A local pastor said he was told his advertisements on bus benches in Colorado Springs would be barred if they use the name Jesus. Lawson Perdue, a pastor at Charis Christian Center in west Colorado Springs for 15 years, said he was told if the name Jesus was allowed, hate messages would have to be allowed, too. Perdue said his church has been advertising on transit benches in the city for the past three years, using various Jesus-related campaigns. Two years ago benches said "Celebrate Jesus," last year benches said "Experience Jesus," and now benches say "Jesus is Lord."

"Dance Moms" star Abby Lee Miller pleaded guilty Monday to bankruptcy fraud and failing to report thousands of dollars in Australian currency she brought into the country. She was charged last fall with illegally trying to hide $775,000 worth of income from the Lifetime network reality show and spinoff projects during her Chapter 11 bankruptcy. It is necessary to state at the outset that I despise Neo-Nazis. But that does not mean that I approve of violent attacks on them as they peacefully exercise their rights to free speech. And that seems to have been what happened in Sacramento yesterday, despite media reports that report “violence erupts” and other such passive voice euphemisms that obscure the difference between perpetrator and victim. An important caveat is that I was not there and am relying on both reading between the lines of media reports and on local Sacramento talk radio.
