BOSTON (WHDH) - After six days of deliberations, the jury in the double-murder trial of Aaron Hernandez found him not guilty for the 2012 murders of two men in Boston’s South End. The former New England Patriots tight end was on trial for the killings of Safiro Furtado and Daniel de Abreu after one of them accidentally spilled a drink on him at the Cure Lounge. Throughout the trial, his lawyers argued that it was Hernandez’s friend, Alexander Bradley, who shot the men in a drug deal while parked at a stop light.

An Ohio woman accused of raping and robbing a male taxi driver was arrested while two accomplices remain at large. Brittany Carter, 23, was charged this month with first-degree rape and aggravated robbery for a Jan. 28 incident in Findlay, Ohio, according to the News-Messenger. Police said Carter got into a taxi around 4:24 a.m. with two men that was called from a local hotel. In the vehicle, Carter performed a sex act on the 29-year-old driver while another passenger, Corey Jackson, 20, held a knife against his throat.

CHARLESTON, SC Dylann Roof, a white supremacist from the Columbia area, pleaded guilty on Monday to nine murder charges in state court for the slayings of nine victims at an African-American church in Charleston. Under the plea agreement, he was sentenced to nine sentences of life in prison, to be spent in a federal prison, as he awaits his death sentence after being found guilty in federal court in December on murder and hate crime charges.
