Great post Doc and thank you for the information.
With regard to no Islamic terrorism in the Balkans as suggested mockingly by some here, see below. ..

    Serbian police arrest 'terrorists'

"Serbian police have said they have uncovered caches of ammunition and explosives in what they said was the training camp for Muslim fighters in the country's south.

They also said that they had arrested four Serbian Muslims during the raid on a complex of several tents and a cave on a remote mountain near the town of Novi Pazar on Saturday.

In a statement the police said the men belong to the Wahhabi sect of Islam and came from the town of Novi Pazar, the main town in the predominantly Muslim Sandzak region, which straddles the Serbia-Montenegro border.

In a day-long operation, the police said they found large quantities of plastic explosives, ammunition, face masks, military uniforms, bombs, food, water and other equipment.

Also found were "propaganda terrorist material, military survival instructions, geographic charts and several CDs," the police statement said.

Four people were arrested, all from Novi Pazar, while one person managed to escape, the statement said.

The police statement did not specify whether the group was planning any attacks in Serbia or elsewhere, or whether it had ties to other Islamic terrorist groups.

Western intelligence reports leaked recently have suggested that Sandzak, as well as Muslim-dominated regions in neighboring Bosnia, could be an ideal recruitment spot for the so-called "white al-Qaeda" - Muslims with Western features who could easily blend into European or US cities to execute attacks.

Several incidents have been reported in Sandzak within the Muslim community, with the Wahhabis accusing local Muslim clerics of failing to practice "true" Islam, and disrupting prayers at local mosques. Source: Agencies"

    Al Jazeera (English)

Please note: Islamists in the balkans are only "Serbian Muslims" when caught, that's the spin,....otherwise (according to the mainstream press), they are either 'Former Yugoslavs', 'Bosniaks', or 'Kosovars', etc....

    Bin Laden's Balkan connections:

Bin Laden's Balkan connections: Al-Qaeda fighters have been quietly infiltrating the ranks of ethnic Albanian guerrilla forces in Macedonia Croatia, Bosnia and Kosovo for years
Posted in the Ottawa Citizen By Scott Taylor

"...Ten days later, on Jan. 27, 1999, the Arab-language news service Al Hayat reported that an Albanian commander in Kosovo, code-named Monia, was directly connected to Osama bin Laden. The piece also reported that "at least 100 Muslim mujahedeen" were serving with Monia's force in Kosovo.

In August 1998, the Washington Post reported that the CIA was not only aware of Mr. bin Laden's association with the Albanian regime, but that U.S. operatives had been "prominent" in the arrest of four al-Qaeda agents in Tirana. At the time, U.S. State Department officials even speculated that the bombings of the American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania might have been Mr. bin Laden's revenge for the Tirana arrests.

The al-Qaeda suspects detained by the CIA in Albania had been operating the Islamic Revival Foundation, "a charitable organization that official sources say provided a useful cover for the (suspects') efforts on behalf of bin Laden," the Washington Post reported. ..."

"...Some of the most revealing links between Albanian fighters and Mr. bin Laden surfaced in December 1998, when al-Qaeda agent Claude Sheik Abdel-Kader was arrested in Tirana for the murder of his Albanian translator. During his trial, ,b>Mr. Abdel-Kader confessed to being a senior commander in Mr. bin Laden's network, and claimed he had recruited a force of some 300 mujahedeen to fight in Kosovo.

European media covering the trial reported his revelation that Osama bin Laden -- although a wanted terrorist -- had travelled freely to Tirana in 1994 and 1998 to meet with senior Albanian officials. Mr. Abdel-Kader also confessed that when the Albanian regime of Sali Berisa collapsed into anarchy in 1997, state armouries and government offices were looted. According to Mr. Abdel-Kader, many of the 10,000 heavy weapons and 100,000 passports that went missing fell into the hands of al-Qaeda members.

