To answer your question: Because the war in Ukraine is a war being fought for our political class and their financial backers. They care about enrich themselves far more than they care about the peons they rule over.

Education tax dollars should go directly to parents and parents should choose how and where to educate their children. Let parents decide the level of security they want. The Federal government has no business in “Education”. Personally, the historic local school house is the best method of organizing districts. At the beginning of the 20th century, when all the one room schools were being shuttered in favor of consolidation, supporters of the local school house warned that consolidation would lead to trouble and it has.
Why?
