  • Trump wasn't calling for Clinton's assassination

Was Donald Trump calling for Hillary Clinton's assassination when he spoke on Tuesday in North Carolina? The New York Times sure seems to think so. This was Trump's apparently offensive quote: "Hillary wants to abolish, essentially abolish, the Second Amendment. By the way, and if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is. I don't know." Suppose the phrase Second Amendment people had been replaced with any other special-interest group. Would there be any claims that Trump was threatening assassinations? In a Newsweek interview on Monday, Hillary Clinton excoriated...
  • Official: No formal Secret Service discussions with Trump camp on remark

A federal official on Wednesday denied a news report that the U.S. Secret Service had formally spoken with Republican Donald Trump's presidential campaign regarding his suggestion a day earlier that gun rights activists could stop Democratic rival Hillary Clinton from curtailing their access to firearms. Pushing back against a CNN report that the law enforcement agency had had "more than one" exchange with the Trump camp about the remark, an official familiar with the matter told Reuters there had been no formal conversations with the campaign regarding the comment made to supporters the day before. "If she gets to pick...
  • White House to Trump: Election won't be 'rigged'

Donald Trump's declaration that the general election could be "rigged" against him reeks of a candidate poised for defeat, the White House suggested Wednesday. "I know this is the subject of debate at the end of the last presidential election when some supporters of Gov. [Mitt] Romney complained of skewed polling. So this is not a new claim. I would just note that it is often a claim made by people who don't end up winning elections," press secretary Josh Earnest told reporters at the daily briefing. "What I'll just say in general is that the cornerstone of our democracy...

ISIS has urged its supporters to 'break the cross' and listed six reasons why it hates Westerners in the latest issue of its propaganda magazine, Dabiq. The 15th issue of the twisted multi-lingual publication appears to target potential converts and attempts to claim that ISIS is in fact Islamic.
  • (Vanity) [From JANUARY 30, 2015] Obama’s shocking interference in the Israeli elections.

While all eyes are on Russia, I believe the recent Wikileak dump of DNC emails originated from Mossad (Israeli National Intelligence Agency). It was not that long ago when Obama sent a team of campaign hacks to Israel to topple Netanyahu in the Israeli elections. Payback is hell. Moreover, surely Israel prefers Trump instead of Clinton, who would represent Obama's third term and a contiuation of the anti Israeli foreign policy she established as Sec of State.

She's just as shocked as you are Whenever there’s a scandal involving a Clinton, you can be sure that the Clintons knew nothing about it. They are forever “out of the loop” when it comes to the sleazy, underhanded activities of their lackeys. This has been true in virtually every nefarious Clinton-based plot for the last twenty-five years, and there’s no reason to think anything’s changed. As always, when it comes to the DNC tipping the scales in her favor during the primaries, Hillary Clinton had no idea.
  • Poll: No Post-Convention Bounce for Donald Trump

Donald Trump received no significant bounce following the Republican National Convention, according to the latest NBC News|SurveyMonkey Weekly Election Tracking Poll. Hillary Clinton still leads Trump by a single point: 46 percent to 45 percent. These numbers are unchanged from last week. The Trump-Mike Pence ticket saw a modest boost in favorability among Republicans. Independents — the true persuadable voters — were less than enthusiastic about what they saw or heard about the GOP convention, according to the weekly tracking poll, conducted online from July 18 through July 24 among 12,931 adults who say they are registered to vote
  • Germany is in a dangerous state of denial about immigration, Islam and terrorism

n the past seven days, German civilians have come under attack from four men of Middle Eastern or Asian origin. Three have been linked to Isil. The latest incident saw a Syrian blow himself up outside a Bavarian festival after pledging allegiance to Isil. Joachim Herrmann, Bavaria’s interior minister, has suggested that such attacks raise questions about an immigration policy that has seen more than one million migrants enter Germany largely unchecked over the past year, many from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. Raising such questions may appear logical and sensible, but Germany’s debate about migration issues does not always follow...

Moscow (AFP) - The Kremlin on Tuesday dismissed allegations that Russia was behind a hack of the Democratic National Committee's emails as absurd, mocking what it called obsessive references to Russia in the US presidential campaign. "This absurd news was immediately refuted by the family of the well-known presidential candidate," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists, referring to Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr. "We are still seeing attempts to obsessively use the topic of Russia during the US electoral campaign," Peskov complained. "Unfortunately Russia is being used in the electoral campaign in the US. Unfortunately this traditional game is...

