Conservatism: The White House sicced its meanest attack dogs, Media Matters and MSNBC, on Rush Limbaugh. But they couldn't knock him off the air. Their advertising boycott has failed. Even the Washington Post admits the conservative talk-show giant has survived a monthlong crusade to cow sponsors and stations into dropping Limbaugh over intemperate remarks he made about a coed fan of ObamaCare. "Stations are standing by him," the Post reported, and "advertisers are trickling back to his program." Turns out the ad losses were far fewer than liberal Media Matters claimed in a running tally on its website. In fact,...

Exhibit A on why liberals seldom go into police work -- Ed Schultz's chat with a like-minded caller to his radio show yesterday about the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin. To the caller, it was "cut and dry" that Zimmerman murdered Martin during their confrontation in Sanford, Fla., last month. (audio) CALLER: Hey, what is it about the right that just can't be wrong about something? This whole Trayvon Martin deal is just driving me nuts. It's cut and dry. The guy brought a gun to the fight. The kid was just walking home. You know, a scuffle ensues because...

U.S. labor unions paid MSNBC “Ed Show” host Ed Schultz roughly $200,000 in 2011, and roughly $337,000 over the last seven years, according to Department of Labor documents. Newsbusters first reported that the liberal TV talker received $190,000 from the Communications Workers of America for “representational activities” in 2011. CWA president Larry Cohen is a regular guest on Schultz’s radio program. The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers also paid Schultz $9,900 last year. In 2010 his union salaries totaled a comparatively small $37,350. The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME); the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW);...

In fiscal 2011, Schultz received $190,000 from the Communications Workers of America for what the U.S. Department of Labor categorized as "representational activities." For swag like that, you'd think Schultz could at least get it right about the CWA name. Instead, he invariably refers to it as the "Communication" Workers of America when its president, Larry Cohen, is a guest on Schultz's radio show, as Cohen often is. Schultz also received $9,900 in fiscal 2011 from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), putting his union haul for the year at almost $200,000. This represented a fivefold increase over the...

SCHULTZ: Joining me tonight is Sandra Fluke , the woman Congressman Darrell Issa rejected as a witness today. Ms. Fluke is a law student at Georgetown University . Great to have you with us tonight, Sandra . Now, I understand that you already planned your testimony. You were going to cite examples of people who could have benefited from President Obama ‘s mandate for birth control coverage. Share with us what you would have told that committee today. SANDRA FLUKE, GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY LAW STUDENT: That is what I was there to speak to the committee about. That's why I was...

What a shock -- labor unions paying one of their biggest cheerleaders in the media. Perhaps Ed Schultz could explain what he does for unions to warrant such largesse. I don't recall hearing anything along these lines on his radio program or MSNBC show. (graphic after page break) In fiscal 2011, Schultz received $190,000 from the Communications Workers of America for what the U.S. Department of Labor categorized as "representational activities." Whatever happened to the good old days, when the MSM glorified "speaking truth to power"? We all know the answer: that epoch ended on January 20, 2009. Nowadays, opposing power, particularly in the person of the president, far from being something to be praised, is downright illegitimate in some liberal media eyes. Take the latest "Lean Forward" promo by MSNBC, in which Ed Schultz actually claims that those "standing up to the president" are nothing but "bullies." View the video here.

Go ahead, call it shooting fish in a barrel. As soon as Ed Schultz mentioned at the top of his MSNBC show this evening that Alan Grayson would be a guest, you knew the former Dem congressman from Florida would say something outrageous. Sure enough, the guy who was roundly defeated last time around—but is giving it another go—delivered, claiming that Newt Gingrich is running "the most overtly racist campaign" since George Wallace. Grayson also managed to work in a reference to the Ten Commandment's prohibition of adultery. View the video here.

MSNBC host Ed Schultz used a dog as a prop during his regular "Psycho Talk" segment to hit Republicans for making cracks about President Obama shopping for his pet dog.

