In a sense, these revolving-door apparatchiks and incestuous couples are bullies, who use their megaphones to disparage others who are supposedly blinkered and ignorant to the point of not believing that a videomaker caused the attacks in Libya, not trusting the Iranians, being skeptical about the theory of sanctuary cities, missing the genius of the European Union, not seeing the brilliant logic in allowing in 12 million immigrants from southern Mexico and Central America under unlawful auspices, panicking about $20 trillion in debt, and incapable of appreciating the wonders of outsourcing. In matters of deception, ostentatious vulgarity never proves as...

Over the past several years, the term "the Establishment" has been frequently used. The Republican Establishment, the Democrat Establishment, etc. The "Establishment" is nothing more than the ruling oligarchy, "the few" who have consolidated power within themselves and pass it around amongst themselves (witness the Bushes, the Clintons, the Romneys, the Cuomos, the Kennedys, etc.). And witness the means that congressional leaders select and elect only their own types for power (the NRSC, NRCC, DNSC, DNCC and the oligarchs that fund them). There is nothing new in this. In fact, it is quite common in world history. And there is...

The Mainstream Media and spineless Republican critics were out in force earlier this week bemoaning Donald Trump’s lack of a political fundraising operation. Team Trump shrugged off the criticism and then proceeded to initiate a fundraising effort that saw a groundswell of support from backers both great and small who quickly amassed a remarkable $11 million dollars into the coffers of Team Trump and the RNC. Much to the chagrin of the Clinton Machine and Trump’s critics, it doesn’t appear the New York billionaire will have any trouble raising campaign cash. The astonishing 48-hour $11 million mark was reported on...

"Pocahantas." For a long time I've been busting on Marco Rubio people, and the class -- Upper Middle Class College-Educated -- so enthused about him.* I've said this before, but this class, in particular, is extremely bully-able. Their class itself is is the product of liberal social cues and mores. College being one of the main prerequisites of class entry (other prerequisites: That your parents are also college-educated), this class is particularly sensitive to threats to their social status by liberals.** Any class whose credentials are monitored by a progressive/archliberal dominant cadre is going to be easily whipsawed into conformity...

You would think that after the complete repudiation of the mainstream GOP establishment by its own voters that it might do some soul-searching. You would think that it might ask itself what it did wrong to facilitate the rise of Donald Trump. And you might also believe in unicorns. No, instead of learning the lessons from 2016 that might help it avoid pain in the future, the establishment has chosen to learn different lessons, lessons that – shockingly – reinforce the same pre-existing notions that got us into this mess in the first place. Who in the Republican establishment has...

Boehner's scenario: Clinton may drop out, clear way for Biden The Daily Briefing By John T. Bennett CQ-Roll Call • Sunday May 15, 2016 8:53 PM Vice President Joe Biden and former House Speaker John Boehner share a moment as they take the stage for the University of Notre Dame commencement ceremony. Both were on hand Sunday to receive the Laetare Medal. Out with Hillary Clinton. In with Vice President Joe Biden. At least that’s what former House Speaker John A. Boehner thinks could happen should federal prosecutors opt to slap criminal charges on the former secretary of state over...

A band of exasperated Republicans — including 2012 presidential nominee Mitt Romney, a handful of veteran consultants and members of the conservative intelligentsia — is actively plotting to draft an independent presidential candidate who could keep Donald Trump from the White House. Those involved concede that an independent campaign at this late stage is probably futile, and they think they have only a couple of weeks to launch a credible bid. But these Republicans — including commentators William Kristol and Erick Erickson and strategists Mike Murphy, Stuart Stevens and Rick Wilson — are so repulsed by the prospect of Trump...

In 2012, after Mitt Romney lost the presidential election, Bill Whittle delivered an address on Republican principles. The Timid Republican Party has substantially ignored those principles and is not guided by them. Party candidates nevertheless continue to mouth them at election time. Perhaps they understand what the voters want and recite their fealty to get their votes. Once safely in office, they revert to ignoring those same principles.During the current Republican nomination process, the Establishment has chastised Donald Trump for not being a "real" Republican and not adhering to Republican principles -- the principles which they themselves ignore, by which he...

