Pressure is growing on Western food and drink giants to pull out of Russia due to the invasion of Ukraine. McDonald's and Coca-Cola have been criticised on social media for failing to speak out about the attacks and continuing to operate in the country. Well-known firms including Netflix and Levi's have already suspended sales or stopped providing services in Russia. McDonald's and Coca-Cola have not responded to the BBC's request for comment. #BoycottMcDonalds and #BoycottCocaCola were trending on Twitter on Monday and over the weekend respectively. -snip- The criticism comes amid calls for other well-known Western firms such as KFC,...

Coca Cola's social division and political bias have placed the business on the wrong side of history on multiple occasions. Unfortunately, it's becoming a pattern. The manufactured image of Coke as an American patriotic drink, sending the message both at the front and at home that drinking Coca-Cola was synonymous with fighting against the enemies of freedom and democracy. Yet Coca-Cola was sending this message to its public. It was also doing business in Nazi Germany, where apparently the "Coca-Cola logo rested comfortably next to the swastika." This leads one to question whether or not the Company should have attempted...

Good morning everyone. I drank a Coca Cola after church services this past Sunday at our get together and it tasted funny. I was wondering if my encounter with Covid some months ago had affected my taste. Then, wifey bought some coke yesterday and it tasted the same as it did Sunday. It doesn't taste like Coke used to taste. Anyone else notice the change? Other things taste normal to me so was wondering what is going on with Coca Cola. Anyone know if they changed the formula? Is it now Biden Cola?

I screwed up. I usually run “Best Christmas Ads” on the Sunday between Black Friday and Cyber Monday but simply forgot this year. Possibly because nobody makes really good Christmas ads anymore. “Woke” and Christmas just doesn’t seem a natural pairing, but still the agencies try; producing such fare as this John Lewis and Partners commercial that morphs the now mandatory inter-racial hook-up into an inter-species encounter where an albino alien meets up with a little earthbound gingerbread man. Global beverage leader Coca-Cola's China unit has continued to increase its presence in the country's low-alcohol beverage market by launching another such drink called Lemon-Dou craft, a Japanese-style alcoholic drink. The company introduced its first alcoholic beverage Topo-Chico Hard Seltzer in China in June. Three flavors of Lemon-Dou are now available in the Chinese mainland market, with different levels of alcohol and different amounts of lemon juice. The series of products are available on e-commerce platforms in September and will gradually cover various retail channels including hypermarkets, supermarkets and convenience stores nationwide. Lemon-Dou was first launched in Kyushu, Japan, in...

A Chinese man allegedly died of a fatal gas buildup after chugging a massive amount of Coca-Cola in 10 minutes. The freak accident was detailed in the journal “Clinics and Research in Hepatology and Gastroenterology.” The fizzy fiasco occurred after the 22-year-old patient rapidly downed a 1.5-liter bottle of Coke to stay hydrated during the hot weather, the Daily Mail reported. Six hours later, he started experiencing a swollen stomach and severe pain, which prompted him to report to Chaoyang Hospital in Beijing.

After I found Diet Coke in 1982, I drank at the very least three to 4 12-ounce cans almost each day for the following 4 a long time, regardless of the place on the planet I used to be. Coca-Cola thought personalized bottles might bring some summer fun to its fans. Instead, it met the internet. The company's make-your-own label promotion lets customers write short messages on custom Coke bottles. Although Coca-Cola tried to block some slurs and trademarks, social media users were quick to discover that the company's restrictions were hardly comprehensive — and in some cases blocked inoffensive terms. For example, "Black Lives Matter," is blocked. But "White Lives Matter" isn't. Coke included a special rainbow label for pride month, but you can't write "Gay Pride" on the bottle. However, you can write "I hate gays." "Hitler"...

Not since “New Coke” has Coca-Cola insisted on being so wrongheaded. “New” Coke lasted just 79 days before Coke customers rebelled and the company was forced to revert to the original recipe."The simple fact is that all of the time and money and skill poured into consumer research on a new Coca-Cola could not measure or reveal the depth and abiding emotional attachment to original Coca-Cola felt by so many people." What happens when 80 million Americans stop drinking Coke? We are about to find out, and may have been recently given a first look at the consequences as Coke ‘pauses’ its mandated diversity hiring plan, which many legal analysts say is illegal. The Coca Cola company famously came out in opposition of legislation targeting election fraud in Georgia, angering Trump supporters, and Constitutionalists worldwide, which proceeded to boycott Coke’s products.

Coca-Cola has paused its controversial diversity plan — that included penalties on outside law firms if they failed to meet racial diversity quotas — after intense backlash. The pause comes after the orchestrator of the plan, Coke’s former general counsel Bradley Gayton, abruptly resigned last month after less than a year on the job and as criticism of the quotas mounted. Some questioned whether Gayton’s policies violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which says employers can’t treat people differently based on their race. Coca-Cola hired Gayton in September 2020 after spending nearly 30 years as the...

Coca-Cola appears to be putting a ‘pause’ on its plan to transition to ‘woke-a-Cola.’ The soft drink giant announced last week that it was suspending its ‘diversity initiative’ after the firm replaced its top lawyer after just eight months on the job. Bradley Gayton abruptly resigned last week as the company’s general counsel just months after he introduced ‘aggressive’ diversity initiatives that included requiring the firm’s outside lawyers to meet diversity quotas.

Coca-Cola’s top lawyer, who had made a public push to diversify the ranks of outside attorneys serving the beverage giant, is vacating the post after less than eight months amid company challenges tied to taxes and social issues. Coke didn’t offer a reason for the end of Bradley Gayton’s role as senior vice president and global general counsel. It declined to comment Thursday beyond a press release and disclosure form. The Atlanta-based company said Gayton has been appointed to a one-year strategic consultant role and “will focus on working with Chairman and CEO James Quincey to drive certain key objectives.”...
