This is the 20th anniversary of my years at FreeRepublic. I joined on November 9, 1998. I found a home here and have enjoyed my almost daily visits. Some of the most fascinating people have passed through the FR portal and the beautiful format allowed for sustained conversation and deep education of this fledgling conservative. FR also has provided much support and guidance through the talents and knowledge and kindnesses of its members. Tied down with four children to support, homeschool, and raise, singlehandedly, I was never able to make any of the events and was sad not to attend...

When I see the high absentee ballot returns I realize that leftists have been trolling group homes, nursing homes, assisted care facilities, people in supportive living situations, institutions, prisons and hospitals looking for "incapacitated" people. You see an incapacitated person can have their caregiver vote FOR them and the caregiver is to vote in what the caregiver PERCEIVES TO BE THE INCAPACITATED VOTER'S BEST INTERESTS. So this gives social workers, a known leftist conclave enormous voting power. I watched this happen in CT in the late sixties, and it has been going on at a low to medium level since...

The suspect in a synagogue vandalism act that forced the cancellation of a Democratic event is reportedly a former City Hall employee who worked on anti-hate crime issues and is a Democratic activist, The Daily Caller News Foundation has learned. The New York Times and a Jewish couple helped the impoverished gay black man attend college where he studied African American studies, according to The Times. He resented New York liberals as patronizing, and railed against Israel and cultural appropriation, according to his Facebook profile. Before knowing his identity, politicians said the vandalism demonstrated why voting Democratic was needed and...
  • Obamacare Budget was Developed on the Backs of Millennials Student Loan Repayments

I keep up with the events and politics. I am reading the book Kids These Days - Human Capital and the Making of Millennials by Malcolm Harris and it gave me a very different perspective on student Debt. Chapter Two called Go to College, discusses student debt, its design not to be discharged via bankruptcy, and the use of future earnings of millennials to fund current healthcare debt IE Obamacare and education capitol construction projects for the foreseeable future. This puts a different spin on what happened to these kids who have been encouraged to voluntarily take on debt that...

I Read GOODBYE GOOD MEN Over 16 Years Ago. Described the Catholic Church and Roots of Its Sexual Sin. Eighteen years ago Michael Rose wrote GOODBYE GOOD MEN describing the recruiting of homosexual men into the priest hood and rejection of conservative heterosexual men. Certainly what he said was true then and continues to unfold. This information was available then and earlier. What happened? So I am puzzled why this information is so hot right now?

Why aren't conservatives clamoring for Keith Ellisaon to resign?? His head should be on a platter!! REMEMBER Saul Alinsky’s Rules from Rules for Radicals Saul Alinsky describes 24 rules in Rules for Radicals. Of those 24 rules, 13 are rules of “power tactics”: 1. “Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have.” 2. “Never go outside the experience of your people.” 3. “Wherever possible go outside of the experience of the enemy.” 4. “Make the enemy live up to their own book of rules.” 5. “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” 6. “A good...
  • Reading Orwell's Road to Wigan Pier. It Explains Today's Leftist Fascism Prescient

    08/11/2018 5:35:15 AM PDT · by Chickensoup · 104 replies
Just finished The Road to Wigan Pier a book Orwell wrote about leftism and fascism during the 30's in Great Britan. Chilton Williamson from CHRONICLES had recommended it in the magazine's What the Editor's are Reading section. Good selection. This is a discussion of class, industrialization, and Orwell's perspective of what happens when humans are treated as disposable. Interestingly, during the industrialization of Great Britain, there were many thrown out of work and lots of talk, as there is today about the dole (today read guaranteed income) being the way to allow people to be "free." Many other parallels with...

They are the enforcer arm of the Leftist Fascists and they are ready to dismantle our country. They are dangerous. They are true believers. There is no reasoning with them. They have no ability to have insight into their own behaviors.

I have been watching and listening to President Trump and the MSM, the politicians, the leftist pundits, the murky middle pundits and everyone else who has been weighing in an opinion on what the President should do or should have done regarding NATO, the countries he has visited, and with President Putin. President Trump is doing great and I am proud of him and his ability to speak plainly, truthfully, and break down barriers of entitlement. I am also pleased that he is able to transcend ideology and reach across to Russia and other countries to help solidify peace and...

Tech PING! CAR PING! The 2015 JEEP Sahara UCONNECT says NO MAPS! HELP? The GPS works, there are NO MAPS AVAILABLE and there is not much on this, even at the Jeep sites that I have been able to ferret out. I spoke to the UCONNCET people and they only update the maps. Everyone shakes their heads and says I dunno. The dealership says they never heard of such an issue. Surely there must be a software fix somewhere?? Even if the map files are corrupted? Any car techs out there??
