Dog Coalition, a group of Democrats who consider themselves to be moderate-to-conservatives on many issues, especially fiscal ones. While Hill may have had Blue Dog credentials in the past, over the last couple of years he has revealed his true colors. Along with the liberal wing of the Democratic Party, Hill has voted for the failed stimulus package, the healthcare reform act and the cap-and-trade energy bill....

What do you think? Should Anita Hill apologize?
-
WASHINGTON – Virginia Thomas, wife of Clarence Thomas, left a voice mail for Anita Hill over the weekend seeking an apology from Hill for accusing the future Supreme Court associate justice of sexual harassment during his 1991 confirmations hearings, Hill said in an interview tonight. Hill is now a professor of the Brandeis University Heller School of Social Policy and Management, in Waltham. She said she alerted campus security because she thought the voice mail was a prank. But she has since learned it was genuine.

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Americans United for Life is targeting three pro-abortion Democrats in tight election contests with radio ads talking about abortion issues. The ads are also meant to be the first by the group following a Supreme Court decision striking down some of the McCain-Feingold advertising limits. AUL Action, a 501(c)4 lobbying organization, has its ads set on Reps. John Boccieri of Ohio, Christopher Carney of Pennsylvania and Baron Hill of Indiana They are meant to test the latitude given to such groups to communicate with the public about candidates in the Supreme Court's decision in January overturning...

At a quick glance, Young, the Republican suitor for the seat currently held by Democrat Baron Hill, appears to have all the qualities of a promising politician. He is a 38-year-old father of four and a Marine-turned deputy prosecutor with television-ready good looks and natural charisma. But Young is more about ideas than image. During a recent interview in his spare campaign office near Bloomington's downtown, he discussed policy and philosophy with a wonkish zeal. This should come as no surprise since his education includes degrees from the Naval Academy and the Universities of both Chicago and London. Because of...

The race issue is once again at the forefront with organizations like the NAACP calling for the Tea Party to purge itself of racists and denounce them. Good, fine, I for one do so with no regret. Racism has no place in an enlightened society and damn sure no place in any organization that I am a part of. Now that I have done my part I call on the NAACP and organization like it to purge themselves of racists and denounce them as well. What? You say that black people cannot be racists? What a ludicrous supposition. This type...

He has already missed his own self-imposed deadline, and President Obama's plans to close the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, suffered more setbacks last week when lawmakers on both sides of the Capitol took steps to block him. On Friday the full House voted 282-131 to prevent Mr. Obama from transferring any of the detainees being held at Guantanamo to the United States, while the Senate Armed Services Committee passed a bill Thursday stopping Mr. Obama from buying a new prison to house the detainees.

If a picture is worth a thousand words then what are a thousand crosses worth? How bout 100,000 crosses? The Hill of Crosses boasts in excess of 100,000 crosses to remind on-lookers of the sacrifice that Jesus Christ paid for the sins of mankind.

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama signed an order Thursday unilaterally creating a bipartisan commission to rein in unruly deficits after Congress rejected a similar body with considerably more enforcement power. In making the announcement, Obama said that unless lawmakers put aside partisan differences, the continuing red-ink trend could "hobble our economy."

Susan Hill, a national women's rights advocate and the owner of several abortion clinics around the country, died last week from breast cancer. Hill, who made her home in Raleigh, was 61. Hill focused on establishing clinics in rural areas, where women had no access to abortion services, and opened more than anyone else in the United States, sometimes drawing 1,000 protesters at a time. She sued protesters 34 times for blocking entrances and physically preventing women from going in. "She's probably the toughest person I ever knew," said her older brother Dan Hill, who lives in Durham. "She's...

WASHINGTON, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- President Obama prepared to rally Senate Democrats Sunday on a healthcare bill bogged down by abortion, a public option and a Medicare panel, officials said. Obama was to meet with Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and other Senators in a rare Sunday session ahead of possible debate Monday on key amendments. Conservative Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Neb., has threatened to filibuster reform legislation unless it contains restrictions on abortion coverage and the Senate has yet to find common ground on a government-run public option for health insurance. Also up for discussion is the scope of an...

Ok, what are we to make of this tweet from Mary Katherine Ham…(via J$) On @oreillyfactor with @marclamonthill (Juan’s out) at 8ish, talking Iran and Obama. Tune in to see us! After Hill’s very public “firing” by Rupert Murdoch no less, seeing Hill back on FNC this soon is rather odd. I mean there isn’t even a wind chill in Hades yet…
