Schultz Guest Grayson: Gingrich Running Most 'Overtly Racist' Campaign Since George Wallace
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 01/25/2012 6:34:23 PM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

Go ahead, call it shooting fish in a barrel. As soon as Ed Schultz mentioned at the top of his MSNBC show this evening that Alan Grayson would be a guest, you knew the former Dem congressman from Florida would say something outrageous.

Sure enough, the guy who was roundly defeated last time around—but is giving it another go—delivered, claiming that Newt Gingrich is running "the most overtly racist campaign" since George Wallace. Grayson also managed to work in a reference to the Ten Commandment's prohibition of adultery.

Grayson also managed to work in a reference to the Ten Commandment's prohibition of adultery.

Did he mention that ten years ago with William the Impeached?

Alan Grayson, like Maureen Dowd, is an honorary member of the MBA (Mandatory Barf Alert) club. Seeing their name in a post makes a “BARF ALERT” redundant.

Thanks, Mike. I did think the inclusion of “Grayson” in the headline made a barf alert superfluous ;-)

Dick Morris blathered tonight about how Mitt will win Nevada because there’s lots of Mormons there and he’ll win Maine because it’s close to NH...

Genius.

How about the vile behavior of sodomy?

And how about vile racist Marxist ideology of zero?????

Part of Solzhenitsyn’s ‘78 Harvard Address that they must have missed:

“The mathematician Igor Shafarevich, a member of the Soviet Academy of Science, has written a brilliantly argued book entitled Socialism; this is a penetrating historical analysis demonstrating that socialism of any type and shade leads to a total destruction of the human spirit and to a leveling of mankind into death. “

Excellent question: I’ve wondered the same thing. His district is in the Orlando area, if I’m not mistaken. Pretty middle of the road territory. I have to assume that as a multi-millionaire he spent a lot and fooled voters in his first race. Once they figured out what a buffoon he is, they kicked him out, and I can’t believe he’ll win this time around.

Good post. I don’t think Gingrich gets all 155 Texas delegates, as Texas was changed to a proportional representation state. Not that we really wanted to.

Virginia is not only a disgrace, the big Republican dogs are still in office. McDonnell and Bolling should have already resigned and left ahead of the tar and feathers.

Their careers in politics are finished.

I dont think Grayson knows what overt means.

I was thinking that same thing. Grayson is proud that his white DemocRAT pals are racists covertly.

As a California boy, I wouldn’t have thought there was a Democrat out there stupider than Bill Press. Until I discovered Alan Grayson.

That racist Wallace was running as a populist Democrat in 1972 and he had the MOST popular votes of all the Democrat candidates before one of those crazed lone assassins dudes took him down. He had some great populist campaign lines. He ran against Washington and big government. He called Washington bureaucrats pointy head pseudo intellectuals. He said that taxpayers throw a tax dollar across the Potomac and federal government throws back a nickel to the state governments. Am I saying that Wallace could have beaten that Dweeb McGovern? We will never know will we.

But I do know that Wallace may have given Nixon a run for the money because Nixon supposedly won in 1968 because of his so-called southern strategy. Wallace had an answer to the southern strategy but he realistically could not have won any big electoral states.

My point is that Wallace was a southern Democrat with a populist message who was racist and the record to prove it.

Gingrich is being compared to Wallace not because Gingrich is a racist in any way shape or form, but because southern populist politicians who threaten the establishment and the status quo will always be painted with that tired old racist brush.
