TMZ tracked down Joan Rivers again to confront her about her pro-Israel position relative to Hamas. Perhaps the best line from Rivers came when the reporter pointed out that Hamas was democratically elected. Rivers commented that the people who elected Hamas are ‘very stupid’ and ‘don’t even own a pencil’. The reporter also made reference to ’2000 Palestinians’ who are dead. Rivers then mocked the figure for being so low by pointing to Hiroshima, then saying the Palestinians started it and that the deaths are deserved. BOSTON (AP) — Brandeis (BRAN’-dys) University in Massachusetts has decided not to award an honorary degree to a woman who has made comments critical of Islam. The decision follows complaints from students, faculty members and others about honoring Somali-born Ayaan Hirsi Ali (ah-YAHN’ HUR’-see AH’-ee). In a 2007 interview with Reason Magazine, Ali was quoted saying that “we are at war with Islam” and urged that Muslims be “defeated.”

KABUL: Indian national Sushmita Banerjee, whose memoir about her dramatic escape from the Taliban was turned into a Bollywood film, was shot dead in Afghanistan by militants, police said on Thursday. As Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi said that virulent anti-Semitic comments which he reportedly said prior to his election were taken out of context, the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) released another video which depicts him making similar comments. The latest video is an address delivered by Morsi, which was posted on the Internet on January 10, 2010. It was translated by MEMRI and published on Wednesday.
