The first man in the world to receive a Covid-19 vaccination has died, aged 81. Bill Shakespeare was only the second person in the world to get the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine in December at University Hospital Coventry. Coventry councillor Jayne Innes said that Mr Shakespeare had died and said the “best tribute to Bill is to have the jab”. In a Facebook post, she added: “Bill will be remembered for many things, including a taste for mischief.” West Midlands Labour group said on Twitter: “Bill made global headlines as the first man to have Covid vaccine. “His decades of service to...

First Man has officially flopped, and not just here at home, but all over the world. After three full weeks in distribution, the critical darling will barely creep over $40 million domestic and, according to Deadline, has already fallen out of the top ten. As of Thursday, and after 20 full days in release, First Man had grossed only $39 million domestic. Outside North America, the story about Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon, is doing even worse, with just $37 million. With a $60 million production budget and somewhere between $30 and $50 million spent...

All that is certain in life is death, taxes, and leftist celebrities speaking crudely. The latest edition of The Hollywood Reporter has a cover story celebrating British actress Claire Foy, presently playing the wife of Neil Armstrong in the Moon-landing movie First Man. Reporter Anna Peele is walking about D.C. with Foy, who is easily angered by protests around the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Perhaps bystanders are blanking on Foy because they are distracted by the hashtagged signs held up by their fellow citizens ("Kava-NOPE") or the many 18-wheelers parked on the Mall and festooned with banners...

British actress Claire Foy shared her views about President Trump, calling him “the giant penis of America” in a new interview. “The Crown” actress opened up about politics in a profile with The Hollywood Reporter released Wednesday “All powerful! D.C. is where the giant penis of America lives... in more ways than one,” Foy told the outlet referring to Trump. The singer also revealed that she wanted to “violently hurt” an anti-#MeToo movement protester she encountered at an anti-Brett Kavanagh protest the weekend the judge was confirmed to the Supreme Court. The actress explained that the protester carried a sign...

So I took the family to see "First Man" today. The movie took a lot of heat from virtue-signaling types, but I suspected the criticisms were unfounded. I was nearly totally correct. Like, 98%. First of all, I'm not super well-read on the space program as compared to some uber-nerds who I'm sure populate this forum who could run rings around me in general knowledge regarding this era of our history. I have, however, been interested in the space program for a long time and even got to meet Alan Shepard at a book signing at the Space and Rocket...

Great movie, deeply patriotic. I don't get all the BS on the flag. it is all over the movie, and on the Moon. Multiple times goosebumps. The Saturn vehicle launch is worth the price of admission alone. Ryan G is awesome. The only false note is Claire foy's part as the wife. I wish she had been more supportive and less of a worrier. But, that aside, a must see Freeper Movie Great window into USA greatness when we have a clear objective.

Unless Saturday brings a course change, Universal's critically acclaimed astronaut drama First Man is headed for a muted domestic debut of $16.8 million after earning $5.9 million on Friday from 3,640 theaters. The hope is that the adult-skewing film will be buoyed by a long run throughout awards season. Conversely, Sony's Venom and A Star Is Born continue to rock the October box office in their sophomore outings with a projected weekend haul of $30 million-plus and $28 million-plus after grossing $9.8 million and $8.5 million on Friday, respectively. Reuniting Oscar-winning filmmaker Damien Chazelle with his La La Land star...

When American astronaut Neil Armstrong, a devout Christian, visited Israel after his trip to the moon, he was taken on a tour of the Old City of Jerusalem by Israeli archaeologist Meir Ben-Dov. When they got to the Hulda Gate, which is at the top of the stairs leading to the Temple Mount, Armstrong asked Ben-Dov whether Jesus had stepped anywhere around there. “I told him, ‘Look, Jesus was a Jew,'” recalled Ben-Dov. “These are the steps that lead to the Temple, so he must have walked here many times.” Armstrong then asked if these were the original steps, and...

When it comes to the American flag on the moon, Hollywood takes a knee. With its soon-to-be released film, First Man, it seems Universal Pictures doesn’t want the world to remember that it was Americans who first landed on the moon. On the contrary, Hollywood again reminds us why Trump was elected and why liberals should never be in any position of power. Remember such come this November. The absurdity of a film about the first manned mission to the moon—an exclusively American accomplishment—that doesn’t show the moment when Neil Armstrong planted the U.S. flag on the moon makes me...

