Adblock, a popular extension for blocking advertising in Chrome and Safari with more than 40 million users, was quietly sold today. The extension displayed a popup on October 1 saying that it is now allowing EyeO’s acceptable advertising — which allows advertisers to buy their way onto the whitelist — through the filter. ________________ I have recommended adblock a number of times but noticed when the last update which happened last week that I was seeing ads. And now I know why. They are co-opted. I am now trying Ghostary. Are there other adblocking extensions available that our techs recommend?

Because of changes in my household there is now a need for major TV. So I have upgraded from the basic for my garage tenant to standard that has almost 200 channels. Now I have to purchase a modem and Wi-Fi. I talked to the cable guy. I need Wi-Fi that will travel over 60feet and over three stories. I need a modem that is Time Warner compliant that will bring in over 300 doo-hickies. Is there any one out there who understands this? I have to shop tomorrow and send back the TW modem. After 15 years with my medical group, I received the advanced directive from them. Modeled after the Obama care directive it was interesting to note that the doctor's group directive asks whether one wants to choose whether to be KEPT ALIVE when one has an illness that will not get better, cannot be cured, and will result in one's death quite soon, i.e. a terminal condition. Roku Question. Recently Housemate installed Roku, Bandwith is degraded on other devices? Is it a bandwidth hog? We run several tvs and computers in the building off of cable TV and cable internet. But noticed that Roku was on and was degrading the computers thruput. It is off now and we are back to usual whizzing speeds. Thoughts?
