President Trump's approval rating among Americans stands at 48 percent, a new poll shows. The poll from American Barometer, a new joint project by Hill.TV and HarrisX, showed that among those who approve of Trump's job performance, 23 percent did so "strongly" while 25 percent did so "somewhat." White House chief of staff John Kelly has urged President Trump to fire embattled EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt, whose ethics and judgment are being questioned over a series of decisions he has made involving spending, housing and his management style. Dean Heller (R-Nev.) said in a speech last week he believes Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy will retire this summer, according to audio of the speech obtained by Politico. “Kennedy is going to retire around sometime early summer,” Heller said in the speech, according to Politico. “Which I’m hoping will get our base a little motivated because right now they’re not very motivated. But I think a new Supreme Court justice will get them motivated.” Heller is facing a tough GOP primary ahead of the 2018 midterms as Las Vegas businessman Danny Tarkanian challenges Heller for the Republican nomination.

(CNN)Just one point separates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump in two states that are critical to both candidates' chances of becoming president, according to new CNN/ORC polls in Pennsylvania and Colorado. In Colorado, likely voters break 42% for Trump, 41% for Clinton, 13% for Libertarian Gary Johnson and 3% for Green Party candidate Jill Stein. Pennsylvania's likely voters split 45% for Clinton, 44% for Trump, 6% for Johnson and 3% for Stein. Those divides are well within each poll's 3.5-point margin of sampling error.

The UPI/CVoter daily presidential tracking poll released Monday shows Donald Trump leading Hillary Clinton by about 3 percentage points. The online poll shows Trump with 48.7 percent to Clinton's 45.8 percent in the seven-day polling period ending Sunday. Those responding with "others" were at 5 percent.
