The Army football team and its fans around the world can finally rejoice. No longer will they have to listen to barbs from Navy or lament another missed opportunity in the biggest game of the year. At long last, The Streak is over. Army ended a 14-year run of frustration against the Midshipmen, using an overpowering running game and opportunistic defense to carve out a long overdue 21-17 victory Saturday. With future commander in chief Donald Trump looking on, the Black Knights blew a 14-point lead before quarterback Ahmad Bradshaw scored on a 9-yard run with 6:42 left to give...

A brief skirmish between South Carolina and Clemson players broke out on the field before Saturday's game at Memorial Stadium, and Gamecocks players said afterward that it began when a Clemson player shouted a racial slur. The confrontation between the two teams occurred on the field about 80 minutes before the game began, according to The State. South Carolina linebacker Bryson Allen-Williams told reporters that a Clemson player "used the N-word." He said he was unable to identify the player.

Disclosure: I know this not politcal news, but it may become so since the original hit was white on black. I am a USC alumnus! First of all, #28 Notre Dame defensive player blindsided USC's Aca’Cedric Ware with a helmet smash on Aca’Cedric Ware's right helmet side knocking him unconcious. Then before medical help arrived, Notre Dame's #99, Jerry Tillery, used his left foot to push the head of the downed USC player before being shoved away by USC staff. Then later, this same animal stomped on the foot of a downed and injured USC player. I have listed the...

Game lived up to the hype. Some thoughts: Michigan gave up 14 points on turnovers.Michigan's defense ran out of gas in the 4th quarter.THE Ohio State University might actually prefer Penn State to beat Michigan State. Penn State will play in the Big 10 = 14 Conference game instead of THE Ohio State University. In this case, THE Ohio State University has punched their ticket the playoff.Hated THE Ohio State University wearing the all black helmets.

Cork GainesNovember 1, 2016 The first College Football Playoff ranking is out and the Alabama Crimson Tide are No. 1. Alabama is followed by Clemson, Michigan, and Texas A&M. The first teams on the outside, looking in, are Washington (No. 5) and Ohio State (No. 6). The biggest surprise is Texas A&M being ranked fourth, ahead of Washington. The Aggies are ranked seventh in the Associated Press poll after having lost 33-14 to Alabama. Washington is 8-0 and is the only undefeated Power-5 conference team that is not among the top four. Interestingly, this ranking includes two teams from the...

The ACC officially has a new location for its football championship game. The conference announced Thursday morning that the game will move to Orlando’s Camping World Stadium. The move comes two weeks after the conference, following an NCAA decision, decided to move all of its championships outside of the state of North Carolina because of House Bill 2 (HB2), a state law that requires transgender people to use public bathrooms that match the gender on their birth certificates instead of the gender with which they identify.

Earlier this week, CoachingSearch looked at the longest-tenured assistants in FBS. Now, here’s a look at the tenure of every FBS head coach. Illustrating the amount of turnover in the profession, 108 of the 129 FBS head coaches have been hired since 2010, and 88 have been hired in the past four years. That means more than 2/3 of all head coaches have been hired since 2013.Some veteran coaches who left the list this offseason included Frank Beamer (1987), Gary Pinkel (2001), George O’Leary (2004), and Steve Spurrier (2005).First, the longest tenured coach in each conference:AAC: Ken Niumatalolo (Navy) -...
