Coca-Cola has paused its controversial diversity plan — that included penalties on outside law firms if they failed to meet racial diversity quotas — after intense backlash.

The pause comes after the orchestrator of the plan, Coke’s former general counsel Bradley Gayton, abruptly resigned last month after less than a year on the job and as criticism of the quotas mounted.

Some questioned whether Gayton’s policies violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which says employers can’t treat people differently based on their race.

Woke-a-Cola angered a lot of consumers. I've seen endcap displays in supermarkets with give-away prices if you bought at least two and just recently saw a standalone tower display loaded with Woke-a-Cola at give-away prices. It look like it was 3 feet by 3 feet wide with 4 or 5 tiers.

Meanwhile, the Dr. Pepper supplies are getting low.

Same here. In addition no Simply Orange, Minute Maid, DeSanti water, Fairlife milk, Gold Peak, Schweppes, or other brands they produce and sell.

If anything, this has helped people reduce the amount of soda they drink. Which is a positive for their health.
