LONDON (Reuters) - British Prime Minister Theresa May's Conservative Party has an 18 percentage point lead over the main opposition Labor Party, implying a majority of at least 132 seats in a June 8 national election, according to an ICM poll for the Sun on Sunday. The Conservatives were at 46 percent, down one percentage point, against Labor on an unchanged 28 percent, the paper said.

Top staffers loyal to ousted Heritage Foundation president Jim DeMint have stepped down from organization, according to a new report. The Daily Beast reported Tuesday evening that top staffers -- including Executive Vice President Bret Bernhardt, Vice President of Communications Wesley Denton, Vice President of Policy Promotion Ed Corrigan and DeMint’s chief of staff, Camera Seward, have resigned. The Heritage Foundation announced DeMint’s resignation earlier Tuesday, blaming the former leader for "significant and worsening management issues that led to a breakdown of internal communications and cooperation.” DeMint, a former South Carolina senator, took the helm of Heritage in 2013. Media industry website Mediaite reported Friday that “conservative fat cats” are considering the formation of a new conservative media outlet. According to Mediaite’s report, the pace of the “serious discussions” has been picking up in the wake of rumors suggesting additional changes are in store at Fox News. Fox News star Sean Hannity is looking to leave the network and may be out by the end of the week, according to a Daily Beast report. Hannity was a long-time ally of Fox News co-president Bill Shine, who resigned from the network Monday morning. Hannity defended Shine on Twitter as the executive came under scrutiny for his role in Fox’s sexual harassment controversy since Roger Ailes’ departure from the network last summer. Two conservative journalists have sparked outcry on social media by making what some have interpreted as a white supremacist hand symbol at a recent visit to the White House. Freelance journalist Mike Cernovich and Cassandra Fairbanks, a reporter for Russian news outlet Sputnik, posed for a picture behind the podium in the White House briefing room. Portland Police officers dressed in riot gear patrolled the march, and worked to keep the opposing groups on opposite sides of the street despite several cases of "intermingling." Officers said they saw demonstrators with guns, improvised weapons, and defensive gear in the area, but no violence was reported. Police did, however, arrest one person wearing a pumpkin outfit for disorderly conduct. The person was later identified as a man named Luis Marquez. Officers say they found a collapsable baton on Marquez.

Politico is reporting that several sources on the board of the Heritage Foundation are saying there is an organized effort to dump the organization's president, Jim DeMint.  DeMint, who has a close relationship with the Trump White House, is accused of being "too political" and corrupting the foundation's historic mission of research and policy formulation. Liberal protesters stormed the Washington, D.C., headquarters of the conservative Heritage Foundation on Tuesday — but the demonstration backfired when Heritage later took to Twitter using the event to promote one of its policy papers. What can be done? Acts of violence and physical intimidation aimed at conservatives on American campuses are growing – and college administrators, who sympathize with the progressive fascist lynch mobs doing the misdeeds, are generally fine with the mayhem. "Diversity statements" are used by universities in Oregon to weed out conservative and other right-leaning scholars at universities, a new report issued by the Oregon Association of Scholars (OAS) alleges. Per the report, the universities in Oregon (University of Oregon, Oregon State University, Portland State University, and Oregon Health and Science University) use a new kind of litmus test to single out conservative scholars: diversity statements. The report’s executive summary reads, as follows: Oregon colleges and universities have begun to impose requirements for prospective and current faculty to show their commitment to the partisan ideology of "diversity, equity, and inclusion."...

Several black activists at Pomona College, associated with the Claremont Colleges, have sent a letter to the college president asking administrators to "take action" against conservative journalists from the student publication The Claremont Independent. The president, David Oxtoby, posted an email defending the right of Black Lives Matter critic Heather Mac Donald to speak.  Mac Donald was physically threatened and forced to cancel a lecture at Claremont following protests against her appearance. The activists claim that "free speech" is incompatible with "truth" and therefore should not be protected.
