Herman spoke on his experiences at Godfather's Pizza, criticisms about his lack of political experience, his views on foreign policy, his imminent presidential run, how he would stimulate job creation as president, his views on welfare/unemployment, and his hopes for the next generation. It's a nice discussion between Mr. Cain and young people in Georgia.

After attending a fundraising gathering for Mr. Cain on Monday night, I was inspired to put together another campaign commercial. When people see him speak, they're almost invariably converted. Why? When he heard about the possibility that Michelle Obama and the government nutrition police were putting the screws to Cap'n Crunch, my oldest son asked me to help him make his opinions known. Together, we made this video, in which he discusses the many upsides to the good Cap'n and his sugary manna. Pay attention, Michelle.

It's amazing how technology allows you to condense two hours into four minutes, then set some stirring music to it. About 100 people jammed the sidewalks at the corner of Washington and MLK Streets on Wednesday to show our support for Gov. Scott Walker and his attempts to rein in the government unions. The SEIU was bussed in, and they handed out pre-made signs to the union protesters. We wondered if any of our tax dollars were directly or indirectly responsible for all of their fancy signs and banners. :)

When Herman Cain announced on Wednesday, January 12, that he was forming an exploratory committee to test the waters for a possible presidential bid, he immediately faced questions about his perceived lack of experience. After all, Cain had only a failed U.S. Senate bid in 2004 on his political resume. Maybe Al Gore and Ted Turner are right. The insidious thing about this man-made global warming is how it's lulling us all into this false sense of security by dumping snow and ice on us occasionally. I'm sure it'll warm up soon and then Ted can give us a timetable on how long we have until the Earth goes belly-up. I probably should have labeled this as vanity, but with all the tension and heavy discussions of the day, it was fun to play outside with the boys for a few hours :) Enjoy!

For my AP Government and Politics (U.S.) workshop this week, we had to construct unit plans to use for teaching a specific topic. Mine was the president, and, as part of my presentation, I made this short video. It wowed those in the class, but that could be because they're public school teachers and they've never really seen how good Reagan was. I did try to keep it politically neutral, so don't expect a really heavy partisan bent. But I think it still shows how pitiful the Obama presidency is, in a very subtle way.