"Fox News can’t say they were not warned this would be an outcome of their insufferable decision to continue promoting a media narrative in opposition to Donald Trump. The same thing happened to Macys Department Store after they dropped Trump."

"Data compiled since the New York GOP primary shows that billionaire Donald Trump’s popular vote total in 2016 in states that have voted so far significantly exceeds the vote totals that Mitt Romney, the 2012 nominee, had in those states in total."

Ask a hundred U.S. citizens what the country needs more than anything and you’re likely to get a hundred answers. An end to poverty, an end to racism, an end to terrorism, free college, an end to liberals, an end to conservatives, an end to climate change, a balanced budget, and on and on. Most responses would be likely be well-meaning, pie-in-the-sky fantasies with little forethought as nearly all of us are inclined to do now and again. Including me. I know it’s hard to believe that the Artful Dilettante himself engages in such flights of fancy, with outcomes devoid...

Well, for one thing, it would be counterproductive. With three, four or five candidates drawing delegates, it simply prevents anyone from getting to 1237 and ensures that the GOPe gets to install one of their own establishment guys at the convention. The malleable "rules" are designed to to preserve, protect and defend the establishment ruling class. Nothing more. Cruz knows this. He has betrayed the grassroots.

Only Donald Trump could cause two words, bombastic and outrageous(ness), to become the go to words in the 2016 presidential race. Only Trump could enable these words to become overnight rock stars in daily American political commentary.

Ted Cruz has made few friends among Republicans in Washington during his nearly four years in the Senate, but his message to GOP elite as he looks to build support to the party’s presidential nominee is that he would bring more Republicans along with him. In a private meeting with members of the Republican National Committee, the Cruz campaign’s high command, including campaign manager Jeff Roe, strategist David Polyansky, and delegate-hunters Ken Cuccinelli and Saul Anuzis, made the case for Cruz as the party’s stronger choice for the general election and argued he’d help down-ballot GOP races. Mathematically eliminated from...

I attended the GA 5th District Convention. About 50 people, the largest attendance they have ever had. As they have done in past presidential years, a nominating committee had prepared a slate of 3 delegates and 3 alternates. At least 4 others had emailed me that they also were running. The chair, parliamentarian, secretary and credentials chair on the platform were all on the slate As with 2012, the slate was rejected as a slate. There were nominations from the floor going head-to-head a slated individual vs those not slated. The chair and parliamentarian declared that it would require a...

Several top Republicans are planning to skip the party's national convention in July in fear a chaotic convention will damage the party, according to a CNN report. Apparently many House and Senate Republicans think it smarter to spend time with voters in their home-states than to be associated with the drama of the presidential nomination. An anonymous top GOP party leader even told CNN that he and others have advised rank-and-file members to avoid the convention and instead hold events in their home districts during that time.

The United States in 2016 has a myriad of enemies: ISIS, the Taliban, Iran, North Korea, Russia and China. While these countries, terrorist groups and paramilitary forces pose varied threats to the nation, there is an enemy which is much more insidious and which is destroying America every day. It is an enemy within, supported by foreign entities that benefit from our demise. It is the Establishment. It is the single greatest threat to the life, liberty and happiness of the American people since the British Empire in 1776. The Establishment in 2016 has many of the vile traits of...

What's Paul Ryan up to? It’s a question many political insiders are asking amid a concerted public relations push by the new Speaker that has the markings of an unofficial presidential campaign. Against a backdrop of American flags, Ryan (R-Wis.) delivered a high-profile speech last month about the need for party unity that was interpreted as a head-on attack on GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump. He followed up with a video that some, including the Drudge Report, viewed as a campaign ad. Ryan’s office pushed back quickly on that suggestion, but Drudge is far from alone in wondering if Ryan...
