Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump will meet Monday night for their first debate in a virtual dead heat in the race for the White House, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll, with the Democratic nominee’s August advantage erased after recent difficulties and the GOP nominee still facing doubts about his qualifications and temperament. [Snip] Eight in 10 voters say they plan to watch Monday’s debate, and 44 percent expect Clinton to win vs. 34 percent expecting Trump to come out ahead. Expectations for Clinton are lower than they were for President Obama against Mitt Romney ahead of the...

DURHAM, N.H. —As Donald Trump prepares to accept the Republican Party’s presidential nomination in Cleveland on Thursday night, a new poll show that he is now deadlocked with Democrat Hillary Clinton in a one-on-one matchup in the battleground state of New Hampshire. The Granite State has only four electoral votes, but it is considered a swing state, and as such, it is closely watched and highly coveted in general election campaigns. The latest WMUR Granite State Poll, released on Thursday evening, has Clinton leading Trump, 39 percent to 37 percent, well within the poll’s 4.5 percent margin of error, while...

According to the interior ministry's final count of votes cast at polling-stations (in German), Mr Hofer took 51.9% to 48.1% for Mr Van der Bellen. But ORF public TV's projection (in German), which is usually considered reliable, has both men on 50%.

Foster McCollum White Baydoun (FMW)B, a national public opinion polling and voter analytics consulting firm based in Michigan and representing the combined resources of Foster McCollum White & Associates (Troy Michigan) and Baydoun Consulting (Dearborn Michigan) conducted a telephone-automated polling random survey of Michigan registered and most likely November 2012 General election voters for Fox 2 News Detroit to determine their voting and issue preferences for the presidential election. An initial qualifying statement was read to respondents asking them to participate only if they were very likely to vote in the November General Election. Thirty five thousand (35,000) calls were...

(CBS News) President Obama and Mitt Romney are effectively tied in the race for the presidency, according to a new CBS News/New York Times survey. Forty-seven percent of registered voters nationwide who lean towards a candidate back Romney, while 46 percent support the president. Four percent are undecided. The one percentage point difference is within the survey's three point margin of error. Romney leads by eight points among men; the president leads by five points among women. The president's supporters are more likely to strongly back their candidate. Fifty-two percent strongly favor Mr. Obama, while just 29 percent of Romney...

Polls are now showing Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Dave Loebsack in a virtual dead heat. Miller-Meeks has a message and it seems to be attracting voters. I don't think this rise is due to just Republican voters. I truly believe that there are Democrat and Independent voters that have listened to Miller-Meeks and decided that she can work for them better than Dave Loebsack.

A new poll by Reuters, C-SPAN, and Zogby show what most polls have told us about Iowa: it's still a dead heat. For Republicans, only one point separates Mike Huckabee from Mitt Romney, while Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John Edwards come within seven points of each other. It makes for a dramatic conclusion to the 2007 phase of the primaries: Democrat Hillary Clinton holds a narrow lead in Iowa four days before the state opens the presidential nominating race, while Republicans Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney are virtually tied, according to a Reuters/C-Span/Zogby poll released on Sunday. Clinton, a...

The final Ohio Poll for Tuesday's election finds President George W. Bush and Senator John Kerry in a statistical dead heat for Ohio’s 20 electoral votes. I've had it with these ridiculous polls and pundits claiming everything is a virtual tie. Even all the battleground states are a tie according to them! I have a suspicious feeling that a great majority of pollsters, pundits, and newservices are going to be scraping egg off their faces by 11pm Tuesday evening. What happened in 2000 was historic because it only happened 1 or 2 times in our history. 2000 was an anomole folks, pure and simple. The chances that this election will be another tie or deadheat are almost like lightening striking the same place twice. Think about...

So what did the Bushies see that others did not? Despite a wall of pundits conceding Kerry to Michigan, despite 37 of 40 polls tracking Kerry with comfortable margins, the Bushies still believed. They stepped up their Michigan efforts in these final weeks. And now, two days before Election Day, there it is in black and white: Kerry and Bush in a dead heat for Michigan according to The Detroit News and Zogby polls. While the Bush Team won’t tell you directly, their Michigan faith seems to center on three factors: turnout, minorities, and multi-state strategy. On turnout. Conventional wisdom...