“An explosion outside a bar in the southern German city of Ansbach, Bavaria, has left at least one person dead and 12 others injured. A large-scale investigation has been launched into what is believed to have been a “deliberate” act. The Federal Office for Migration and Refugees will reveal why the suspect’s asylum application had previously been rejected later in the day Herrmann noted that those who are “seeking protection in Germany, must show full respect for the German legal system and the German population.” “The minister added that the attack demonstrated the need “to strengthen controls on those we...

On Monday morning DNC interim Convention Chair Donna Brazile spoke to reporters about the Wikileaks scandal. Brazile claims the hacked emails were “tampered with.” The truth is at the Democratic Party we have a very open process… On behalf of the party I want to apologize for the salacious and sensitive, very mean-spirited emails that were referenced to in Wikileaks. Now look, we all know the party’s emails were hacked. We know that they are being selectively leaked. We also know that they have been tampered with. And, so I do believe that as a party we have to make...

Either the mainstream press doesn’t get Donald J. Trump—or its poison pens are simply out to get him. Exhibit A is last week’s dour coverage of one of the most electrifying presidential nomination acceptance speeches in the last thirty years. I was at the Cleveland arena Thursday night where this history was made, and I was particularly revolted by Friday morning’s spin from two of the biggest Horseman of the Trump Apocalypse. The New York Times castigated the speech as “dark” and “angry” while the Washington Post labeled it “a dire portrait of a lawless, terrorized nation.” In truth,...

John Nienstedt, the former archbishop of the Archdiocese of Minneapolis and St. Paul, said accusations of sexual misconduct against him were part of a false smear campaign in response to his opposition to gay marriage. Nienstedt’s denial came in a statement Wednesday night, first issued to KSTP and Minnesota Public Radio. That followed the release of internal church documents alleging the Vatican had sought to derail an independent investigation that turned up credible evidence against him. Nienstedt resigned last year as archbishop and returned to his home state of Michigan. He was briefly involved with a diocese there but left...

President Barack Obama on Friday strongly denounced the dark and dire terms in which Donald Trump and the Republican Party described the condition of the United States after nearly eight years of his presidency. While remarking that he did not watch the convention, the president commented on reading "some of what was said and the one thing that I think is important to recognize is this idea that America is somehow on the verge of collapse, this vision of violence and chaos everywhere, doesn't really jibe with the experience of most people."

I transcribed the relevant part of the interview. CUOMO: Who takes the fall for cribbing Michelle Obama's speech in 2008? Whose fault is that? MANAFORT: Well, there's no cribbing of Michelle Obama's speech. These were common words and values that she cares about her family, that uh, that things like that. I mean, she was speaking in front of 35 million people last night - she knew that. I mean, to think that she would be cribbing Michelle Obama's words is crazy. I mean it's so, I mean once again, an example of a when a woman threatens Hillary Clinton...

Reports surfaced on Thursday afternoon that presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump picked Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his vice president (VP). “As Trump narrowed in on his choice of Pence, the two men spent time at both Trump’s golf resort in New Jersey in early July and at the Indiana governor’s mansion this week,” Roll Call notes, citing an anonymous Republican source for the report. The New York Times and CBS have also reported the pick is Pence. However, the Trump campaign is denying this is true. 1/2 A decision has not been made by Mr. Trump. He will be...

When it comes to Donald Trump's thinking about his running mate, Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions says he has not advocated for the presumptive Republican nominee to have a military general on the ticket. Retired Army Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn has been reportedly vetted for vice president, and "Fox News Sunday" fill-in host Shannon Bream alluded to a Washington Post story Saturday that reported the Alabama Republican is "encouraging Trump to perhaps choose a general." The West is failing in our conflict with Islam because we fail to acknowledge that Islam, itself, is the problem. Not hyphenated Islam, not merely the familiar terms used by many writers like Islamic-Terrorism, or Islamic-Fundamentalism, but ISLAM, Islam itself. Full stop. That's not something that most people are comfortable with saying or even thinking, because (in the West) it seems to run counter to some core beliefs, and reminds us of seemingly similar formulations that have terrible dark history associated with them. However, these impressions, upon further examination, are incorrect. The formulation "Islam is the problem", or even does...
