My nephew's wife is due December 1, but her OB now wants to take the baby early by C-section because the pregnancy is presenting with placenta previa. On Thursday, Lauren will undergo an amniocentesis analysis to determine if the baby’s lungs are developed enough for early delivery. Please pray that all goes well for this young couple and their little baby boy.

On Wednesday, I will be having laser surgery for a cataract. Even though I know that this is now a routine procedure, I am very anxious, especially since I am squeamish about stuff being put into my eyes. Please pray for me to receive the grace from the Holy Spirit that will allow me to place it all in God’s Hands.

Please pray, also, for her husband Jimmy and their two children, one of whom is in grade school, while the other is in middle school.

Please pray for an uncomplicated c-section delivery of my grandson today. The pregancy has been without serious complications, and all is looking good. Please pray that the baby is healthy and that his mother, my DIL Melissa, will have a good recovery from her surgery. Meanwhile, Grandmom Bigg Red will be at my son's home caring for the new baby's big brother, who just turned 2 yesterday, and their 130-pound dog. I am asking for prayers for two acquaintances who have been diagnosed with cancer. Isabelle was successfully treated a few years ago for esophageal cancer, but her cancer has returned. The doctor, however, says that they have caught it early. Shirley has been diagnosed with early stage bladder cancer. Please keep these women and their families in your prayers. The good part is that the tumor is benign -- thank God -- but it will be tricky for the surgeon because of the potential for damage to surrounding nerve tissue. My dear grandson is receiving the holy sacrament of Baptism this Sunday. I ask for your prayers for his blessing, but I ask you to also pray for his father, my son, to fully receive God's grace. Although I raised him in the faith, my son has been away from the faith since his late teens. The act of choosing to have his first child baptized, I pray, is my son's first step in coming back to the fold rather than just a social event.

The sister is having a hysterectomy on Tuesday, the 20th. The doctor expects no complications, but please pray that all goes well for Arlene, a good Catholic, in her surgery and in her recovery phase.
