VIDEO: Herman Cain speaks to students and faculty

The link is with the FR posting... again, I'm html-illiterate. Herman spoke on his experiences at Godfather's Pizza, criticisms about his lack of political experience, his views on foreign policy, his imminent presidential run, how he would stimulate job creation as president, his views on welfare/unemployment, and his hopes for the next generation. It's a nice discussion between Mr. Cain and young people in Georgia.

Unless Allen West runs, I will vote for Mr. Cain in the primaries.

I would love to see a presidential ticket with West and Cain on it.

That seems to be one of the growing opinions, and I’d have no issue with a Cain/West ticket in any order.

Where does he stand on the issue of a path to citizenship for illegals aka amnesty?

I like him too - he’s a soothing speaker - like having your Dad or Grandfather (or at my age even an older husband!) talk to you and explain things. The left is scared of him, already labeling him as “Uncle Tom”

He talks about that in the course of his session with the kids, I think, although I edited it in segments, so it may not have gotten in. He was against amnesty and wants to secure the border.

“Where does he stand on the issue of a path to citizenship for illegals aka amnesty?”

Check out Herman Cain of Fox yesterday - he discusses it at length.

The first thing to do is secure the border.

“Obama is not serious about closing the border.

I will do whatever it takes to close it.”

I don’t have a link, bit it was near the beginning of Glenn Beck’s program, with a guest host, after they interviewed one of the border sherrifs.

Here’s the segment in which he addresses illegal immigration with the students: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rUfYgd6Lkc

Thanks for the post. Cain is a powerful speaker. A good mix of history, idealism and practicality. He can communicate important ideas to young people and I believe to everybody. He also has a nice sense of humor and perspective. Combined with his experience in the real world, of managing a big and complex business, his success at various levels moving up the corporate ladder and at the top of the corporate ladder, and given his basic common sense American values, he would make a terrific candidate for President for the Republicans.

I definitely like the guy, but for a high school civics teacher, not a president. I agree, it would be nice to have a president who knew what everyone should have learned in high school civics class.

The really cool thing is that he answers questions clearly and directly. And the really really cool thing is that the young people are responding so positively.

Should be a lesson to anyone who runs for office.

Now ONLY if the majority of the Republican party would think this way. Then we would really have a two party system. The Republicans can rest assure another loss IF they put in another McCain type candidate.

Herman Cain is great, but I’m sure the “Check Pant Republicans” will have nothing to do with him.

I wouldn’t support any of the other candidates for high school civics teacher, much less president. Except, perhaps, Newt Gingrich, who has some experience in the teaching field.

Herman Cain would be an excellent teacher, but he’ll make a much better commander in chief.

He’s a more than a tad too didactic for my taste in a C-in-C.

I listened to Cain on Fox yesterday, and appreciated his saying that he would close the border but did not hear him address the issue of amnesty for illegal aliens directly...that’s why I asked. For me, amnesty is a non starter and so is any candidate who proposes it. The only acceptable solution is catching them and deporting them. For those whiners who would say this is not possible, if 12 million Chinese infantry landed on the west coast with AK-47s, would you say the same thing?
