Todd Starnes' tenure at Fox News has come to an abrupt end. The network has quietly axed Starnes from its lineup, according to The Wrap, and has ceased production on his three-hour Fox News Radio show as well as his Fox Nation program, "Starnes Country." Fox News did not provide an explanation about the decision not to remove Starnes' contract. It's unclear when the decision was made, but Starnes retweeted a promotion that labeled him as a "Fox News radio host" just hours before the news broke.

Fox News had the top three highest rated cable news shows for 2019’s third quarter, while MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow had her worst quarter in years. Maddow’s numbers began to drop in late March following the release of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report and have not recovered since.

Fox News Channel has been the most-watched cable news network for a whopping 71 straight quarters after dominating MSNBC and CNN during the third quarter of 2019. Fox News averaged 2.4 million primetime viewers from 8-11 p.m. ET, while MSNBC averaged 1.5 million, and struggling CNN managed only a smidge over the one million mark.