Osama bin Laden -- stripped of his Saudi citizenship in 1994 -- is alleged to have retained the Bosnian passport he was issued in Vienna in 1993. According to a Sept. 1999 report in Dani, a Bosnian Muslim weekly paper, Alija Izetbegovic, then president of Bosnia, granted Mr. bin Laden a passport in recognition of his followers' contributions to Mr. Izetbegovic's quest to create a "fundamentalist Islamic republic" in the Balkans.
Dani also reported that al-Qaeda terrorist Mehrez Aodouni had been arrested in Istanbul while carrying a Bosnian passport. Like Mr. bin Laden, his citizenship had been granted "because he was a member of the Bosnia-Herzegovina army."

Canadian soldiers serving with the United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR) were among the first to report the presence of mujahedeen among the Bosnian Muslims as early as 1992.
The Asian edition of the Wall Street Journal reported that, in 1993, Mr. bin Laden had appointed Sheik Ayman Al-Zawahiri, the al-Qaeda's second-in-command, to direct his operations in the Balkans. .."

Well, Iran isn't running out of oil, it's problem is getting the oil out of the ground apparently.

"Having an oil reserve and getting that oil from the ground are very different things" (expert)

I don't know if you noticed, but the article describing US sales to Saudi, and the article reporting Russian sales to Iran were both dated today.Coincidence? I doubt it.

I think the west has screwed up its foreign policy totally. It lost Russia after communism fell when it invaded the Balkans in support of Albanian narco terrorists, and enlarged Nato onto Russia's doorstep.
Russian goodwill evaporated, and in exchange for losing Russia we now have new pals in Albania.

A poor trade and a distinct possibility we will either end up with a new Islamic mafia state in Europe, or a confrontation that will see Russia on the side of International law. Doesn't make sense..

    The Guardian

The Bush administration is facing claims that it is fuelling an arms race in the Middle East following the disclosure of a plan to sell $20bn (£9.8bn) of advanced weaponry to Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states.

The plan, which will be announced today, will be balanced by a 25% increase in US military and defence aid to Israel. A further $13bn will be pledged to Egypt.

"This administration does not have an arms sales policy, except to sell, sell, sell," said Daryl Kimball of the Arms Control Association. "That approach in the Middle East can be like throwing gasoline on a brush fire."]

Dear Hoppy, In my original comment to you I stated I had just watched a CNN clip on Kosovo.
You were the one asking for a link. I never promoted a link, I told you what i had seen on tv. You also were the one claiming I should provide ‘you’ with a link. You also called me a liar, That calls my wife a liar too since she was right here with me watching it.

I am not responsible for CNN’s website. CNN has no links to any news items that work as far as I can see.
Unmik ‘s website is only updated to 18th July. Make a note I was referring to 20th July.
Once a link becomes available I will post it to you as you appear to have 1/ A hostility problem, 2/ A comprehension problem, and 3/ A propensity to accuse others of what lies within your own inner self.

Sorry to not have gotten back to you before, but someone interesting has been occupying my time so you got put on the back burner. I haven’t wasted any time unlike yourself.

With regards support to the US by Serbia, if you can read you will see the Serbian PM offered assistance of 1,000 troops to be under US control and it was accepted. You will also see from the links I provided that there are 1,000 Serbs serving in US uniforms in the US military under US control.. I took it you can count. It isn’t for me to apologize if you can’t..
Neither is it for me to explain the bizzare actions of the US State department who don’t want to offend Islamists in their attack against Islamists. Coincidental numbers? Who cares, the fact is they are right there shoulder to shoulder, individually or collectively just as they always have been. They are a damn sight better friend to the US than the US has ever been historically to them.

Meanwhile your protege’s continue to engage in acts of terrorism and threaten war.

