The link is with the FR posting... again, I'm html-illiterate. Herman spoke on his experiences at Godfather's Pizza, criticisms about his lack of political experience, his views on foreign policy, his imminent presidential run, how he would stimulate job creation as president, his views on welfare/unemployment, and his hopes for the next generation. It's a nice discussion between Mr. Cain and young people in Georgia.

After attending a fundraising gathering for Mr. Cain on Monday night, I was inspired to put together another campaign commercial. When people see him speak, they're almost invariably converted. Why? Because Herman Cain, unlike the career politicians running for the Republican nomination, is real. Period. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_CMJuEwPWU

When he heard about the possibility that Michelle Obama and the government nutrition police were putting the screws to Cap'n Crunch, my oldest son asked me to help him make his opinions known. Together, we made this video, in which he discusses the many upsides to the good Cap'n and his sugary manna. Pay attention, Michelle.

It's amazing how technology allows you to condense two hours into four minutes, then set some stirring music to it. About 100 people jammed the sidewalks at the corner of Washington and MLK Streets on Wednesday to show our support for Gov. Scott Walker and his attempts to rein in the government unions. The SEIU was bussed in, and they handed out pre-made signs to the union protesters. We wondered if any of our tax dollars were directly or indirectly responsible for all of their fancy signs and banners. :)

When Herman Cain announced on Wednesday, January 12, that he was forming an exploratory committee to test the waters for a possible presidential bid, he immediately faced questions about his perceived lack of experience. After all, Cain had only a failed U.S. Senate bid in 2004 on his political resume. When Herman spoke to my AP Government class in December, one of the students asked him the same question: "Are you electable, given your lack of political pedigree?" Cain's answer was one that he has since echoed in subsequent interviews. He asked the class to think about the political background...

Maybe Al Gore and Ted Turner are right. The insidious thing about this man-made global warming is how it's lulling us all into this false sense of security by dumping snow and ice on us occasionally. I'm sure it'll warm up soon and then Ted can give us a timetable on how long we have until the Earth goes belly-up. I probably should have labeled this as vanity, but with all the tension and heavy discussions of the day, it was fun to play outside with the boys for a few hours :) Enjoy!

An earlier comment concerning the freedom of speech question in the Giffords case got me wondering about this. I'd love to see the results, and I'll be sharing the percentages with my government and U.S. classes. Thanks!

Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik used the post-shooting press conference as an opportunity to attack "vitriol" and freedom of speech. And the Left now has their narrative. by Michael Naragon The train station was, as could be expected, packed with people. A lone bearded figure paced along the periphery of the crowd, anxious. Already this morning, he'd read through the newspaper and had his shoes shined, wasting time until he could get to his business of the day. And then, the entourage filed in. The man at the center of the entourage was cheerful, heading to the train with members...

Herman Cain for President in 2012A short comparison of Mr. Cain and President Reagan, along with Glenn Beck's comments about Mr. Cain's RightNation speech, all set to the theme from "The Patriot." This video was made for my AP Government class for the day when Mr. Cain spoke to us for an hour and gave us an idea of his vision and plan for the near future. Please support the movement to bring Herman Cain into the presidential race!

It's that time of year... all three of my children are sick with summer colds. To cheer them up last night, I went to the folks at JibJab and, with the help of their website, produced this video. I've watched it about 700 times at this point, and I thought some of you might enjoy it as well. So before I begin writing my scathing analyses of Kagan, the Arizona immigration case, Obama's golf game and other pressing matters, I'm going with a humorous diversion :)

In the lead-up to Independence Day, I thought it would be interesting to get your opinion on who was the greatest U.S. president. I have my own view, which I’ll share in a July 4 posting. Historians have their take, as well, consistently ranking FDR and Lincoln at the top of the list. I'll be using the results in my AP Government class, so please participate! You can also reach the poll through direct link at: Who was the greatest President of the United States?or by going to http://theconstitutionalalamo.com Thanks!

In a year when Oklahoma is considering a referendum against using Islamic law in their court system, the following video has even more relevance. A few weeks ago, I wrote a post about the confrontation between David Horowitz and a Muslim student in California, where the Islamic student admitted her support for a second Holocaust. In that post, I expressed my growing belief that Muslim influence is a growing threat to the United States, that it is not the “religion of peace” that so many people seem to believe it is. If we needed yet another example that Muslims in...

For my AP Government and Politics (U.S.) workshop this week, we had to construct unit plans to use for teaching a specific topic. Mine was the president, and, as part of my presentation, I made this short video. It wowed those in the class, but that could be because they're public school teachers and they've never really seen how good Reagan was. I did try to keep it politically neutral, so don't expect a really heavy partisan bent. But I think it still shows how pitiful the Obama presidency is, in a very subtle way. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5pM8m_6BpE

According to a story published Tuesday on The New American's website [http://thenewamerican.com/index.php/usnews/politics/3671-92-million-green-facelift-for-irs-center], the new additions to the IRS facility in Andover, Massachusetts will include an art gallery, indoor gardens, and a 7,000-square-foot cafeteria. >>"Officials at the U.S. General Services Administration said the $80.5 million awarded the agency under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act-the formal name for the stimulus program-was to "put people back to work quickly" and "transform federal buildings into high-performance green buildings." The renovations and "green upgrades" at the 400,000 square-foot complex will create "a comfortable, collaborative environment," and a sense of "community and belonging," architect Levi...

RabbiLIVE.com did a quick interview with Thomas, who works for Hearst Newspapers, last week. Her comments toward Israel were illuminating. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQcQdWBqt14] Perhaps Ms. Thomas has no grasp of history before 1948. Or, perhaps, her anti-Semitism blinds her to it. Has our national position changed so much toward Israel that we are willing to allow such idiocy to spew from our White House press corps? Someone should give Ms. Thomas, who obviously lived during the period of World War II, a short primer on what happened to the Jews during those years. If she were so inclined, I could give her...

In a CBS news story that likely will not receive the coverage it deserves, a kindergartner was suspended on May 19 for almost bringing a knife to school. Almost. Five-year-old Josh Bejerano and his friends were on their way to school on Thursday morning when they found a pocket knife under a bush. Like all young boys–I have three myself and know how mine would have reacted–Josh excitedly put the knife in his backpack. Then, he apparently remembered that knives do not belong at school, and he took the blade out of his backpack and put it down. This is...
