Genesis 14:21 The king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the people and keep the goods for yourself.” Just as the price of gas is reaching levels Americans can both go to the grocery store and fill their cars in the same week, our Glorious Premier Obozo decides to close the remainder of the ANWAR desert to oil exploration. This oil reserve holds more than thirty years of energy for America and would further stabilize the price of gas, but Marxists like him hate cheap oil so he is closing this production by edict. Alaskans want to develop and...

For several decades, conservatives have lamented the growth of the administrative state, aka the fourth branch of government. Created by congress, directed by the president, and armed with semi-despotic powers, these administrative agencies, by the number of regulations they issue, are the real lawmakers in the once American republic. On paper, the fourth branch is accountable to the reps of the people, the House and Senate of the United States. Liberals love them, for while these agencies are subject to congressional oversight, they are for practical purposes, extensions of the will of the president and are unaccountable to congress. Consider...

It seems America has a steely determination to kill herself. Let's look at the events of the last few days, since January 12, 2014. Nancy Pelosi named a Muslim Congressman to the very important House Intelligence Committee, which will afford him access to some of the most secretive information on America's war on terror. Rep. André Carson of Indiana has been linked to the Muslim Brotherhood through the Muslim American Society / Islamic Circle of North America (MAS/ICNA) groups, and in May of 2012, asserted that American schools should be modeled after madrassas, which are Islamic teaching schools. The President...

It seems all the conservative commentators cannot understand why the Onazi regime continues to make a pretzel appear straight with their explanation of the Islamic barbarians in Paris. They cling to their Koran and thuggish tactics like a terrorist holding an infidel’s head while reporters try to explain the unexplainable. The smoke has cleared, and John Boehner, the neo-progressive Obama-enabler, has retained his House Speaker position. Despite a clear and unequivocal message sent by many millions of Americans and conservatives, the dissenters in the House who would have removed Boehner numbered only twenty-five -- twenty-five men and women of conviction, out of two-hundred thirty-six. That is a mere 10.5% of the total Republicans seated in 2015. The reseating of Boehner, who I now call the Crying Cheeto (due to his weepiness and odd orange skin color), guarantees an agenda of appeasement of Democrats, a failure to rein in an out-of-control...

I think the vote for speaker demonstrates a clear need for having a well thought out process for choosing who is the leader concerning the house and senate and also a process that will remove the obvious blackmailing using campaign funds and committee assignments and committee chairmanships. Right now it is damned shame that is is ran almost like a Mafia family selecting it's leadership or union Boss "Card Check" election. Today’s reelection of John Boehner proves there is but one party, the Uniparty. Political parties represent the common interests of their members, and to this end the two wings of the Uniparty have far more in common than differences. Their rhetoric often contrasts, but their mutual interests are on display. Witness the fifth year of Obamacare, out of control spending, executive and judicial tyranny. Both wings despise the Tea Party more than each other. The framers’ constitution wisely divided power and provided checks that reached across the branches. Congress can deny appropriations, congress can override presidential vetoes, the senate can...

John Boehner epitomizes all that is wrong with the Republican Establishment. Boehner has thwarted every plan to overturn or ameliorate the most heinous aspects of Obama's neo-tyrannical rule. These days, I like to call Boehner Crying Cheeto. That is because he is an odd orange- or yellow-color, and cries at the drop of a hat. Boehner started, seemingly, on the right track. He was helpful in engineering the Contract with America in 1994, which helped propel Newt Gingrich to the position of the Chairman of the House. He quickly turned, however, and was involved in an unsuccessful attempt to unseat...

To quote from the Declaration of Independence anymore at FreeRepublic is to be regarded as something of a dullard. The timeless maxims of our revolution no longer seem to ring true, for if they did, there would be far more discussion at this forum on how to implement these truths in a nation that has largely forgotten them. As we lurch from one election cycle to another, and speculate two years out whether the GOP presidential nominee will be a conservative or rino, it is worthwhile to step back from politics for a moment, and consider government. The only ethical response to betrayal by one's own leader is to find a new leader. There have been famous betrayals, but for America one stands out. Benedict Arnold was a general in the American Revolution. Thousands of officers and enlisted followed him, obeyed him, attended to his every word. That was prior to September 21, 1780 and his plot with the British to turn over the critically strategic ground of West Point to the British in exchange for money and position. After his betrayal of his country, it would have been a strange thing indeed to have found his...

