  • ADHD Questions * VANITY *

I have debated over this issue for quite some time. My 7 year old son likely has some kind of ADD/ADHD. He is very hyper most of the time, very hard for him to pay attention and he gets easily distracted. I also think its affecting his relationships with fellow children. This issue was first brought up last year and i dismissed it right away, but the more i started to watch him the more i started to realise there IS something going on with him. He cant seem to control himself and gets over stimulated very easily. I have...

COPENHAGEN: The industrialized countries are cheating the world. A confidential document of the UN Frame Convention on Climate Change secretariat prepared on December 15 shows, contrary to what the rich nations might claim, even if they come true on their current pledges to reduce emissions the world is headed towards a 3 degree temperature rise by 2050, not two degree Celsius – the tipping point. LONDON (CNN) -- The latest video from Somalia's al Qaeda-backed Al-Shabaab wing is as slickly produced as a reality TV show but with a startling message -- complete with a hip-hop jihad vibe. Experts think Abu Mansoor al-Amriki, dubbed "The American" by al Qaeda, speaks in the Somali video. "Mortar by mortar, shell by shell, only going to stop when I send them to hell," the unidentified voice raps on the video, which runs at least 18 minutes. The video also shows a man reported to be Abu Mansoor al-Amriki, dubbed "The American" by al Qaeda. He apparently is now...

Last night on Fast Money, Guy Adami mentioned that "the PE is very compelling" for Hewlett Packard [HPQ 28.61 --- UNCH (0) ]. Many of the PE's for the Dow 30 are at historic lows and appear to be very compelling. As of yesterday's, close, the average PE for the 30 Dow components is under 10. Looking at other points over the decade, that average has been between 17 and 30 according to data from Thomson Reuters. When the markets begin to normalize, it is likely that stocks will move back toward their historical multiples, implying some significant gains.

WASHINGTON -- Krauthammer's Hail Mary Rule: You get only two per game. John McCain, unfortunately, has already thrown three. The first was his bet on the surge, a deep pass to David Petraeus who miraculously ran it all the way into the end zone. Then, seeking a game-changer after the Democratic convention, McCain threw blind into the end zone to a waiting Sarah Palin. She caught the ball. Her subsequent fumbles have taken the sheen off of that play, but she nonetheless invaluably solidifies his Republican base.

ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- Larry Horsley loves that he doesn't buy much gas, even though he drives his '95 Chevy S-10 back and forth to work each day. Larry Horsley's pickup has a set of neatly arranged electronics where his engine once was. 1 of 2 Horsley, a self-described do-it-yourselfer, simply plugs his truck into an electric wall outlet in his Douglasville, Georgia, garage and charges it overnight, instead of buying gasoline refined from mostly imported oil.

BERLIN, Germany (AP) -- A German man doused his BMW with gasoline and torched it Friday in protest at skyrocketing fuel costs, police said. The unemployed 30-year-old man drove a black 1995 BMW 3-series sedan onto the lawn outside Frankfurt's convention center grounds at about 7:30 a.m., police spokesman Karlheinz Wagner said. He then jumped out, emptied a canister of gas over the vehicle and set fire to it, Wagner said.

Years ago, when Jack Greenberg left the NAACP Legal Defense Fund to become a professor at Columbia University, he announced that he was going to make it a point to hire a black secretary at Columbia. This would, of course, make whomever he hired be seen as a token black, rather than as someone selected on the basis of competence. This reminded me of the first time I went to Milton Friedman's office when I was a graduate student at the University of Chicago back in 1960, and I noticed that he had a black secretary. This was four years...

"She has made it clear she definitely wants to come along," her father Michael Lohan told the celebrity magazine. "Our trip next February encompasses the issues of child sexual slavery in India. We also deal with helping AIDS victims." Her father, who previously had a very turbulent relationship with his 21-year-old daughter, told the magazine Lohan has been considering other international missions. It's now said that we're in the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression, but that judgment seems premature. In the 1980s, most of the savings and loan industry, then the largest source of home mortgage loans, was wiped out. At decade's end, commercial banks faced huge losses on loans to developing countries and for commercial real estate and energy projects. From 1988 to 1992, 905 banks failed, the most since the 1930s. The 1997-98 Asian crisis involved more bad lending — mainly by U.S., Japanese and European banks — that sent Thailand, South Korea and other nations careening from...