"October 4, 2003 Serbia Will Send Troops and Police to Afghanistan By ELAINE SCIOLINO

BELGRADE, Oct. 3 — The United States has accepted an offer by Serbia and Montenegro to send up to 1,000 combat troops and police officers to Afghanistan to join American forces there, senior Serbian officials and foreign diplomats said today.
The Serbian-Montenegrin force, which will have to be trained to function under American operational command, will be based in the Kandahar region near the Pakistani border, the officials said. The troops are expected to be ready for deployment by March. Afghan officials have not reacted to the plan so far.
Boris Tadic, the defense minister of Serbia and Montenegro, said at a news conference today that Liberia, Iraq and Afghanistan were discussed as possible destinations for Serbian troops and that "it is more likely that Afghanistan is the potential destination."

"Serbia and Montenegro: Belgrade Offers Washington Soldiers For Afghanistan
By Julia Geshakova Four years after the NATO-led war on Yugoslavia, Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Zivkovic is offering to send Serbian soldiers to serve in missions abroad under U.S. command. Western media are now reporting that the offer has been accepted and that a Serbian unit will likely be deployed in Afghanistan next spring. Prague, 8 October 2003 (RFE/RL) -- U.S. officials reportedly were caught by surprise when, during a visit to Washington in July, Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Zivkovic discreetly offered to send some 1,000 Serbian troops to Iraq, Afghanistan, or wherever the U.S. might like them...."

    Serbian Troops to Afghanistan
    2003/1014
Question: Do we have any comment on Serbia sending troops to Afghanistan? Will Radosavljevic, head of the Serbian gendarmerie, be leading the delegation? Do we have a comment on that? Answer: As Secretary Powell told reporters at the Foreign Press Center on August 7, Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Zivkovic made an offer of Serbia and Montenegrin troops for international military operations during his July 24 meeting with Secretary Powell. We continue to explore the possibility with the Government of Serbia and Montenegro and the Government of Afghanistan. A delegation from their Ministry of Defense visited Tampa and Washington, DC in late September to discuss this offer in greater detail. No final decisions on Serbia and Montenegrin participation have been made.
No decision has been made on the type of troops that may be provided. Released on October 6, 2003

Regarding 'Mr" Casey. There is a follow up to this..

"This is on the Balkans. Mr. Casey, to my surprise, I was told that Mr. Gregory Copley is better analyst than Richard Holbrooke, Richard Perle, Paul Wolfowitz, Douglas Faith, Morton Abramowitz, and the list is going on. Besides that, he's very well-known by the Secretary of State Rice and Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte. General Hague has endorsed this into his book. After your -- yesterday response on the Balkan, his statement writing today: "There is no doubt that the Department of State has been driving the agenda of Southeast Europe, and that the Department of State's agenda is exactly the same as the former Clinton administration agenda. This has proven to be very counterproductive for U.S. strategic interests in the past, and the situation has now worsened." How do you respond to those charges against the Department of State?

    I know how you feel:(
Sounds like you know about this radio interview from 1999, if anyone missed it...:)

Quote: "G. Sheehy: Hillary did persuade Bill Clinton to bomb in Kosovo, and what she said to him in phone calls over 48 hours from North Africa in March of ‘99: "You can’t let this ethnic cleansing go on at the end of the century that has seen the Holocaust."

    M. Savage: But it turns out that was false because the original estimates of 100,000 were now reduced to 10,000 by the State Department, and yet the UN inspection team has only found 2,200 bodies. So this could turn out to be the greatest disaster of her, of her entire life.

    G. Sheehy: Well, I don’t know about that. But we’re getting way, way far away from any...

    M. Savage: Well, wait a minute, we’re not far away from the UN, which went to the ground, looked for the bodies, and found 2,200 dead bodies. This was one of the greatest war crimes of our age according to many international people who know that, including liberal democrats.

    G. Sheehy: Well, I really don’t know what, whether, the facts have all come out. And I don’t think we will know for a while. It’s one of those ongoing stories...

