Jim DeMint is being forced out as the leader of the conservative Heritage Foundation think tank amid internal tensions at the organization over its direction, several sources have confirmed to Fox News.

The former South Carolina Republican senator's imminent departure was first reported late last week and has since sparked widespread speculation about what led to the separation.

This was especially juicy: “Another explanation for the split is that DeMint strayed from conservative principles by getting too close to the populist-styled Trump . . “

A philosophy/practicality schism. No big deal.

What’s amazing is how little change is happening at conservative establishments now.

If DeMint is too much for them, i doubt that they would accept Bannon. There’s been speculation that Steve may be taking that spot.

DeMint was probably senator for life, yet he left the senate to lead Heritage. Now, he is being forced out.

My questions: what did he do at Heritage? Anything at all? Please tell me what he did with years of his life. What did he do for us, the conservative people?

Also, why did he leave senate?

It’s being portrayed as a Michael Needham vs. DeMint feud.

I saw him as GOPe.

You saw wrong. Or you didn't see him when he fought the Dems on the floor in 2009. He fought to audit the Fed. He certainly fought McConnell. A whistleblower.

"Also, why did he leave senate?"

I believe DeMint made a statement to the effect that he could do more for the conservative cause by going to the foundation than staying as a cog in the Senate. I think he felt that Heritage offered more opportunity to provide conservative education and outreach to the unwashed masses. Seems that the coup in DC is being engineered by the Globalist Uniparty rather than those who want to drain the swamp.

Nothing.

Doesn’t matter why he left the senate, doesn’t matter that he was in the senate.

No Republican is of any particular consequence.

Heritage used to run Townhall until selling it to Salem Media, home of Michael Medved and Hugh Hewitt, back in 1995.

I suppose if we had been paying attention to that we would have known that Heritage was well past their sell-by date.
