A brief skirmish between South Carolina and Clemson players broke out on the field before Saturday's game at Memorial Stadium, and Gamecocks players said afterward that it began when a Clemson player shouted a racial slur. The confrontation between the two teams occurred on the field about 80 minutes before the game began, according to The State. South Carolina linebacker Bryson Allen-Williams told reporters that a Clemson player "used the N-word." He said he was unable to identify the player.

Texas will fire head coach Charlie Strong on Saturday morning, SI's Pete Thamel has confirmed. Chip Brown of Scout.com first reported the news. Texas men's athletic director Mike Perrin issued a statement last Sunday, saying that the school will "evaluate the body of work after the regular season," after Thamel confirmed that the school had made the decision to fire Strong.

The ACC officially has a new location for its football championship game. The conference announced Thursday morning that the game will move to Orlando’s Camping World Stadium. The move comes two weeks after the conference, following an NCAA decision, decided to move all of its championships outside of the state of North Carolina because of House Bill 2 (HB2), a state law that requires transgender people to use public bathrooms that match the gender on their birth certificates instead of the gender with which they identify.
