Whatever happened to the good old days, when the MSM glorified "speaking truth to power"? We all know the answer: that epoch ended on January 20, 2009.
Nowadays, opposing power, particularly in the person of the president, far from being something to be praised, is downright illegitimate in some liberal media eyes. Take the latest "Lean Forward" promo by MSNBC, in which Ed Schultz actually claims that those "standing up to the president" are nothing but "bullies."

Why not? If we disagree with Obama we are ‘racist’.
But at least it's going to be amusing the next time we have a Republican president stitching together all these sounds bytes and making it sound like the kooks at MSNBC are the presidents strongest supporters. Then listening to them screech and howl and try and explain why the same statements don't apply to Republican presidents.

I love Newsbusters. That said, I feel sorry for you as a person who has to actually view this constant stream of liberal diarrhea. I sometimes wonder how you maintain your sanity. It never ceases to amaze me how societal entropy brought on by liberalism has reduced us to such a low level of self regard that people watch these low-brow cretins such as Shultz, Oprah, Matthews spew their socialist and communist dogma without ever considering the effect on themselves. How does a POS like Shultz get on TV? Amazing.

This reminds me of the school anti-”bullying” campaigns, which are directed toward dictating acceptance of “gays”.
In reality, “gays” and “human rightsers” are the bullies! So are feminazis and muslims! And so are the union thugs and goons, death-panelists, islamists, and banksters who have given us Barack Hussein Abdullah Muhammad obama, the very WORST President in American history!!!!

Most frequently, this goal is accomplished by labeling opponents with emotionally-freighted terminology (racist/sexist/bigot) that immediately serves to put its objects on the defensive while distracting from their own contrary arguments.
Republicans have only rarely figured out how to defeat such techniques, either because they allow themselves to be intimidated, or lack understanding of the principles they are supposed to defend, or simply lack principles.
