WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Investigators probing the London terror bombings are focusing on an elusive British Muslim suspect who is connected to a previous plot to set up a terrorist training camp in rural southern Oregon, according to U.S. counterterrorism officials. Officials told both NBC News and CNN Wednesday that Haroon Rashid Aswat, believed to be a mastermind of the London bombings, is the same British-born Muslim of Indian descent who scouted a Bly, Oregon ranch to set up a terror camp. These officials said Aswat, a Pakistani national being sought for questioning as a person of interest by British authorities,...
  • Elections in state are headed for change (WA STATE VOTE-BY-MAIL-FRAUD)

In the aftermath of the closest, most chaotic governor's race in state history, Democrats are pushing a package of changes that includes moving the primary to an earlier date and shifting the state toward a system in which all votes would be cast by mail. The bills have broad support among Democrats, who control both the House and Senate, but Republicans say they're not enough. "We're not opposed to the stuff that's coming out. We just feel there should be a lot more," said Sen. Bill Finkbeiner, R-Kirkland, the Senate minority leader. "We want to fix the problem and not...

Chris Vance, state Republican party chairman, said officials will decide whether to challenge the recount results after studying the voter rolls from King County, a Democratic stronghold that includes Seattle. "We're mostly posing questions," he said. "King County is where we saw the votes changing. King County is the one county that was allowed to take ballots that were declared dead in November and bring them back to life in December." Democrats accused the Republicans of being on "a fishing expedition" and urged them to concede or risk damaging Rossi's political future by dragging out an election already eight weeks...

The state Supreme Court on Tuesday unanimously rejected the Democratic Party's petition to reconsider about 3,000 invalidated ballots in the hand recount of the extremely close governor's race. Now the spotlight turns to King County, where as many as 595 uncounted votes may be added to the recount on Wednesday, throwing the outcome of the election into even more doubt. On Tuesday night, a King County election official said 22 more ballots had been found in addition to the previous 573.Republican Dino Rossi won the Nov. 2 election by 261 votes and held a 42-vote lead over Democrat Christine Gregoire...

WEST PALM BEACH — As commuters may recall, West Palm Beach Mayor Lois Frankel took advantage of a roadside sign along the North Dixie Highway reconstruction project to express empathy with traffic-bound drivers this month. "I Am Mad Too! - Lois," her message flashed. Now, someone has responded anonymously to the mayor's frustration. Tuesday morning, the electronic board displayed an obscene message. Whoever left the message then locked the metal box housing the sign's keyboard, so that road workers were unable to change the words and had to shut the sign off altogether, which they did shortly after 9 a.m....

When (Dean -D) Logan took over the troubled elections office a year ago, he won praise from both political parties. In the past two weeks, Logan and his office have been sued by the Republican and Democratic parties. And state Republican Party Chairman Chris Vance has launched particularly harsh attacks. Vance has accused Logan of opening the door to possible voter fraud by allowing the Democratic Party to deliver signed affidavits from absentee and provisional voters, storing open boxes of blank ballots near boxes of completed ballots and failing to keep adequate track of all ballots. "I'm not going to...

Gregoire and the Dems have managed to cheat their way to a very close call. This should be over but the Rats will keep it going until they win. This is what happens when morals don't count and unsigned ballots do.

Air-America, the LLL radio station was in a frothing rage today. I listened for a while to hear how the other side was reacting. They were unhinged, completely flipping out. They are saying that 1 million votes were not counted and that Bush did not win the election. Now there are protesters in downtown Portland, blocking streets, carrying signs, chanting, screaming, assaulting people. Much of what the protesters are saying is EXACTLY what was being said by the hosts of Air-America. The hosts of that radio program are beyond irresponsible, they are inciting riots. Free speech comes with responsibility and...
  • Vote to ban gay marriage "Not a mandate" says Oregon activist.

The delusion continues. I heard an opponent to Oregon's same sex marriage "ban", (Not really a ban. Defined marriage: One Man One Woman) say it was "Not a mandate" because the vote was "so close". The "ban" passed by 8% in LL Oregon. If gay marriage had any chance of success, it was in Portland Or., where progressive fools rule. Let's see, eleven states pass eleven same sex marriage bans and that is not a mandate? What would the activist community consider a mandate? Maybe mandates are accompanied by back room deals, uncivil protests and manipulation of our court system....

"I believe the young man probably will register to vote," Haberlach (judge) said. "The reason I imposed the sentence the way I did was because I feel (voting) is the best way for people to express their political beliefs, rather than stealing someone's signs."
