A Fred’s store in Murfreesboro, TN is getting a lot of attention due to a religious display ahead of Easter. The display, pictured below has the three crosses told of in the New Testament account of the crucifixion of Jesus. According to all four gospels, Jesus was brought to the “Place of a Skull” and crucified between two thieves, with the charge of claiming to be “King of the Jews,” and the soldiers divided his clothes before he bowed his head and died. Is The Shack a harmless work of Christian fiction—or a classic example of false teaching? When William P. Young's book The Shack first hit shelves 10 years ago, many pastors and church leaders praised it as a powerful story of redemption. More than 18 million copies have sold since, and The Shack movie is set to release this weekend. After taking a close look at the book in 2008, Dr. Michael Youssef was concerned that it might lead undiscerning leaders astray—so he devoted an entire sermon to addressing the book's theology. As a ministry dedicated to passionately proclaiming the Truth...

Soon No More Eucharist! Dear friends, Things are beginning to accelerate and to precipitate rather quickly now! As I wrote in my article, “Satan Apes Christ” (http://spir-food.blogspot.it/2016/09/satan-apes-christ.html): “There are various indications that the peace promised by Our Lady of Fatima will be fulfilled on the CENTENARY OF THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE GREAT MIRACLE OF THE SUN, October 13, 1917 at Fatima, Portugal, which will be October 13, 2017!” Three weeks before this date, on September 23, 2017, we will see “the woman clothed with the sun” (Rev 12:1-2) in the heavens (“Signs of God vs. Signs of Satan”; http://spir-food.blogspot.it/2016/12/signs-god-vs-satan.html). “The...
  • Street Preachers Convicted for Quoting Bible [UK]

    03/03/2017 5:55:38 PM PST · by marshmallow · 18 replies
Two street preachers have been convicted of public order offences, after a public prosecutor claimed that quoting parts of the King James Bible in the context of modern British society "must be considered to be abusive and is a criminal matter". The prosecutor had argued that free speech must yield to multicultural reality in modern Britain, and that there was a clear threat to violence due to the words of the preachers and the criticism of Islam. Michael Overd and Michael Stockwell were convicted today (28th February) at Bristol Magistrates' Court. On Friday (25th February) the court dismissed the case...

Carol Monaghan said that most people did not know what the symbol meantCatholic MP Carol Monaghan has said that having ashes on her forehead at a Commons select committee meeting turned into a teaching moment when a number of colleagues did not know what the symbol meant. The MP for Glasgow North West told the BBC that she was not embarrassed to appear on television displaying the mark. “When I came into committee, one of the members asked me about it. I said ‘it’s Ash Wednesday’ and they said ‘but this is going to be broadcast’. “I think they just...

Approximately 90,000 Christians were killed for their faith in 2016 worldwide, making them the most persecuted religious group in the world. That number — which amounts to one Christian killed every six minutes — is down a bit from 2015 when the number was estimated to be approximately 105,000.According to a Fox News report, nearly a third of the deaths in 2016 were at the hands of Islamic extremists like ISIS, and others were killed by state and non-state persecution. Massimo Introvigne, director of CENSUR, told Vatican Radio that approximately 70 percent of the martyred Christians in 2016 were from tribal villages in Africa, and their...

According to a report in The London Times and best selling Catholic author and journalist Antonio Socci, about 12 cardinals who have supported Pope Francis since his election in March 2013 now fear that his controversial reforms may cause a schism in the Church, and so they hope to pressure the Pope to resign. "A large part of the cardinals who voted for him is very worried and the curia ... that organized his election and has accompanied him thus far, without ever disassociating itself from him, is cultivationg the idea of a moral suasion to convince him to retire,"...

A private high school in California earned millions from the Snap Inc. public offering, after two students told their dad about the popularity of the app five years ago. Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, Calif., invested $15,000 in Snapchat’s seed round when the dad, Lightspeed partner Barry Eggers, invited the school’s board to participate in the seed round with his firm. That investment has paid off, as Snap started trading Thursday, and closed 44% above its issue price. Shares of Snap soared 11% Friday to $27.09, compared with the S&P 500 SPX, +0.05% which inched up less than...