Sad to see Ed Schultz suffer such sudden memory loss on live national TV. On his MSNBC show this evening, discussing Herman Cain's handling of the various allegations against him, Schultz: found it odd that Cain's wife had come to his defense; said he'd never "seen anything like this in American politics;" and claimed that by criticizing his accusers, Cain had hit "a new low in American politics." Do any of the following sound an echo with Ed?: *Hillary going on 60 Minutes to stand by Bill as he lied through his teeth about Gennifer Flowers? *The Clinton campaign organizing...

Looks like GQ magazine and CNN's Anderson Cooper have gotten under Ed Schultz's skin. Then again, so many things do. The magazine last week ranked Schultz in a satirical listing of "The 25 Least Influential People Alive," a tally that also included President Obama. (audio clip after page break) Schultz complained about this right out of the gate on his radio show Monday, questioning whether Cooper had persuaded GQ to include him on the list and boasting that his ratings are better than Cooper's and those of Nancy Grace on HLN (audio) -- Here's the big social media news surrounding...

With penetrating political analysis like this, no wonder Ed Schultz has been named one of the world's least influential people . . . On his MSNBC show this evening, discussing the recall effort in Wisconsin, Schultz said that Republican Governor Scott Walker "sucks." View the video here.

President Barack Obama and MSNBC's Ed Schultz have been named to GQ magazine's annual list of "The 25 Least Influential People Alive." Although not available online yet, TVNewser published a preview Friday:

How vile is Mike Papantonio? For the second time in three days the trial lawyer-cum-radio host has actually made Ed Schultz look relatively reasonable. Interviewed by Schultz on his MSNBC show this evening, Papantonio claimed that the Koch brothers had "purchased" Herman Cain in order to be able to "kill more people" with their toxins. Q. Faced with President Obama's difficult re-election prospects, is there any depth to which the desperate liberal media won't sink? A. Apparently not. Take this evening's Ed Show. Schultz accused Rep. Paul Ryan of "inciting civil war" and suggested Republicans might "want violence to take place in our society." Not to be outdone, thankfully former Florida congressman Alan Grayson called Ryan and Republicans "the real killers," akin to O.J. Simpson. View the video here.

Ed Schultz, host of MSNBC's the Ed Show, believes that Republican presidential contender Herman Cain is pandering to "white Republicans out there who don't like black folks" and accused Sen. Jim Demint, R-S.C., of using racist langauge in his opposition to Obamacare. On his show last night, Schultz said that Demint, whom Cain has mentioned as a potential running mate, repeated an "old southern racist term when talking about defeating President Obama during the health care debate." Schultz's example? He quoted Demint saying that "If we are able to stop Obama on this [health care law], it will be his...

Serious question: if he ever had it, has Ed Schultz totally lost it? There's lots to be said about the Occupy Wall Street movement. But of all the cockamamie comments, of all the nutty non sequiturs, surely Ed Schultz's takes the crazy cake. On his MSNBC show tonight, Schultz claimed that what lies behind Republican criticism of Occupy is . . . racism. In a beyond-bizarre analogy, Schultz somehow said that there's "no difference" between GOP congressman Peter King's criticism of Occupy Wall Street and . . . Trent Lott's 2002 birthday-party praise for Strom Thurmond. W-h-a-a-a-t? View video here.

Earlier this week, I wrote about Sen. Marco Rubio’s major national speech at the Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, Calif., noting that the ideas he espoused are the very ideas that will serve as the foundation for any electoral success the GOP enjoys in 2012. Several readers tweeted at and e-mailed me to express their support for Rubio. “What’s not to like?†one asked. Townhall’s Erika Johnsen put it this way: “I can’t believe how much truth he delivers in speeches, teleprompter-free and even off the cuff.â€But to MSNBC’s Ed Schultz, Rubio’s common sense call for personal responsibility and...

“It’s just insane,” Fox News analyst and Daily Beast columnist Kirsten Powers tells a Fox audience after watching the clip of Ed Schultz accusing Rick Perry of being a racist for using the phrase “big black cloud,” by which Schultz claimed Perry meant Barack Obama. Schultz later apologized for the selective editing of the clip, but Powers isn’t satisfied with Schultz’ selective retreat that pointedly didn’t walk back the allegation of racism. Powers offers a dog-whistle argument right back at the MSNBC host, saying that Schultz’ assumption that “big black cloud” referred to Obama shows that it’s Schultz who’s the...
