Here's an absolutely wild story out of the state of Alabama. In 1997, a headless body was discovered in the woods of Marshall County, Alabama along the Little Cotaco Creek near Union Springs. The headless man appeared to have been decapitated with a saw, as well as having his hands and feet removed as well, making him impossible to identify at the time. In addition, the man's heart and spleen were also removed with "surgical precision" according to authorities. But now, 26 years later, the man has been identified as Jefferey Douglas Kimzy of Santa Barbara, California. Now the question...

Headless Bodies Hold Secrets to Pacific Migration Heather Whipps Special to LiveScience LiveScience.com Thu Mar 15, 10:15 AM ET Archaeologists working on the Pacific islands of Vanuatu have found the region's oldest cemetery, and it's filled with a slew of headless bodies. The peculiar 3,000-year-old skeletons belong to the Lapita people, the earliest known inhabitants of the Pacific Islands. Their DNA could shed light on how the many remote island specks surrounding Vanuatu were colonized, the researchers say. "Both Vanuatu and Western Polynesia were first settled by the Lapita culture but their populations are somewhat different genetically and this has...

The Government Communications Directorate's Media Relations office said in an English-language announcement that "official sources in the ministries of Defense, Interior and Health deny the news that some of mass media reported regarding finding 15 bodies beheaded in Latifiya." An official in the Media Relations...

From the beginning, planners of the 400th anniversary of the Jamestown settlement wanted the participation of Virginia's eight Native American tribes. But things were shaky from the start -- the committee asked tribal leaders to join in preparations for the Jamestown 2007 "celebration." After the chiefs pointed out that Native Americans have no reason to celebrate the founding of the first permanent English settlement on their ancestral land, the year-long series of events was swiftly renamed a "commemoration." Now, the degree of tribal participation is again in question over an issue that the planners says they can do little about...

The tails from a pair of comets survived a close encounter with the Sun, even after the Sun's intense heat and radiation vaporized their heads (nuclei and coma), an extremely rare event photographed by the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) spacecraft.