    M. Savage: No, it’s not. Here, wait a minute, before we go on, we can’t just say the facts don’t exist. The UN spent a lot of time looking for the mass graves. They said there were only about 2,200 bodies that were found. They don’t even know how many of those are Serbian bodies. And then just last week the State Department revised downward their 100,000 figure of dead Kosovar Albanians to 10,000 even though the UN only said 2,200. This is turning out... and I don’t think you, I don’t think you want to defend Hillary on this.

    G. Sheehy: [Unintelligible] ... a small number. In any case,...

    M. Savage: But does that, wait, does that justify bombing an entire nation into the stone age?

    G. Sheehy: Wait, wait. We, they didn’t, they didn’t bomb it into the stone age...

    M. Savage: There are no bridges left on the Danube River. The people have no heating oil; they have no food.

    G. Sheehy: I’m not going to sit here and debate with you the rightness and the wrongness of the bombing in Kosovo. All I’m telling you is what I know. That’s all I can tell you.

    M. Savage: But what you don’t know is that there is more to it than what you do know.

    G. Sheehy: Well, Hillary and you and the American public did not know any of this at that time...

    M. Savage: Yes, we did. I beg... Excuse, excuse me, Gail Sheehy, many Jewish people who had been sheltered by the Serbian people were on this program and were outraged that we were killing our allies who rescued our airmen in World War II. We got people on who were former prosecutors at Nuernberg against Hitler, on this program, liberal Democrats, going back to FDR, who were outraged at what the Clintons had done with our airplanes, giving them to NATO. So don’t say that we didn’t know. We knew it even then.

    G. Sheehy: No, we didn’t know. They...

    M. Savage: How can you tell us we didn’t know, when we debated it here?

    G. Sheehy: Well, they didn’t have observers; they didn’t even have UN observers at that point...

    M. Savage: So how did they make up a hundred thousand?

    G. Sheehy: Conditions were so severe they couldn’t even keep... they pulled out the UN observers -- if you remember.

    M. Savage: So how did they raise it to a hundred thousand if they didn’t know?

    G. Sheehy: I don’t know. That’s the reporting that we had at that time.

    M. Savage: In other words, it was propaganda that Hillary Clinton used. It was propaganda that Hillary Clinton used in order to justify the unjustifiable.

    G. Sheehy: They didn’t know any better than you knew.

    M. Savage: Oh, they didn’t know any better than I did, and they’re the president and his wife. So what does that say about them?

    The Bosnian Connection

".......In 1992, as Sheikh was preparing to leave for Bosnia and take up arms against the Bosnian Serbs, Hitchens began agitating for American action against them. One went to fight alongside the Bosnian Muslim Army, the other called for the arming of the Bosnian Muslim Army and the military punishment of its opponents in the Bosnian Serb camp. The explosion of civil war in Bosnia in 1992 turned both into military interventionists who decided to declare war against what they considered “evil.” Hitchens’s and Sheikh’s shared starting point is not a one-off. Many of today’s liberal hawks, who call for war against al-Qaeda in Afghanistan, Iraq, and elsewhere, were on the side of the militants during the Bosnian conflict. Indeed, back then the pro-interventionist Left and al-Qaeda were allies. Both groups backed the Bosnian Muslim Army and demonized the Bosnian Serbs as savages. Liberal hawks, including Hitchens, did it with propaganda; al-Qaeda did it by deed. But both the black-and-white worldviews of the Left neocons and the bin Ladenites were forged in the fires of the Bosnian war. It is widely known that the Mujahi-deen first emerged during the Afghan-Soviet War of the 1980s, when they were armed and trained by American, British, Pakistani, and Saudi intelligence. Less well reported is the fact that Western forces later facilitated the movement of Mujahideen into Bosnia. Some 3,000 Islamic militants descended to fight alongside the Bosnian Muslims. The Clinton administration, which encouraged the arming of the Bosnian Muslim Army by Iran, Saudi Arabia, and various dubious Islamic charities, helped to open a gateway...."
