John Kasich says he wouldn't have signed North Carolina's so-called bathroom bill shielding businesses from anti-gay lawsuits and requiring transgender people to use restrooms corresponding to the sex on their birth certificates. In an interview to be aired on CBS News' "Face the Nation" Sunday, the Ohio governor called the legislation too potentially "contentious." "I believe that religious institutions ought to be protected and be able to be in a position of where they can live out their deeply held religious purposes," he said in remarks released Saturday. ďThe reason I endorsed Arlen Specter is because we were going to have two Supreme Court nominees coming up,Ē said Santorum. ďI got a commitment from Arlen Specter that no matter who George W. Bush would nominate, he would support that nominee.Ē The former senator didnít win over everyone with that, and bristled a bit at the end of his answer. ďYou questioned my judgment, and you have every right to do so. But please donít question my intention to do whatís right for those little babies.Ē I would reiterate that sentiment. You may think the decision was not a...

The GOP could face a revolt from within its tea party grassroots base if it nominates an establishment candidate without true conservative, anti-big government values, one of Americaís leading conservative pundits tells Newsmax.TV in an exclusive interview. Specifically, columnist and former Republican presidential candidate Pat Buchanan told Newsmax that the nomination of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, the architect of a state insurance plan that many say inspired Obamacare, could prompt the tea party movement to form a third party. ďItís a real possibility because the tea party folks and the Republican conservatives and social conservatives and others are very...

Republican Bob Turner won handily over the Democratic candidate in a district that no a Republican has won since 1923. Every significant GOP candidate for president is pro-life; snip Social conservatives make up a significant percentage of the Tea Party movement snip With 33 Senate seats up for grabs in 2012, the Democrats will have to defend 23 while the Republicans must defend only 10, snip When Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels (R) called on conservatives to declare a "truce"...
