Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Sunday blasted President Trump for not taking action to protect the U.S. from Russian meddling in future elections, saying "that we don’t have a president speaking out on this issue is a horror show." His comments follow an indictment released Friday by special counsel Robert Mueller outlining multiple actors who played a role in extensive Russian efforts to interfere in the 2016 election. "We have got to bring Democrats and Republicans together despite the president to go forward to protect the integrity of American democracy,” Sanders said on NBC's “Meet The Press.”

Trump claimed yesterday that Democrats “didn’t want to” solve the gun problem. David Hogg, who said the day after the shooting that “children will continue to die if we don’t take a stand now,” looked into the camera on CBS’ Face the Nation and said this to the President: “President Trump, you control the House of Representatives, you control the Senate, and you control the executive. You haven’t taken a single bill...

During a February 18 appearance on NBC’s Meet the Press, Sen. James Lankford (R-OK) told Chuck Todd that handguns are used for crime far more often than AR-15s. Lankford’s statement followed Todd’s focus on how an 18-year-old can buy an AR-15 in Florida, but must be 21 in order to buy a handgun. During the live broadcast, Lankford responded, “An AR-15 is a rifle, a handgun is obviously a handgun…[and] there are three, four, five times as many crimes committed with a handgun than there are with a rifle.” He added, “When you look at the statistics, many, many, many,...

Reuters) - Hungarian leader Viktor Orban called on Sunday for a global alliance against migration as his right-wing populist Fidesz party began campaigning for an April 8 election in which it is expected to win a third consecutive landslide victory. Popular at home but increasingly at odds politically and economically with mainstream European Union peers, Orban has thrived on external controversy, including repeated clashes with Brussels and lately the United Nations. Those conflicts, mostly centered on migration since people fleeing war and poverty in the Middle East and Africa flooded into Europe in 2015, have intensified as the elections approach...

Imagine you open the faucet of your kitchen sink expecting water and instead out comes cash. Now imagine that it comes out at the rate of $1 million a minute. You call your plumber, who thinks you’re crazy. To get you off the phone, he opines that it is your sink and therefore must be your money. So you spend it wildly. Then you realize that the money wasn’t yours and you owe it back. Now imagine that this happens every minute of every day for the next three years. At the end of the three years, you owe back...

I was in my environmental science class when the first gunshot echoed through the hallways. We never had an active shooter drill at my school, and though we did talk about what to do in this type of situation, nothing could have prepared us for this. Politicians and, more importantly, the American public must take action if we're going to prevent the next shooting.

“Cameron, you had some very harsh words this week for Senator Marco Rubio, Governor Rick Scott here in Florida. You said they have blood on their hands,” Raddatz teed up Kasky for his anti-gun/NRA screed: At this point, any politician on either side who is taking money from the NRA is responsible for events like this. And one of the things we're trying to do here is give everybody a clean slate and create a new normal where there's a badge of shame on any politician who is accepting money from the NRA no matter where they are. At the...

The plan was so detailed, right down to zip-ties "on the door handles so b-----s can't escape," that a very frightened Catherine O'Connor called the police on her own grandson. "He's planning on having a mass shooting at one of the schools," she calmly told the 911 operator in Everett, Wash. Then there was the matter of the rifle she said she found inside a guitar case in her grandson's bedroom. ~ The entries in his journal were methodical and written in point-by-point detail, police said. They were also chilling in the teen's excitement at the prospect of killing his...

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin offered comments about Wednesday’s mass murder at a Florida high school when she spoke with Breitbart News’s Senior Editor-at-Large Rebecca Mansour on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight on Friday. “It’s not a Second Amendment gun issue at all,” Palin said, adding, “What needs to be discussed is the failure of the FBI.” Incompetence at the FBI — not agitation against the Second Amendment — should be a national focus related to the mass shooting in Florida, said Palin. Adding to that assertion, Palin stated, “What needs to be discussed is the failure of the FBI. This...
