Please don’t try to confuse an already confusing situation with facts. Our National Security Policy needs to be set and run using emotion, even fake, ginned-up emotion (SARC)
“The Flyers move comes just a day after the New York Yankees decided to pull Smiths 1939 version of God Bless America, which the team has played at Yankee Stadium in the middle of the seventh inning for 18 years. The Yankees said in a statement they were investigating the claims of racism in some of Smiths past songs, and while the team has not yet made a final conclusion, it was erring on the side of sensitivity.”
In 1931, Smith recorded a song titled Thats Why Darkies Were Born, written by Ray Henderson and Lew Brown, which includes the lyrics, Someone had to pick the cotton. There is some question about the satirical nature of the song, which was also recorded by African-American artist Paul Robeson and referenced in the 1933 Marx Brothers film Duck Soup.
In the 1933 film Hello, Everbody! Smith sings Pickaninny Heaven, a song that directs colored children living in an orphanage to fantasize about a place with great big watermelons.
Its unclear what prompted both the Flyers and the Yankees to act now, considering the songs have been around for more than 80 years”.
As an American and Philadelphia sports fan I am beyond disgusted with all the scrubbing of American History to ease the fragile sensitivities of the weak liberal minds. The songs in question were performed in the 1920's and 30's.

Author tried to slip that little tidbit under the radar it seems. If it was “white Christians” doing the slaughtering it would be in the Headline and blasted all over the airwaves.
Agree, GHWB was my CinC during Desert Storm and Somolia and he will always have my respect for that even though I disagree with his policies on other things.
