Sam Whittet, 24, left Peter Roberts with a fractured skull and bleed on the brain after flying into an uncontrollable rage in December 2016A vicious thug who killed a Good Samaritan with a single punch in a booze-fuelled rage has been jailed for just two years and eight months. Sam Whittet, 24, went on a violent rampage at a working man’s club after an evening drinking on December 10, 2016. A court heard he flew into an “uncontrollable rage” during which he punched a 15-year-old boy who had his back turned to him in completely unprovoked attack. Whittet then became...

Shortly after midnight on New Year’s Eve, as America’s party city was celebrating the arrival of 2020, a desperate woman on a suburban Las Vegas street leapt out of the back door of a white Hyundai Sonata with a sunroof, and ran toward a front door, chased by the driver of the car. As she charged up the sidewalk, she must have known the chances of anyone being at home at this time, on this night, were vanishingly small. The woman must have felt utterly abandoned as she banged on that door, screaming for help, but no one came to...

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has revoked the charter of a fraternity after a party at its house Sept. 12 left several underage guests severely intoxicated and some with memory lapses they believed were caused by date rape drugs slipped into drinks. The university initially suspended the charter of Tau Kappa Epsilon during its investigation of the party. The fraternity may petition for reinstatement after two years; that would require approval of both the student association and the dean of students. The university launched an investigation after campus police took four incapacitated partygoers to a hospital emergency room. A university spokesman said...

Hollywood star Bill Murray has spoken out about the events that led to him leaving a blood sample at a Stockholm police station last month. While speaking to the press at the Venice Film Festival, Murray was asked by a Swedish journalist to explain just what he was doing driving around Stockholm city centre in a golf cart. "A friend of mine, Jesper Parnevik, invited me to play in a pro-am golf tournament in Stockholm. I was driven to a party celebrating the event in a golf cart," Murray said. "After the party, the people that drove in the golf...

Middle-class wine drinkers will be the focus of government plans to make drunkenness as socially unacceptable as smoking, The Times has learnt.---snip-- “We want to target older drinkers, those that are maybe drinking one or two bottles of wine at home each evening,” a Whitehall source said. “They do not realise the damage they are doing to their health and that they risk developing liver disease. We are not talking here about the traditional wino.”

"Naked and hungover in the US embassy bushes He won't be the first 18 year old Stockholmer to wake up wondering where he is after a night of hard partying. But he is the first - and probably the last - to discover that he has come round in the grounds of the American embassy. Naked and confused, the young man tried to hide himself in the embassy bushes on Sunday morning. But after a while he was caught and questioned by police. "He thought he was taking part in some sort of game and had been given the task...

I'm swedish too, but I swear I wouldn't behave like this at anyone's BBQ party - or elsewhere. The article: "Man arrested after barbecue rampage A cosy birthday barbecue in a small village in central Sweden turned into a nightmare on Saturday night when the group of friends had a visit from a neighbour - with an appetite for destruction, rather than grilled reindeer steaks. Inga-Mai Björkman, her partner, and his brother were having a relaxing BBQ dinner in their summer house near Mora when the guest from hell arrived.
