Fewer people are watching the NFL on TV, and no one really knows why. The NFL Players Association admits that the trend is an obvious concern. The league has kept quiet, likely fearful that talking about the situation would lend credence to the dynamic, possibly causing other fans who are still watching the games to say, “Maybe I should stop, too.” The decline has become a mystery, for the media and surely for the NFL.

Republican nominee Donald Trump's remarks on women haven't gone unnoticed by Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly, who had a fiery exchange with Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway over her dismissing accusations of misogyny made against her candidate. During an interview on "The Kelly File" Wednesday night, Conway complained the Democratic challenger Hillary Clinton focused too much on Trump's history with women. Conway said Trump's opinion was that "it's not nice that you're running hundreds of millions of dollars in negative ads against me, and he has a point."

In my neck of the woods Hillary is running an ad that starts with an audio of Trump saying something about a woman's figure (maybe from a beauty pageant, who knows?). The ad then asks, is the role model you want for your daughters? The ad ends with pictures of little girls looking sad. Trump needs to counter this. Let soccer moms hear that audio of Hillary laughing as she talks about how she successfully defended a child rapist. Get it on TV. Get it on Facebook.

Public interest law Professor John Banzhaf of the George Washington University Law School talked about the states’ losing battle against federalized elections on Wednesday’s Breitbart News Daily with SiriusXM host Alex Marlow. “Basically, today, the elections are all run by state and local officials,” Professor Banzhaf explained, adding: But the problem is that, more and more, we’re convinced there is a very real threat that the elections may be hacked. That could be by a foreign power. Actually, that’s rather easy to do, so it could be by a bunch of high school kids here or anywhere in the world.

In 2012, President Obama won re-election by almost 5 million votes, but about 47 million eligible white voters without a college degree — including 24 million men — didn’t bother to vote. In 2016, these nonvoters are part of the demographic that is most strongly in favor of Donald Trump. If Trump rouses even a fraction of these notoriously disaffected Americans — like this grease-smudged, 61-year-old first-time voter in western Pennsylvania — he could surge to victory. There’s just one catch: If we’re on the cusp of a blue-collar Great Awakening, it’s not yet showing up in the registration data....

...At 16 years old, Betts plead guilty to six felony charges after he carjacked a man while holding him at gunpoint, and served over eight years in prison. Betts said, “It is easy to talk about innocence, it’s not easy to talk about guilt.” He said he wants to be an example for other ex-convicts who want to make a life for themselves. Since his release, Betts has received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, a master of fine arts from Warren Wilson College and a law degree from Yale Law School. ...His memoir is titled “A Question...

-- Operatives in Brooklyn had been working with Machado since the summer. They had a video featuring her story ready to go. Cosmopolitan had a photo spread of her draped in an American flag – to go with a profile – in the can. Machado had also conducted an interview with The Guardian that was “apparently embargoed for post-debate release,” according to Vox. And the Clinton super PAC Priorities USA turned a digital ad to highlight the insults by early afternoon. The Clinton press shop then set up a conference call for Machado to respond to what Trump said on...

Saudi Arabia could reduce valuable security and intelligence cooperation with longstanding ally Washington after a Congressional “stab in the back” allowing 9/11 victims to sue the kingdom, experts warn. Cutting such cooperation is among the options available to Riyadh after Congress voted overwhelmingly on Wednesday to override President Barack Obama’s veto of the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA). “I’m afraid that this bill will have dire strategic implications” for the United States, Salman al-Ansari, the president of the Saudi American Public Relation Affairs Committee (SAPRAC), told AFP.

Donald Trump scored a gentleman's "C" in his first debate with Hillary Clinton. She was programmed, like one of those androids from the film "Westworld," spewing out well-rehearsed sound bites, smiling (sometimes condescendingly), and even tossing in a few wiggles. It was all designed to make her look warm and wonderful. As the saying goes, if you can fake sincerity, you can fake anything. Trump did best when he didn't focus on himself and this is the pattern he should follow in the next two debates. As a seasoned debater, who has taken on professors and liberal thinkers on campuses...

Monday night's debate moderator, NBC's Lester Holt, asked Donald Trump why he "perpetuated a false claim that the nation's first black president was not a natural-born citizen." Hillary Clinton added that Trump "has a long record of engaging in racist behavior, and the birther lie was a very hurtful one." Trump defended himself by saying: "Sidney Blumenthal works for the campaign and (is a) close -- very close -- friend of Sec. Clinton. And her campaign manager, Patti Doyle ... during ... her campaign against President Obama, fought very hard. ... And if you look at CNN this past week,...

AND NOW... amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke... it is time for... that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-The-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and he’s not retiring until every American agrees with him — do NOT doubt him — with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (that’s Rush, for those in Rio...

.... A lot of Trump critics have argued that he’s afraid that his tax returns will show he’s not a billionaire. Highly doubtful. First, Trump’s income will not directly correlate with the value of his assets, the debt on them or his stake in each. Second, FORBES has been scouring Trump’s fortune for 34 years. Sometimes he’s up, sometimes he down–and for much of the 1990s he was out of the three-comma club. FORBES’ new investigation into Trump’s wealth pegs his fortune at $3.7 billion, down $800 million from a year ago. A softening of New York City’s real estate...

Voters in five battleground states declared Hillary Clinton the winner of this week’s debate against Donald Trump, boosting her fortunes in those key races, a new poll showed Thursday. A majority of voters in Colorado, Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia all told Public Policy Polling that Clinton got the better of Trump in their first showdown. The Public Policy poll was taken Tuesday and Wednesday, giving voters at least one night to digest Monday’s slugfest at Hofstra University. Clinton’s debate also helped her bounce to leads in all five states, according to the poll. In four-way races that include...

Democrats have placed their focus on bringing in top surrogates to Pennsylvania's colleges and black neighborhoods in an effort to motivate these key demographics to show up to vote for Hillary Clinton in the same numbers they supported Barack Obama. "Clinton so far has shown she is lagging in inspiring these voters – that is why you see (first lady) Michelle Obama at two universities in Pennsylvania Wednesday, Hillary herself in a black neighborhood and with plenty of plans for both [President Barack] Obama and Bill Clinton to do the same thing," said Terry Madonna, political science professor at Franklin...
