On North Korea, a Bipartisan Failure
NRO ^ | 11.24.10 | Carolyn Leddy

The question on everyone’s mind: Why didn’t the United States do more to prevent the progress of North Korea’s uranium-enrichment program?

Regrettably, the answer to this question is even more disconcerting than the disclosure itself. Intelligence amassed over the course of nearly two decades on North Korea’s uranium-enrichment program has been an inconvenient truth for most U.S. officials involved in North Korea policy through consecutive U.S. political administrations — but nowhere was this delusion in more abundance than in the latter years of the George W. Bush administration, in which I served as the director for counterproliferation strategy, covering North Korea’s nuclear program on the National Security Council staff in 2006 and 2007.

I really don't understand how the State Department--regardless who the Secretary is--work. It seems they like to do tit-for-tat strategy without doing the tit.

Like the Treasury Department officials who are continually “surprised” when the economy doesn’t act like they want it to.

People are covering their tails on this one--because they know what may be about at stake, a heavy, hefty price which was not necessary.

I hold Clinton, Carter, "W" BUSH, etc, and OBAMA of course, the whole damned idiotic rotten lot of them, accountable for this travesty and danger.

Follow FreeRepublic in the October 2006 to January 2009 period and you will know how many Korean Peninsula experts here were just absolutely LIVID with the "W" Administration, particularly with Condi Rice and Chris Hill, but of course the President signed off on everything, and how we are about to be served a huge Korean Peninsula crap sandwich.

Sorry if the remaining Bushbots on FR are uncomfortable with this reality, but it is the honest truth, and the writer above intimates what is deniable. It was bipartisan. One big screw up.

If I were in Tokyo, my tail would be in a knot.

Check this out. DPRK vs USA/ROK dynamic at work as we speak, in the Yellow Sea, and NLL area, a virtual POWDERKEG (because the Kim Regime was kept in place by Clinton, Bush and now Obama):

The Obama administration is calling for Diplomacy.

We know how that works out when the Democrats are handling the 'negotiations'.