During much of American history, the President informed Congress of the State of the Union in writing. The Constitution does not mandate that the President give a State of the Union Address to a joint session of Congress. Even under a normal president, the SOTU is a spectacle that elevates the President above Congress and the Supreme Court, which should not be done. They seem to think after America has two years of capitalistic oppression they will gladly turn their lives back over to their Marxist overlords, good luck with that plan as...
  • Article V Now

With sixty-six of ninety-nine state houses in GOP hands, the prospect for a successful state convention to propose amendments has never been, and likely never will be, better. After all the back and forth at FR, one aspect of Article V hasn't been discussed very much. Although major elements of the national, central government predictably thinks otherwise, the language of Article V doesn't require the states to make identical applications to Congress. There is nothing to remotely infer the states must make identical applications. From Federalist 85, just two thirds of them need to apply and Congress must call a...

In most parts of the earth there is neither light nor liberty; and even in the best parts of it they are but little encouraged, and coldly maintained; there being, in all places, many engaged, through interest, in a perpetual conspiracy against them. They are the two greatest civil blessings, inseparable in their interests, and the mutual support of each other; and whoever would destroy one of them, must destroy both. Hence it is, that we every where find tyranny and imposture, ignorance and slavery, joined together; and oppressors and deceivers mutually aiding and paying constant court to each other....

I thoroughly enjoyed Election Night 2014. It was the first time I have smiled, albeit wanly, in four long years. I savored every second of it. Watching Nunn and Carter fall in my home state of Georgia, was particularly delightful. I had bad feelings about both those races. I followed the entire night as the ratio of Perdue to Nunn voters -- hovering around 55% to 43% -- refused to budge, no matter how liberal the county that released its results. Then to watch the gratifying or surprising wins: Cotton beat Pryor in Arkansas despite Clinton's best efforts. This gives...
  • GOP dominates midterms, takes control of Senate

Republicans scored a stunning electoral rout in the midterm elections, taking control of the U.S. Senate after a bitter campaign in which anger at Washington gridlock was turned against a president who took office promising to transcend it. Full article here ===================================================== Tonight we saw nothing short of a historic outbreak of mass sanity across America. Sooooo, to gloat or not to gloat. That's the question tonight. I'm leaning heavily against any gloating. It's not an easy decision because the shellacking the Democrats took across the country tonight -- a magnificent display of Democrats' Electile Dysfunction -- presents such a...

Oliver Wendell Holmes famously said, “Ignorance of the law is no excuse.” But in 2007 the Florida Department of State reported it had received and processed 5,504 new laws. But in addition to laws there exists a multiplicity of departments that create rules having the force of law and that are enforceable by fines or imprisonment. There are, for example, regulations governing the size, quantity and type of fish you can catch. If you’re in possession of an undersized lobster you’re subject to a fine even if you bought it at the grocery store. If you’re a visitor and you’ve...

Whenever one looks at the demographics of the population of America, and how it is changing, it always looks very daunting for conservatives. I agree. But I'd like to suggest a strategic solution that is very viable. The Hispanic demographic is ripe for a conservative takeover. The Hispanic population is a largely-Christian and very religious demographic. They are hard-working, very family-oriented, and tend to be moral. There are, of course, exceptions that disprove this rule, but I am speaking of the big-picture Hispanic population. They tend to have fled from countries that embrace socialism and police-state tactics on the part...

IntroductionFederalism, or States’ Rights, has a long and honored history. To define terms, Federalism involves the assignment of powers between the entities that make up a federation and the federal authority created by those entities to act on behalf of that federation. In the United States Constitution, the people delegated certain enumerated powers to the federal government for the sake of operating a federated union. The 10th Amendment was put in place to insure that the federal government would never assume powers not delegated to it. It reads, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor...

The people sense that the federal Leviathan is so ponderous that it cannot cope with a potentially existential health threat. They commonly think that the problem is that the government is so big and multi-tentacled that it cannot communicate, it cannot coordinate, it cannot cope. They are right about the size being a problem but size is not the root problem, it is a symptom. The gross federal Leviathan on is a symptom of an ideology that is all wrong. So long as that ideology could be described as "liberalism" the miraculous tool powers of our free enterprise system and...

Exodus 15:26 He said, “If you listen carefully to the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you.” It seems that something as horrific as Ebola finally is showing the world how inefficient and corrupt Marxism is. You can call it communism, socialism or progressivism, they are all synonyms for Marxism and that is what the District of Corruption is and the...
