Landing attempt?
Are Russian pilots taught to land on their nose?
Chances are the pilots weren’t Russian. It’s a Dubai based carrier so it could employ almost any nationality you can think of. As usual, The Daily Telegraph in Britain has an article with a hundred times the detail than you’ll find in any of our rags. And while it doesn’t name the pilot and co-pilot yet it does say that besides the majority Russian passengers the nationalities of all aboard were “Ukrainian, Indian, Uzbek, Spanish, and Cypriot”. Also, weather conditions at the time were very bad and the cause may have been wind shear. The black box has been recovered.
