All 62 people aboard a passenger jet flying from Dubai to southern Russia were killed when their plane crashed on its second attempt to land at Rostov-on-Don airport this morning, Russian officials said.
Russia's emergencies ministry said the aircraft, a Boeing 737-800 operated by Dubai-based budget carrier Flydubai, crashed. Most of those aboard were Russian.
"The aircraft hit the ground and broke into pieces," the Investigative Committee of Russia said in a statement on its website. "According to preliminary data, there were 55 passengers aboard and seven crew members. They all died."
The plane's wing hit the ground on its second landing attempt and burst into flames, the Rostov region emergency ministry said in a statement.
The region's governor, Vasily Golubev, said bad weather - strong, gusting wind in the Rostov area - was the primary line of investigation for the crash, but Zhanna Terekohova, an adviser to the Russian transport minister, said pilot error could also be a factor.
The plane came down inside the airport's perimeter, about 250 metres (yards) short of the start of the runway.

Uh, yeah, I’d say that’d do it.
Steep approach angle. No flare. Ugly.
That was a “landing” attempt? I think it was more like a “crash” attempt, and they succeeded superbly.
Didn’t watch.
Prayers for the families of the deceased.
That doesn’t look like an attempted landing.
The abrupt pullup at the end of the plot was from a missed approach.
They were low on fuel.
The high angle of attack from the missed approach uncovered the fuel boost pumps within the fuel tanks, and the engines flamed out.
Possibly the nose fell because of a stall, or was pointed down in an effort to forego a stall and make the runway, and they impacted the runway nose down.
Landing attempt?
Are Russian pilots taught to land on their nose?
Chances are the pilots weren’t Russian. It’s a Dubai based carrier so it could employ almost any nationality you can think of. As usual, The Daily Telegraph in Britain has an article with a hundred times the detail than you’ll find in any of our rags. And while it doesn’t name the pilot and co-pilot yet it does say that besides the majority Russian passengers the nationalities of all aboard were “Ukrainian, Indian, Uzbek, Spanish, and Cypriot”. Also, weather conditions at the time were very bad and the cause may have been wind shear. The black box has been recovered.
two hours of circling
..........
haggling over transient fees at different airports.

the animals(passengers) are expendable
I know nothing of this subject. Having said that, I didn’t notice trees swaying wildly from wind, no driving rain, and it certainly looked like a fireball before it slammed into the ground.
Prayers for the victims and their families. If it was a deliberate act, I doubt the Russians would want to give them credit.
The Daily Mail has a good article with lots of info. States the pilots were very experienced and NOT Russian.
Looks like it fell out of the sky. I didn’t do a frame x frame, but it’s possible it was on fire before it hit.
The black and white security video only shows the plane coming down at a steep angle. It missed the landing attempt. The plane may have climbed steeply after the attempted landing, stalled and then crashed.
Here is a video from a few years ago of a 747 cargo plane crash. The plane took off, climbed steeply, stalled and crashed. Maybe similar to the recent crash of the Russian plane crash?

I’m with you. It had to be intentional. Who was flying the plane?
I shouldn’t have said “had to be”, it just looked to be.
The plane was not Russian form Dubai
Looks like he crashed it
I meant to say deck angle, not angle of attack in my post #7. The deck angle caused the fuel to uncover one or more boost pumps, which combined with the high fuel demand from the go-around power setting caused one or both engines to flame out.