Editor's Note: This column was co-written by Ann McElhinneySo where will you be on the evening of October 12th? Here are your cinematic choices, First Man or Gosnell: The Trial Of America's Biggest Serial Killer. Both open on the same day. We would like to propose you come to the Gosnell movie (and not just because we produced it). Both movies are based on true stories but only one has chosen to exclude details that donÂ’t fit the politics of the director and cast - who seemed to be embarrassed by American heroes and their achievements. First Man tells the...

Before I deliver a curveball to conservative America, some insulating opinions: The first steps of man on the moon in July 1969 deserve to be ranked among the greatest things our nation has ever done; it was emblematic of an American spirit that has been allowed to ebb; Hollywood has been a siphoning drain on that spirit, taking numerous opportunities to minimize American exceptionalism and mitigate our greatness against decades of narratives about our sins; And, there is a globalist fetish active today that regards the United States as merely the member on the United Nations roster between the U.K....

When news broke that the upcoming Hollywood film about the moon landing leaves out the planting of an American flag in lunar soil (though it apparently shows the flag later), both sides of the ideological aisle instantly weighed in, each with compelling arguments. The film in question has only been seen by a select few, meaning the truth won’t be clear until its Oct. 12 release. That didn’t stop Social Media Nation. (Does it ever?) The problem began when Ryan Gosling, who stars as Neil Armstrong in director Damien Chazelle’s film, shared why we don’t see the astronaut planting an...

Buzz Aldrin appeared to criticize Neil Armstrong biopic First Man for leaving out the planting of the American flag on the Moon. The 88-year-old, who was the second man to set foot on the Moon, on Sunday tweeted a picture of the flag planted after their landing in 1969. He captioned the photo: 'Proud to be an American.' Aldrin also re-tweeted a photo of him saluting next to the same picture. It is an apparent dig at Oscar-winning director Damian Chazelle's decision not to include the planting of the flag on the Moon at the end of his critically acclaimed...

It a complete disgrace that an American movie refuses to recognize such an American triumph, but, instead, has sacrificed it on the altar of political correctness and globalism On October 12, a new movie, First Man, will debut in theaters across the United States. Already it is highly anticipated, and some critics believe it will be a contender for a variety of Oscar nominations. It received very positive reviews from attendees at the Venice Film Festival. Unfortunately, the much-ballyhooed movie is not historically accurate.

A survivor of the Feb. 14 school shooting in Parkland, Florida, ripped Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) on Saturday after he complained about an upcoming Neil Armstrong biopic for failing to include the astronaut planting an American flag on the moon. Sarah Chadwick, a student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, tweeted at the senator in response to his comment slamming the film’s omission as “total lunacy.” “Where was this energy from you when 17 people [were] killed at my school?” she tweeted, alongside the senator's comment. The tweet quickly went viral, garnering more than 3,500 retweets and 19,000 “likes” in...

Perhaps the strangest thing in modern discourse is that anytime something bad in our country's history is mentioned, the left paints it as uniquely American. Yet, anytime there is a remarkable and heroic event, the left ascertains it was an achievement accomplished by all of humanity. This was evidenced yet again by Hollywood’s portrayal of Neil Armstrong landing on the moon in 1969 as a "human achievement" and deciding to omit the iconic scene of Neil Armstrong planting the American flag in outer space in an upcoming movie, First Man. As Cortney covered yesterday Ryan Gosling, the Canadian actor...

...just more of the same anti-American crap.... The late Neil Armstrong’s 1969 trip to the moon may have been “one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind,” but it was also a massive achievement for the United States. One of Armstrong’s first orders of business was to proudly plant the American flag, after all. But Ryan Gosling, the Canadian actor who plays Armstrong in “First Man,” Hollywood’s rendition of the moon landing, told the Telegraph the magic moment was intentionally omitted from the big screen because Armstrong’s achievement “transcended countries and borders.” ...More at link:
