Gillibrand ducks debates with Long

With most New Yorkers' attention focused on the presidential election, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand's debate-ducking is flying under the radar.

To date, Gillibrand's opponent Wendy Long has accepted five separate debate requests while Kirsten Gillibrand has agreed to only one, which will only air in upstate New York and New York City, ignoring the people of Long Island and the Hudson Valley.

Out of one side of her mouth, Kirsten Gillibrand calls herself "a trailblazer for more openness and transparency" while out of the other, she says "no" to the chance to make her case for re-election directly to New Yorkers.

Perhaps Kirsten is hesitant to defend her abysmal record as a legislator: 117 of the 131 bills she has introduced have died in committee, and none of the 14 bills that passed had to do with jobs for New Yorkers.

Perhaps Kirsten is hesitant to defend her flip-flops on gun control, illegal immigration and gay marriage.

Kirsten Gillibrand must be afraid to debate Wendy Long, and probably wishes she wouldn't have to debate Long, a Constitutional scholar, who law clerked for Justice Thomas, even once.

Kirsten Gillibrand debated the last candidate she ran against, Joe DioGuardi, twice.

Gillibrand, like Obama, talks about transparency, but doesn't walk the walk. How can NYers trust her about anything?

The one and only Long/Gillibrand debate will be this Wed. at 7 p.m. on YNN and NY1. If you don’t have access to tv at that time, you might be able to pick up YNN on 900 AM radio, especially if you live in the Capital District.

“She is a lackey of chucky shumer ..”

Yes, Gillibrand is, and I’ll never forget, after Gov. Paterson picked Kirsten Gillibrand to be U.S. senator, Schumer publicly told her to evolve on gun rights, and like a good little girl she obeyed Schumer, and is now for gun control.

Debate was great, and here’s a summary (but the summary doesn’t do it justice; it’s best to watch the video):