The decades-long controversy over whether Pope Pius XII failed to do and say enough to thwart Nazi atrocities has been dubbed the “Pius Wars.” Mark Riebling has struck a firm blow for Pius’s defenders by using recently unsealed transcripts and files to turn the oft-repeated narrative on its head. Riebling builds his case around Bavarian lawyer Josef Müller, whom the Nazis called “the best agent of the Vatican Intelligence in Germany.” The Nazis eventually arrested Müller for protecting Jews and conspiring to kill Hitler and accused him of “using the spy service of the Catholic clergy.” A war hero and...

A study week was convened at the Casina Pio IV in the Vatican on February 27-March 1, 2007, by the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences to review what we know about biological extinction, its causes and the ways in which we might limit its extent. The participants concluded, based on comparisons with the fossil record, that the current rate of loss of species is approximately 1,000 times the historical rate, with perhaps a quarter of all species in danger of extinction now and as many as half of them may be gone by the...

A near-record 318 people and organizations are in the running for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize, the Nobel Institute said on Thursday, a motley crew believed to include Syria’s White Helmets, Donald Trump and Pope Francis. The names of the nominees are kept secret for 50 years, but those entitled to nominate candidates – including lawmakers and government ministers, former laureates and some university professors – are free to reveal the name of the person or group they have nominated. As a result, the list is believed to include the White Helmets, jailed Saudi blogger Raif Badawi, and Edward Snowden,...

Plans will see sex education become a part of the national curriculum in schools across the countryGovernment plans that could see compulsory sex education being taught to children as young as four have been deemed “abhorrent” by a pro-life charity. The move to overhaul sex education in schools comes after a group of 23 Conservative MPs backed a change to the law that would see Sex and Relationship Education made a compulsory part of the National Curriculum. The government has not announced what “sex and relationships” education will mean in practice, and will not to do until a consultation has...
  • Population Controllers to Vatican: ‘Responsible Parenthood’ Has Failed. Use ‘Taxes and Regulations'

March 2, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) -- Population controllers told the Vatican at a conference this week that the Catholic teaching of “responsible parenthood” in determining family size has “result[ed] in collective failure” in reducing the world’s population. They suggested that the only way to stop the exhaustion of “humanity’s natural capital” is by imposing a system of “taxes and regulations” that would help modify “social norms of behaviour.” This week’s Vatican symposium on Biological Extinction, sponsored by the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences was a closed-door event. Speaking at the event were two controversial figures,...
  • Here’s why Catholics don’t eat meat on Fridays during Lent

You know you are in a Catholic town when, only during Lent, every single restaurant advertises one item on their menu: fish! I have even noticed how major fast-food chains point out on their fliers the date of Ash Wednesday! Suddenly everyone cares about the liturgical seasons of the Church! So why is it that the Church instructs Catholics to abstain from meat on Fridays (as well as Ash Wednesday and Good Friday), but gives the “thumbs-up” for Catholics to eat fish? Sounds fishy to me!First of all we must ask the question, “why Friday?” The USCCB gives a succinct explanation:Catholic peoples from time immemorial...

The history of the Church is driven by missionaries, brave men and women who left family and homeland behind to engage alien cultures, risking their lives to introduce strangers to the love of Jesus. Every country has its founders: St. Francis Xavier in 16th-century Japan, St. Augustine of Canterbury in 6th-century England, St. Thomas in 1st-century India. In Korea, the story is different.Korea wasn’t introduced to the gospel by a charismatic priest or a company of selfless friars. Korea, in fact, is the only country that evangelized itself. More than two centuries after Xavier brought the Gospel to Japan and more than...

This sub-section consists of a number of pages, including one for each Zodiac sign, so you'll have to visit to read it. But the introduction brings up something really fascinating that St. Paul, the Apostle brings up when referencing a Psalm! Very, VERY interesting!

February 28, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) -- Catholics must "resist" the Vatican's increasing alliance with the United Nations under Pope Francis' watch, insists a global coalition of pro-life and pro-family organizations in a new analysis. This alliance, they warn, is giving credence to the pro-abortion global population control agenda and is a direct threat to the family. This new alliance, unthinkable under the pontificates of Pope St. John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI, has led to what Voice of the Family (VotF) is calling an “immediate and serious threat posed to children and the family.” The coalition of major pro-life and...

Last month it was the Anglicans who chose to "queer the liturgy" of evening prayer in honor LGTB history month by renaming the Holy Spirit "The Fantabulosa Fairy" and God the Father became "the Dutchess". Not to be outdone, Catholic LGTB supporters and numerous left leaning protestant churches throughout the United States and Canada intend to show their support by wearing "glitter ash" on their foreheads to mark Ash Wednesday.
