The new rebel leader in east Ukraine's Donetsk region has said his forces include 1,200 fighters who underwent military training in Russia. Addressing a meeting, Alexander Zakharchenko said the fighters had trained "four months on the territory of the Russian Federation". The rebels, he said, had reserves of 150 combat vehicles, including tanks. An earlier mistranslation of his words suggested Mr Zakharchenko had said the vehicles were on their way from Russia. Russia has denied claims by Ukraine and Western reporters that military aid to the rebels has been crossing the border.[] Mr Zakharchenko, who became the prime minister of...

If Russia and Ukraine slide into outright war, the United States and allies will face tough choices on how to support a friendly state they have no intention of making a full NATO member. If Moscow ever took any such action against a NATO member, that would inevitably trigger the alliance's Chapter 5 mutual defense clause, essentially committing it to war. Ukraine, however, is not a member and Western officials say is unlikely to become one any time soon.

The Westboro Baptist Church have announced their plans to picket the funeral of Robin Williams. In their seemingly endless quest to become the most despised group in the world, the controversial anti-gay church, whose messages of hate include holding their famous ‘God hates fags’ signs, have denounced the late actor as a ‘fag pimp’ because he played a gay character in the cult film the Birdcage and a cross dresser in the family film Mrs Doubtfire. @Rob1nWilliams @RobbyWilliams_ @RobinWilliamsTw @RWFansite Westboro Baptist Church to protest #RobinWilliams funeral: http://t.co/hsGrcp8Ro6— Westboro Baptist (@WBCSays) August 12, 2014 The church, whose founder Fred Phelps died in...

Through his State Department ventriloquist dummy, Barack Obama is denying that there is any truth to a Wall Street Journal article that Obama put a halt to ammunition shipments to Israel. The problem for Obama is that his credibility has long been shot so nothing he or any of his underlings asserts can be believed. At some point, credibility matters and the lack of it can reach a point so low that the default position of those you’re trying to convince is justifiably that you’re lying.Advantage, Netanyahu. White House and State Department officials who were leading U.S. efforts to rein in...

“My neighbour in Erbil has a two-year-old daughter. They said, ‘Give her to us. We will raise her.’ My neighbour cried and pleaded for half an hour. Then they forced the baby’s father to kiss their shoes, to humiliate him.” Stories of gang-rape by jihadists, a practice known as “jihad al-nikah” or “sexual jihad,” abound. It was allegedly “legitimated” by a religious leader in Tunisia to help the Islamic State recruit young men. Sunni girls in Mosul have reportedly died by suicide rather than accept multiple forced “marriages”. Kidnapped and raped Members of the Yazidi community who met French foreign...

Mukhlis Barzaq, head of the research unit of the Association of Palestinian Islamic Scholars Abroad was interviewed recently on a Turkish TV channel. Barzaq claimed the Jews own the largest media outlets in the U.S., infiltrate election campaigns and practiced extortion, using sex and money to gain political and economic control and to destroy the moral values of nation of the country. While the mainstream media has given some coverage to the growing anti-Semitism in Europe, they have largely ignored the widespread hatred in the Muslim world. Unlike the hatred in Europe, the authorities, even in so-called moderate countries...

With more than two years remaining until the 2016 presidential election, likely Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton is faring worse than ever in potential matchups against Republican hopefuls. While the GOP has a number of possible candidates vying for attention, many consider it a foregone conclusion that Clinton will be the frontrunner among Democrats. In previous polls, she has enjoyed a healthy lead over any challenger from the other side of the aisle. According to CBS, however, those leads are quickly evaporating. Since February, for example, Clinton’s lead over New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie in a head-to-head matchup has plummeted from...

FedEx Corp faces a new charge of conspiring to launder money in a U.S. criminal case over the company's drug deliveries for rogue online pharmacies despite warnings from law enforcement. The latest indictment, filed in court on Friday, said FedEx accepted payment from several pharmacies when it knew the revenue was the product of invalid prescriptions. If convicted, FedEx could face fines of up to roughly $1.6 billion.

The president had an action packed day on Friday as a surveillance video was released that changes the Ferguson narrative dramatically, Ukrainian artillery destroyed part of a convoy of Russian military vehicles, Governor Rick Perry sent 1000 State and National Guard troops to the Texas Southern border, and security officials, lawmakers and analysts raised the alarm about ISIS posing a direct threat to the West which they say must be confronted directly. Some in the conservative blogosphere snarked that Obama was taking "a break from golfing to go bike riding instead." But that is unfair to the president. He found time...

SADDLE BROOK, NJ –Robert Lintner, 65, did not have a good day. It all began when his wife stabbed him in the neck during an argument in the morning. Things took a turn for the worse when police, summoned to Mr. Litner’s home, discovered the man’s firearm and ammunition collection. Mr. Litner owned almost 200 guns in five vaults, had tens of thousands of rounds of ammunition in the home, and around 300 pounds of black powder. Because he did not consent to the search, cops used a jaws-of-life from the local fire department to open the safes, which are...

A stunning change happened overnight in Ferguson, Missouri after the government took a different approach to people’s civil liberties in the area. Gone were the SWAT trucks and snipers. Gone were the riot shields and militaristic outfits. Gone was the hostility. And guess what? Gone was the violence. Yesterday the Missouri Highway Patrol was given responsibility over the area. Patrol Capt. Ronald S. Johnson, who is a Ferguson native, marched in front of the crowd and set clear priorities for the marchers which respected their civil liberties. Governor Jay Nixon had vowed to take a different approach to the event,...

In March, the Senate filibustered Obama’s pick to be the nation’s top civil rights lawyer because of election-year politics — and what’s happening in Missouri is unlikely to change that. The Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, which has been tasked by Attorney General Eric Holder to help lead an investigation into the shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, has been without a confirmed leader since July 2013. And because of Congressional gridlock and election-year politics, it’s likely that the civil rights department will not get a confirmed assistant attorney general any time soon.

With the ISIS in Iraq having access to old stockpiles of Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction, some websites are now claiming former President George W. Bush has been “exonerated.” Some even go so far as to raise the fear of ISIS in America launching a terrorist attack. But are there actual limits to the Iraq WMD stockpiles the ISIS fighters have managed to recover? SNIP For example, this is what a website called Political Ears published the other day: “President Obama is currently meeting privately with his cabinet to discuss the news from Iraq that ISIS has discovered scores...

Full Title - "The Ferguson, Missouri Story: Drive-By Politicians, Drive-By Agitators and Drive-By Media Attempting to Cash in on Narratives" RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, have I told you that there is no news in the news? And how many times have I told you that what you see on the TV news you should always be suspicious of? You should always suspect that there's something else. You should always suspect that it may be entirely wrong. You should always suspect, with major network news, that there is a political agenda attached to everything they do. I use the term here...

House Republicans on Friday accused a top Obama administration health official of telling staff to delete an email related to the healthcare law’s rollout last fall. In a letter to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Administrator Marilyn Tavenner, the Republicans point to an Oct. 5 email from Tavenner to staff about how to handle calls from people applying for ObamaCare. In the first line of the email, Tavenner writes “please delete this email but see if we can work on call script.” Republicans in their letter ask why Tavenner wanted the email deleted, and whether she has asked for other...
